  • Footage of growing passion fruit in pot from seed to young plant over 100 days time lapse. The seed was extracted from a typical fresh passion fruit from our local grocery store. Remaining flesh on the seed was removed, and it was germinated in potting mix soil. It took over 10 days with water, simulating light and a temperature of around 80F for the seed to sprout and developing. Growing speed is increasing from there with multiple vines, leaves, and branches populating the mini trellis.

Very helpful video, but mine are not growing as fast. Would be helpful to know what was the temperature at various stages.
Mine took 3 weeks to sprout and the light is necessary to not get leggy sprouts.
Unfortunately our area as not been as warm as usual (55-70), and the sprouts are growing very slowly. After 100 days I have just started getting a second level.

That was awesome thoroughly enjoyed it. How many months went by. I've got a couple of going they are 1 year old they're about 7 ft tall but the Vines are the diameter of a spaghetti noodle. I'm not sure if I was supposed to prune them when they were younger to get the vines to grow bigger in diameter if so is it too late to cut them back or do I need to start over again from seed,

It's interesting that a cutting 1/3rd this size would already be flowering and have several fruits ripening. Seeds take a really long time to mature I guess.

They require warm temperatures, what are the conditions of its growth? Possibly it’s a soil problem? Or weak seedlings

    • @RobertBachrach

Google Translate: "My Maracuya seedlings are 9 months old and 7 cm tall. I want to say that it is impossible for them to grow this much in 100 days.
I think they require ambient temperatures in 80-90oF and a warm night time temperature.
