This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.
You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! And they broke the record of their own with Bad Romance which seems toxic version of their Lazenca Save Us, winning 5 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs.
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.

Popera is a category included in crossover music which is crossing over different genres, singing styles, languages etc. Forestella did rock, pop, jazz, waltz, trot, tango etc and sang in Korean, English, Spanish, Italian, French, Russian, even isiZulu (one of African languages) and the members are from various musical background like classical vocal (1 leggiero tenor and 1 basso profondo), 1 musical actor (159th King of the Masked Singers) and 1 rocker (with beautiful soprano head voice falsetto)

I just discovered them on day one of MAMA. I had never heard of them before. Now I KNOW. And I can go back and listen to all their songs and concerts. Talk about professional music talent. They should write a musical theatre show for them. A complete musical play. I should write it. I am a musical theatre person. I can appreciate their music knowledge, their musical prowess, their music theory they engage, their outstanding sound quality with vocal charisma and perfection. They wowed me singing their version of "Fake Love". I hope someone makes sure BTS and Big Hit mgmt sees this performance! I can see Jimin choreographing and dancing a contemporary compliment to their poetic and stunningly exquisite version of "Fake Love". So glad I found them. I am sharing with all!
They were on a classical artists agency for a few years after they won Phantom Singer 2. After the natural expiry of that contract, they signed with Beat Interactive - the same agency as ACE - who are marketing them more on the pop circuit. BTW, they are just about the only groups at MAMA singing live live, as you can tell easily. Belting the shit out of the song "Save Our Lives".

진짜 포레 팬이라서 행복하고 자부심 드는 순간이었어요. 내가 낳은 내 자식도 아닌데 괜히 뿌듯하고 그래요. 친구 집에서 마마 봤는데 친구도 친구 동생도 같이 입덕해버린 거 있죠?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 친구 동생 고우림님이 최애 됐는데… 우림님 유부야… 울 연느님 부군이시란다… 이럼ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 역대급 무대 퀄리티 미쳤고요… 목소리로 빵빵하게 채운 무대 너무 좋아요. 마마 무대라 더 웅장한 세아라도 최고고 헤메코도 미쳤고 무대 연출도 최고고 넘 좋아요. 이걸 방구석에서 공짜로 봐도 되나 싶어서 티빙 질렀어요. 티빙으로 다시 보기 할려고요

이들의 세대에 살고있다는것이 가슴벅차게 행복하고 감동적인 순간이 많다.
그리고 조용히 , 무섭게 성장하고있는 포레도 요즘 나에겐 그런존재.
마마라는 무대에 서리라 상상도 못했던 5년전 우리가, 눈부시게 아름다운 길을 거쳐 여기까지왔네.
앞으로 5년후엔 얼마나 빛나는 아티스트가 되어있을지, 그땐 정말 닿지않는 하늘의별이 될 것 같아 가끔 슬플때도(?)있지만 ㅎㅎ ,
포레의 역사적인 순간순간들을 함께 겪고있는것같아 아주 행복하고 뿌듯한 요즘인🥰
