Was 11 years old when that guitar was built. Always wanted one, but never had the recourses. You did it justice Jack
Jack is soooo Smooth and knowledgeable. I sure Jen enjoys taping him because he is so Personable!
Excellent guitar and Jack did it justice. It was great to hear the guitar in it's natural tones without being drenched in reverb as most of these demos are.
Jack Ryan Sullivan- God bless you for mentioning Leon Rhodes. What a dear, sweet man. I met him while he was playing at Ernest Tubb record shop one Saturday afternoon. Love Leon and Epiphone Sheratons.
He was such an amazing man. I still keep in touch with his wife, Judi. I’ll have to forward this over to her.
Norm! You're looking great! We love you and wish you well--always. Live well, brother.
Norm, you're looking better and stronger each appearance. Good to see the sparkle returning to your smile. Good work by all in the shop, so, play on.
Right on I love epiphone guitars
With short headstock this is one of the most beautifull guitar I ever seen...
More Jack......PLEASE!!!!
The finish is impeccable. Ultra proper sunburst! Great sounding mini-hum buckers.
Great playing and what an epic guitar.
Beautiful vintage Epiphone guitar. JRS does it right….
You'll have to get Jack to make more videos, he's great
Jack is a great player. I love his excitement over this Epiphone. We need more of Jack doing guitar of the day.
Great playing…I did get a chuckle ….that Es guitar sounded like a tele in his hands…amazing!
great Guitar and playing Jack. Norm! you look Great Sir! and that's Awesome.
That one's gorgeous. I have an early '60s Epi catalog with models like this! I appreciate your "man of faith" comment!! And very nice playing. I played a few break songs from the early-to-mid-sixties.
Thank you!
You are right it's too cool, those mini-humbuckers make it nice and snappy in the Treble and warm and glowy un the Rhythm. Thanks for sharing that super playing too
Doggone it JRS…you twanged that E-61 beautifully!
Love ya Norm. So glad your back and doing well. I cannot wait to be a future customer
Thank you for taking me to Twang Town.
I thought that was Chumlee from pawn stars at first lol. Looking good Norm, glad you're doing well.
Thanks for the clarification. Thought you meant Tennessee Tuxedo's sidekick. 😁
Jazzy! JRS is great: versatile, nuanced and has "roots". Thanks for the demo.
I'm as American as they come but somehow when I listen to Jack I get 38% more American
That Jazz piece on the neck pick up was so damn beautiful
My late mom and dad's favorite Ernest tubb. They had all his albums
Man, that's a beauty - John Lee Hooker liked them too. Great playing !!
I was born in 1961. Would love to get this guitar.
I came looking for Thumpin' Thursday but was treated to this beautiful guitar. I wonder who the lucky new owner is. 🤔
Jack, You did a great job playing the epiphone Sheraton! I like how on the first note you played, A customer behind you had to turn around and listen.
Thanks Jack, Norm and of course Jen! I look forward to this every day. I love that Epiphone. Absolutely beautiful!
Great demo! Beautiful guitar and crisp tones. Jack is sounding great.
Norm broke my heart when he said "this guitar is not available"... damn...😅
Nice that you're letting us here the clean sound.
Thanks for showing us this guitar, nice playing too. I've seen Leon Rhodes on you tube playing a Sheraton, thanks for the history.🙏😷🎶❗👀
Love Sheratons and Rivs with the mini.humbuckers.
Ah, lovely playing Jack. What a beautiful guitar. Glad Norm is getting better and back in the office. We hope to see you soon.
Wow ! Beautiful guitar, amazing sound , Thankyou for the demo
fantastic guitar played marvelously!
This is one of 21 1961 shade tremolo guitars. Could definitely be the best one.
My first guitar I still have it beautiful
Beautiful Sheraton! Love your videos I never miss em!! Hope I win the Tshirt ! I’d wear it proudly xxl!
Oh man!!!! Leon is my absolute favorite picker!! I am so glad to hear you mention him, he deserves all the respect as a picker and as a person you could give him. I was raised on ET and the troubadours albums. That guitar is priceless in my opinion.
That was fantastic~! You're looking great Norm!
The old USA Epiphones were great guitars, it’s a shame that now most people associate the name with Gibsons more affordable range, but good to see Gibson now making USA versions again, but with a price tag to go with it.
Norman your color is better and you look like you have a desire for life like never before. Life our precious time we chose to spend. Norman I think your going to be out of them woods soon.
Thanks for letting us see it Norm..... great job Jack..... thanks Jen !!!
Perfect song for a perfect guitar, amazing amazing amazing
I’ve been watching Guitar Of The Day since Mark Agnesi was doing it. This has got to be the coolest guitar you’ve ever done. I started playing in 1962, started collecting catalogs almost right away. I had an Epiphone catalog from maybe ‘64, snd the Sheraton was the one I lusted over. I’ve never owned one, but I did have a ‘61 Epiphone Broadway in the mid-‘70s. Another one I wish I’d kept, but I did OK-I traded it in on a ‘59 Tele. I’d love to see Epiphone do a proper reissue of the Sheraton, or maybe the three-pickup thin-body Emperor..
The necks on the those early Sheratons were actually left over from Epiphones pre Gibson days. Love Leon's work he is one of my favorite players.
Norm your looking good.love your shows.the best paul
Jack’s demos are throughly enjoyable
Great demo & commentary
You're looking great Norm, hope you are at your best soon. X
Excellent guitar 🎸 great show
Honestly, I have a true 1960 Sheraton. Idk if it's cuz the woods been together for so long but it plays better than any Gibson es I've ever tried yet
Jake that was an earful Thank you . Norm’s sure back in the swing of things 👍🏻👍🏻☮️
Nice appropriate playing Jack. That is one lovely machine.
Hey Norm, great to see you! Enjoyed the playing of the Sheraton, well done. It's funny though because when I think of a Sheraton I tend to think of Roye Albrighton of Nektar fame. He was a master with that guitar in a completely different style of music from what Jack played. Roye and his band had their own unique style of progressive rock with a lot of effects like Leslies and echoplex and fuss but I always liked the tone of his guitar, clean and not so clean.
I have a few of these , great guitars, With new pickups they’re every bit as good as any 335.
great playing jack. more vids of this guy playing....... brill.
excellent demo, Jack!
Beautiful guitar
Norm looking great buddy 👍🏻
Oh jack u take me to twang town anytime you're my kind of guitar player and if I never win a t shirt that's ok
The old, good Epiphone! How could Gibson so destroy this brand? PS. Norm looks stronger and stronger with every week. ;)
Epiphone is back now making high end models..customs Modern figured prophecy and Crestwood Models since 2019
It's mostly the Gibson fan boys they need to get use to it and over it it's not ever going to change..
@@mr.astrophysics9115 I wouldn’t call what they’re making ‘high end models’, they’re more higher low end guitars, but still more on the entry level side. I have a fantastic 2021 Epiphone Les Paul Custom, but it’s a dog compared to my early 70’s Gibson Les Paul Custom. There is a certain feel that the American guitars have that only very few have ever matched; Fender Japan and Epiphone Elitist models being those.
The Chinese/Indonesian/Korean guitars can be pretty good, but they’re not USA Gibsons. They’re intentionally made to a lesser quality.
Damn good pickin', Jack!
Going to Nerdville I bet, all of the really clean stuff does.
Fantastic video
Chumlee on guitar!
Damn that's a great guitar....whachu want for it?... ahh damn Norm just said it's sold. I wanted that one 😪
If Gibson reissued this in the Epiphone line I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Especially if they keep the headstock shape and the inlays. And I love the wood plate on the wiggle stick.
Lemmo is a superb technician, but Jack really plays from the heart! Got two Epiphone Emporers- a '45 & '47. Don't need amps with these- they are LOUD!
Only a couple years into playing, but I already have an original 1938 Epiphone Electar Coronet amplifier that is mostly original. Nowhere near good enough to see what it's fully capable of
Trent Reznor also plays Epiphone Sheratons!
A LOT OF FOLKS NOW HAVE NO IDEA WHAT A BREAK SONG IS ANYMORE
I DID A CHITLIN VERSION OF IT
JUST LIKE NORMS OLD BAND
COOL PLAYING THERE JACK
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SOUND NORM
CARLOS GUITARLOS 90042 USA
Well you learn something new every day if you keep your eyes open and tune into GOTD! Who knew that PAFs came in the mini size? I didn't think they came along until 1970 or so. Live and learn.
For a moment I though this was a Pawn Stars and Norm collab 😁
👌
When you move your wiggle stick, and you hear "tink," your guitar needs a little attention.
Wow, beautiful guitar and played wonderfully too, is that one going to someone with the initials JB, by any chance?
Minis not PAF? Gorgeous guitar! Thank you!
MiniPAF is a fair name. They even have an identical PAF (and later PAT#) sticker. I have one of these as well.
Now we're talking the great Epiphone!
Norman if you say a guitar is the nicest guitar in the world it says you like Gibson 335! And I see why!
One of my favorite guitars but why does the Sheraton not have inlays past the 15 fret?
Always parchel to the Epiphones
I always wondered that myself. Once you notice it you can't unsee it. The Sheraton 2, even though it's an oversees model, "fixed" some issues with the original. Namely the stop tailpiece and the humbuckers. I don't understand why the inlays on the Sheraton 2 still stop at the 15 the fret!
Chum lee?
Another great guitar ," Not for sale. Going to a close friend." Can I be your friend Norm? It's such a tease to have guitars coming out of the warehouse and not available. Boo hoo..
Nice playing by Jack, as usual.
because i have no clue.....how much?
how nice ??
And if it wasn't for les paul and Epiphone Gibson les paul wouldn't exist I suggest you research Epiphones history and reading up on Les Paul's The Log guitar..he invented in the Epiphone factory in 1940 into 41 10 years before McCarty and Gibson got involved with anything with Les Paul..and there's a lot more..the Log was the ground work for the future Gibson Les Paul
I actually met Les Paul when I was 19. I knew then at the time just what his contributions meant to the music and guitar industry. He was one of my biggest heroes, and still is.
@@jackryansullivan6038 I saw him live at the Jazz Club in New York March 2009..he was incredible and told the story between him and Epiphone this is why the Gibson boys can't spread there nonsense anymore..more and more are into Epiphone and its history with les paul himself...long before Gibson
Did BB king have a shariton
No, but John Lee Hooker did.
@@mattrogers1946 ooh ... Boogie Chill'un... Time to q up some JLH
Holy crap its chumlee...lmao, no hate...great chops tho.
Just terrible this great guitar sat in a warehouse for 35 years.
Thank God that it did and is still clean for someone to really appreciate it. It missed the mods and all the abuse.
You probably want a broken one that had 8 owners over the last 3 decades
These aren't just made in the USA, they are vintage guitars. Whole nother ball game. But yeah, you gotta pay to play. Welcome to the market economy. Korea ain't gonna cut it. Like China is gonna "make" 60's qulalty guitars. Thanks for the laugh.
Made in the USA doesn't mean Jack squat anymore hasn't for a while..professional quality made guitars are everywhere and just as good and in many cases better than American made guitars...that's just the way it is now and it's not ever going to change..some of you are a decade behind the times...
What horseshit, you get what you pay for. Buy something nice or buy something twice...
@@mattrogers1946 your behind in the times buddy no one buys into the bs so stop trying
@@mr.astrophysics9115 Yeah, keep thinking your Chinese Squire Strat or Ali Express Les Paul made in a sweat shop with child slave labor matches up with the genuine article. You're deluded...
Where do you get yours...from china?
@@johnsmith-bk4ps first off my Epiphones from the Qingdao Epiphone facility is Run and operated by American Master luthier Scott Lewis and American luthiers..that's right...and the Qingdao facility is state of the Art and completely owned by Gibson Epiphone the building and ground are designated American property..there are Asian luthiers there also but they all have no less than 10 years of experience..it's no different than Gibson having Mexican workers..so any questions feel free to ask..Scott Lewis has been with Epiphone Gibson 46 years..
And it goes out of tune….
Astounding instrument...mini pafs gold parts what more could you want - or bands like the Beatles Oasis etc. guest appearance from norm you can tell it has kudos. The delicate quality of the tone takes you back to an old record - it pays to get there early with norm for deals like this - they always go early - norms channel preserves for time the sweetness of the tone these guitars make...tomorrow it will be Lemmo playing Van Halen on a pink bc rich. Such is norms...New cover - 'Losing my Religion" on my channel - see top. the Cat
I'm trying to inbox you back , but I can't seem to make it work . I 'll keep trying.
Man, I need to get down there for norm to sell me a sick SG….
