- If you're looking for a mountain bike destination and you are new to the sport, Dupont state forest in western North Carolina has mtb trails for beginners to expert. Most of the trails are in the beginner to intermediate range and are well marked, not to technical,
mostly smooth flow trails with many waterfalls and lakes makes this one of our favorite places to to ride.

I live 3 hours from there and try to hit it a few times a year. Just to let you both know there is a Red Roof Inn in Hendersonville which is only 15 miles from there, price is great and the best part is they're 'bike friendly' so you can bring in your 7 grand a piece bikes in the room with you so no need to worry about having attached to the back on your vehicle. I sold my 2019 Instinct BC maybe 8 months ago and thinking of either a 2021 Yeti SB-115 or a 2021 RM Instinct carbon 90, i can get serious prices on both, at age 66 probably the last trail/FS bike i will buy. I was at Dupont a few years ago and saw 2 cubs and then the 'Momma so i did a QUICK 180 and rode 20 mins then came back down. I have been up to Isaac, etc. a few times, very scenic, i have those signs posted to my FB page, Tarkiln branch, etc. too
Glad you found Hickory Mtn Loop in great shape. The Friends of Dupont Forest trail volunteers put a ton of effort into that trail this summer.

Welcome to NC. Mountain Creek trail had the same issue for couple months.
SO much drier than when I was there end of August. Got rained out by Tropical Storm Fred, but man you all had fantastic trail conditions.

i ride dhr 2's front and rear 2.6 front 2.4 rear , Kate rides dhf front and aggressor on rear. thanks for watching....we are loving the new subaru!
I always go down Hooker Creek to Ridgeline, up to Hickory, and then down a Ridgeline.

hey k five, awesome vid. i bike in north carolina all the time. i just got back from tasali. i like brayson city nc. been trying to get up to brevard. i have talked with you before on here. you said ya'll get up there only about 2 times a year. i mean ya'll post vids from there more than that. but that's what it's about. i am riding a trek rosco7, it's a fun ride . stricly trail bike. runn'in fat tires. its awesome. now a question, how does dupont compare to tasali? pisga is up there to. i like the trails ya'll ride. i am a good rider, i just don't like way over the edge tech'y stuff. i can do tech , but i like flow and mid tech kind of rides. how is the town of brevard? you are way lucky to be rid'in with a pretty chic as your rid'in partner. good luck and stay safe. keep on keep'in on!!!1

@@kfivemtb awesome dude. ahe can ride too. i really like ya'lls vids. i herd pisah was gnarly too. i want to ride some trail called cedar rocks in dupont. i rode a lot of slick rock when worked in utah a years back. i rode the famous slickrock trail. but thats way out there, and i really like north carolina. i live in mid ga, so i am not far from brevard or cherokee nc. i just got back from tasali a month ago. keep on keep;in on. and be safe.
