Thanks for this. I've never worked on a car before doing much of anything but the PO of my 2016 GTI used a pretty bad kit and the silicone parts are stretched and useless now. I'm getting awful boost leaks and I'm just going to replace all the charge pipes etc. So, hell of a first time project.
Did u end up taking up the diverter valve spacer
What is the reference for the K&N filter? I have the same intake
Have you considered a JB4 instead of a tune? I love how mine really livened up the car.
@@ColoredinLight JB4 is amazing. I was having issues with mine and I got a few codes and I sent them to George. Turns out it was a faulty harness and he’s sending me a new one free of charge. Best customer service out there!
Did you have an issue with the throttle pipe keep coming off on the passanger side coennecting to the intercooler?
Pros? Throttle response? Any cooler temps?
Havent really checked temps since it's still stock intercooler. I did this with plans for downpipe and wanted to best possible flow for the entire induction and exhaust system!
Does this make an effect to turbo sound?
It might contribute if you do the whole system. Intake, turbo muffler charge pipes and intercooler.
Why did you removed the bumper??
I did the front splitter install at the same time and it made everything way easier
I wanted to hear the car afterwards
Nothing wrong with it but charge pipe upgrade doesn't provide any benefit until you get into the 500+ horse power range.
I read somewhere in the internet there are gains at 10,000hp! Nothing wrong with your comment, is ae accurate as mine.
Late to the party here.
There is zero benefit on stock power nor upward on even an IS38 or +
There is no restriction to air flow until a reach for bigger turbos that are pushing well above 400whp.
Should have saved the $ and upgraded the IC. Tune & IC are the best bangs for your buck for power increase.
BTW - when you do upgrade your IC you'll will need NEW IC pipes to mate into the fittings 👍
Nice color. I just completed an AMS intercooler and EQT charge pipes with turbo muffler delete. So much more time consuming than I expected... worst part was taking out my battery and battery mount... then realizing I buried the positive cable and having to rip out my Cobb intake(Closed metal and massive pain in the ass... will replace down the road). I, like you, plan on adding a downpipe after the intake end of things. Have a stage 1 EQT tune(Only an intake and turbo inlet pipe), already having clutch slippage so will wait until I can afford a new clutch and mounts before going stage 2. Thanks for the uploads... these are invaluable for guys like me who have never attempted mechanics and want to build up a MK7.5 over the next few years.
Thanks for watching!!
