- Beirut Governor Marwan Abboud said Wednesday that it was too early to determine how much damage was caused by the explosions that ripped across Lebanon, but he said a single port would cost at least $3 billion.
"It is too early because every second we are seeing more and more things that were destroyed. But a rough estimate would be more than $5 billion," Abboud told Al Arabiya English.

It's amazing how they survived after being so close to the source of the explosion. But the part that hits me the hardest was the near silence right after the second explosion. Knowing that many had died at that moment or were seriously injured. It still gives me chills....
She seems like such a beautiful person! Her concern for the safety and well-being of those nearest the fire, sounds 100% genuine.

I feel pretty bad for the woman. She wanted to get away from the window, but stayed trying to make sure her husband got inside and away from the window, and was injured because of it.
I woulda've shouted "I love you and I'll never forget you!" as I retreated as far into the building as I could get. She was pulling on his arm towards the end because of the camera movements. But nah. Big bad man ain't scared of nothing 😏

That's why men experience 'man pain', when you are certain you're right about something that is potentially dangerous but you scoff at it and then you spend two months in the hospital for your stupidity. I would suspect that neither of them have the hearing they once had now, but he is fortunate that he was not behind any kind of glass when the shock wave passed through.
It shows why you need to listen to your wife's instinct to protect. I just hope they are okay and will recover to what injury they had. Prayers to those who were lost during this tragedy, i can't imagine the feelings of the people in the epicenter.

The woman in the video is so caring of others. From what I read on the reports, she went down a flight of stairs to save Imad (even though they were both critically injured) I think he is very lucky to have such a woman. Rest in peace to all who died

It was frightening after seeing this explosion from farther viewpoints when this video began.
It is a miracle they are alive.

The way she was talking to imad and the maid at the same time. it makes it really easy to mistake her talking to a son. She also uses alot of the tone and words you would say to a child.
Its depressing to see the maid get no spotlight even tho she was injured just as badly. Maids in lebanon and the middle east are not treated well at all and are seen as less than most of the time. of course there are people in lebanon who treat maids right, but there are no laws or protections for these workers. So there is a history of abuse towards them.

This documentary goes into detail about the topic. It can be biased at some points but it is also brutality honest. alot of the people injured in this blast were the maids and it is sad to see them pushed to the side in the media right now.

The lady woke up later and dragged her husband 10 flights of stairs while being severely injured. The lady had 3 hours of surgery, the man had 6. They both are making a recovery.

If you go frame by frame during the final and bigger explosion. You can see the warehouse buildings in front and closest to the warehouse that exploded being basically turned to ash from the impact. Scary stuff.

I read many articles on this. They were 585 meters away. Imad had to be carried down the apartment stairs on an improvised broken door stretcher. They both survived though.
Lina Alameh seems like such a wonderful person, so much care for others! And then on top of that, she's a hero - her husband Imad only survived because of her. She was very badly injured but woke up after the blast to find him bloody all over and even more severely injured, with more broken bones than her. She dragged herself (literally - she couldn't even really walk the whole way) down 10 flights of stairs to enlist help to get her husband down and to a hospital. So glad to hear that they survived!
Imad, maybe you’ll listen to your woman for once after this experience, hearing her beg him to come back from the window is so frustrating she’s clearly very concerned and distressed.

They were seriously injured, but yeah they made it to a hospital and they both survived.
