I bought this guitar a year ago :) absolutely love it. I since upgraded the pickups to Tonerider Alnico II classic zebras (the cream+black zebras esthetically looks great with the cream bindings on the guitar and tonally sound great). It's light weight is a huge plus. It feels half as heavy as my CV 50s Strat.
I bought this guitar and it just arrived last night. Honestly i wasn't expecting a lot since i only paid $159. and on top of that it came with a ten dollar coupon making it just $149. After allowing it to acclimate a few hours i plugged it in and was pleasantly surprised at the warm yet punchy tone of the guitar. Build quality for such an inexpensive guitar was very nice. I have a couple Gibson LP's and although they do sound better, they also cost more than ten times the price of this little beauty. In all honesty this little gem isn't that far behind on sound. All in all i would say to anyone wanting a very nice guitar to use for practice or fun, get one. Thanks for the good video too. Subscribed!
The DLP-124 is based off the 'Epiphone Les Paul Special', but arguably nicer as Donner has the cream binding whereas the ELPS does not. I have the Donner Sunburst version, I love it - and I'm no beginner.
I'm quite broke but have been wanting to get another Les Paul style guitar and have been interested in the DLP 124B or the IYV 300g. Dang i'm gonna have to get both! They sound so good. This one wins the style points for me though i really love the black and Cream color scheme!
I got mine on eBay, Donner "factory refurb," guaranteed. the strings were loose, the neck was not straight, and there is a hump in the frets at 2,3,4,&5. I messaged the problems, and they sent a standard reply that didn't address the problems. It was $70 with coupon, so I am going to fix it and scrape the logo off.
That’s a good question … I’d probably recommend getting it done by a professional as you’d have to move the screws at the bridge. Haven’t tried the DST-100L but at least you know it will work out of the box! :)

I'd say it is a good choice for a first guitar. I have been playing for over fifty years and i enjoy playing mine.

An Epiphone is still going to be much higher quality.

What a good amo for this eith lower tones?
Hmm, how easy would it be to reverse this guitar to be left-handed? Especially for a beginner? Or would the Donner DST-100L be a better alternative?
