    Great review. I’ve got a hilux sr5 too. What brand rubbish bag with straps do you use? It’s given me an idea to buy one. I currently use disposable rubbish bags

    How are your BP-51's I have them on my N80 . My ute hasn't seen much off road mainly highway ks and the front shocks are leaking . Had them rebuilt and leaking again . The bushes are failing and it's never seen any water. The rears have been fine so far .

      @bruisercruiser23 Před rokem

      Hey Mark, Had the BPs in since new 6 years now. No oil leaking issues as Yet! Did have the front bushes replaced under warranty. Early on, have also had the Rear Springs change under warranty as well. Over all they have served me all with 130k under them now. and have thrown everything at them. Deep water crossings the lot. Looking at giving her an overhaul shortly and will most likely go away from the EMU gear. Cheers Tim

    Where do they sleep? Or did I miss that? A Tent? Swags?

    • @hamlet2554
      @hamlet2554 Před rokem +1

      @@grabmegear Roger that. I sleep in my canopy with a mattress over some drawers, though my type of set up is only good for one or two people.

    10x the gear he needs, unless the hilux is always breaking down?? (Edit: I was referring to his tools and spares)

    What about the gear on the roof

    • @bruisercruiser23
      @bruisercruiser23 Před rokem +1

      Hey Patrick,
      On the roof, ARB tradie rack with open ends
      Fitted are 2x 2.5x2.5 awnings
      Rack in home to my maxtrax recovery boards
      Also houses my shovel and swags when traveling and in the cooler months I throw my grab me gear fire wood bag up there as well as camp chairs. I don’t go over board, like to keep it as light as possible
      Cheers for reaching out 🤙🏻

      Hey Moses1988 cheers for reaching out mate
      Quick Fist rubber clamps. Most 4x4 shops sell then or even selected auto shops.
      Got mine from Opposite Lock 4x4
      Cheers

    Geez, carrying a lot of equipment? How heavy is he?

  • @johnhenson4054
    @johnhenson4054 Před rokem +3

    Great set up but having travelled remotely around Western Australia for the past 30 years in places that vehicles probably shouldn’t go, we would never travel with so much weight. Over geared to the max. For example, to carry a complete tool spanner kit is a non understanding that a hilux has about 4 different sizes. Extra weight for no reason.

    • @bruisercruiser23
      @bruisercruiser23 Před rokem +3

      Hey John, Cheers for Comment. Really is one of those things with what to carry, this is we choose. Many of time of travelling remote and come across unprepared travellers and being able to help out when in need is great. Hilux has been far and wide in WA, Parts of the Kimberly seen 80% Pilbara ect ect.
