I'm a 50 something and can barely carry a tune but sang this at a karaoke party and had the whole place singing along! You can't listen to this and not smile...

1970 I was only 8 years and already this song was my favourite back then....its 2022 I am 60 now and am still listening.....wow still enjoying this song
I made it home after about two and a half years in Vietnam when I first heard this. Boy, music had changed during the time I was gone. My dear wife, Carol, used to send me cassettes with music to remind me to get my behind home. I loved and still love this song, along with Tie a Yellow Ribbon a great way to be welcomed home. Not quite as good as seeing Carol at the gate when I walked off that airplane, and got hugs and kisses like I had never had before.
Touching story, especially that last bit. The world has changed since then, but love is timeless, it is always the same, 20,000 BC, or 2024 AD, there is no change. It is the only intangible force in the universe, virtually immeasurable, and when real remains emphatic, never susceptible to gravity or time like mortal things. I am glad she was there waiting. Cheers
This brings back such BEAUTIFUL memories for me growing up in the the late 60's and 70's and dancing in our lounge with my Mom and Dad as a little girl❤
This is a pure classic!! It's always great to go back to these precious times. This was a very popular hit back in the day when it was hitting the airwaves. A true masterpiece by a solid, great performer.

So young never thought us who were lucky to reach 70 and 80.Many of my friends and relatives who were this age in 1970 are gone. Really happy Tony Telma and Joyce are alive and well.
Seeing the young Polynesian fellas singing along and blasting this on their JBL speakers in the workplace, can't help but smile. Great crew, great song.
The good old days when life was sweet and pure. My Daddy always had the stero blasting and he and Mommy were always dancing around the house. Daddy has a wonderful voice and was always singing . 💜💜💜💜
Met Tony at Chadneys Restaurant in Burbank Ca. In 1981. I was the Bartender there. He was later performing in Las Vegas. I was in the front row with ny new wife and he pointed me out in front of over 1000 people and had me stand up and wave to the crowd as he was saying "if you want a great drink from the very best Bartender in Burbank Ca. go and see this guy Greg Wilber at Chadneys"!! That was amazing. My wife was shocked. A very cool experience. Tony Orlando was a hell of a guy.
I'm not even sure our family had a TV back then, if we did it was B&W and rarely on. I remember this one from the radio - specifically mum would request a song each year when we went on holidays. Never imagined he had two beautiful girls singing along with him.
