Nuristan Afghanistan, Finally our first day exploring this almost other worldly place, where time seems to have stood still for centuries. This day we just went to explore, internet was zero in these places so had no resirces to google anything much, the guide had never been there before either , also the girls and women have a sixth sense for men and rub away, turn their backs and hide their faces like ive never seen anywhere before. The ancient traditions here are pretty mindblowing and again its a case of, i wish i knew more before i went , but thought we would find the info from locals, sadly that didnt happen ... this is part one of a couple of days, the next night we ended up camping by the river, which was interesting, food also is hard to find here, not so many roadside shops for miles and here i was just desperate for tea! But the Children melted my heart, especially the little girl with the white hijab that held my hand, i will always wonder what became of her, she was a sweetheart... more Nuristan in the next vlog...still catching up a lot here !

The landscape in this part of Afghanistan is breathtaking; you seem quite comfortable in this setting interacting with the locals and connecting with the children.
I was born in Afghanistan, but left my motherland when I was 18 years old. I have never been to Nuristan province, but I hope to be able to visit this gem one day. Be safe ❤❤

All your trips and interactions with local and rural Afghani people you have shared with us have been so entertaining and educating. Your sweetness, kindness, and motherly side to Afghani people and children have made you so special among CZcamsrs who have visited Afghanistan. Your heart belongs to them. @@kingofalltrollss They are not Afghans or Pashtuns, they are one of the ethnic groups and have their own language called Nurestani. The Afghan Ahmad Shah Durrani founded Afghanistan in 1747 after the death of Nader Shah Afshar, and he renamed the country from Khurasan to Afghanistan, so Afghans have no more than 200 years of history in today's Afghanistan. This is actually the land of the Tajiks, Uzbeks and Hazaras. The Persian and Turkic Empires have ruled over the country for more than 1000 of years. You can find out more about it on Wikipedia.

Inshallah Taliban will go extinct. We don't islamistic terrorists who only accept themselves and talk about Islam. Hazara, Pashtuns, Tajikis, Nuristani, Uzebk and more should come together and fight against Taliban..Sadly most of are cowards and USA give Afghanistan back to islamistic Taliban who don't practice real Islam.

@@ma-lm9vn Hello bro, I said the word "taliban" because the fighters of the pashtoon tribes are mostly from Efridi clan, that is a messianic prophecy, Ephraim is the firstborn son of G-d as stated in the book of Jeremiah, Chapter 31: "They shall come with weeping,
And with compassion will I guide them.
I will lead them to streams of water,
By a level road where they will not stumble.
For I am ever a Father to Israel,
      Ephraim is My first-born."
Efridis of Ephraimites were blessed by God to be the ones who will usher the Messianic days of Mashiach ben David, by defeating the kingdom the nation that no empire has ever been able to defeat, the Magogites (Ezekiel 38) which are basically, russians.
Sorry if you are not from Efridi clan, so it's understandable you don't like "violence". In my case, my heart craves for liquidate the enemies of G-d such as the Magogites.

It is interesting - she says "Gosh, life is hard here" all while the children are clearly joyful, laughing and with their family. You can go to a "rich" country and the kids have next to no family and fixed on their phones or video games with no link to their parents. Where is life hard?

They told me how hard life is , you won’t see that through children playing! Winters are brutal , they struggle for medical care, no books or pens in schools , no basic necessities, they struggle for food , heat , they asked for help from NGOS but most don’t make it that far … children always have fun, go yourself and talk to them and see how hard life is , no running water, no hot water .. little electricity … I am not talking about how hard life is for the children! Children won’t know any different till they grow up … I had one mother wanted me to take her daughter with me … and she was serious .. 😞

@@Azmaray547 yes I agree with you 100% , they have a community and they all live in harmony with each other , with family and friends which is something we don’t know or will ever understand in our “ western “ privileged world.. to live with them for a few days is something ok never forget, I also lived like this for a week In Kalash valley jn Pakistan a couple of years ago , and I envy their way of life in that respect , but getting to know them and how they lived meant that they also shared their struggles with me , how hard things were , especially in winter, they always had a struggle to make sure they had enough food to put on the tables to feed the children, to keep the house heated , the parents always struggled to get enough money to try and get their kids educated, that’s all they wanted.. like any parent, one mother here actually asked me to take one of her children with me .
That’s really not what I meant when I said they have nothing.. it was probably how I said it in the moment.. I know they are “richer” than me in many ways … life isn’t about how rich you are in “things “ .. They would love certain things that we take for granted , and vice versa. That’s just from my experiences spending time there . In particular it was the week in Kalash where I lived their life for a week that opened my eyes to many things and learned a lot. 😊😊

@@WanderingEmma You are right in what your saying. And have more credidentals than me on the subject due to your open mind and more perspective due to your travelling.
Yes the winter is harsh , and food as well to feed the many children. I also feel sorry for that mother who was going to give child away. This happens every Winter and it's is sad they don't have what the western people have and that there life is harder especially isolated areas like Nuristanis/Kalash (both are cousins like Scotland, Irish, English)
I also think however it's quiet a beautiful way. The west has everything (schools, Medicine, Homes) yet somehow unhappy and distant Nuristanis have hard life and little yet somehow a lot of them are happy. An intresting thought that is
I'd recommend you expand your journey Throughout the same Pashtun World and visit into the Pashtun Tribal areas of Pakistan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
These areas you'd need a local to get you in (I can arrange It for you). It's quiet fun, theyl treat you with our usual Hospitality in our culture. Fact is tourist haven't really been here. There are gun markets, Hash, local tribes, Beautiful mountains scenery and all. You'd love it if your up for an adventure. You've been to our areas in Afghanistan (Paktia, Khost, Kandahar, Nuristan and other areas), and our areas in Pakistan (Peshawar). Same ethnic group and people .
I'd recommend you visit our tribal areas.
Bajaur Agency, Orakzai Agency, Kurram, Mohmand Agency, Waziristan, and Khyber in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if your up for the Adventure

Mrs. Emma. Hiring a Pashtun translator who is fluent in Pashto would have been preferable. They could have communicated better with the local people. However, the current person doesn't know Pashto well, which may result in translation mistakes. Pashtun people are skilled in speaking multiple languages and excel in effective communication. Good luck 👍👍

Afghans are not white , they are a mixed race of people, the pseudo European looking ones are basically Andronovo relics but overall these types are what less than 5% of the population. You have not been to Ireland than ,they are famous for red hair and red hair non existent in Kalash related groups, blondism is more prevalent. Red hair is more prominent in Pashais and rural Pashtuns but again its not the norm. Here are genetic results of a Nuristani and the Scottish / Northern European ancestry is not from actual Scots but shared Corded Ware people because Corded Ware Indo Aryans were like Northern Europeans

      Afghans are white 😆 🤣
      Let's see....
      * Nuristanis* only 20% can be considered white European looking. The majority look like Persians.
*Tajiks* same as Nuristanis, especially in Panjsher and Badakhshan, only 20% look European.
*Hazara* mainly East Asian looking yet even the Hazara have some blonde people.
*Pashtuns* about 3% white European looking, 10% East Asian looking, 30% Indian and Pakistani looking while the remaining look more like Persians. Though some Pashtuns near Tajik and Nuristani mountain areas have a higher rate of blondes, especially amongst children.
