Ex-KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch rejoined his former bandmates on stage earlier tonight (Saturday, May 5) at the Carolina Rebellion festival at the legendary Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina to perform the band's classic song "Blind". This marked the first time in seven years that Welch and KORN played together.
Welch left KORN in 2005 to become a born-again Christian after years of hard drug and alcohol abuse while in the band.
Although Welch has a new band called LOVE AND DEATH, both he and KORN bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu have said that a reunion could be possible one day under the right conditions.
Welch was recently asked by Loudwire what he thought of the recent drama last month at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, where GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose refused to attend the ceremony and be inducted with his former bandmates. Welch - who left KORN seven years ago - replied that if KORN ever got nominated to the Hall, the situation would be very different.
Welch explained, "I've thought about that over the years and I'm friends with them now. I talk to them pretty regularly, so I don't think it would be a big deal for me to go and play a classic or two. I don't understand grown men who are close to 50 years old having issues like that. It just floors me that you can't at some degree, be civil. It's just beyond me. I don't understand that, but you know, everyone is different, I don't judge them. We all have our issues."
KORN will be eligible for induction into the Hall in 2019, 25 years after the 1994 release of the band's self-titled debut album.

He took his daughter to this festival to see Evanescence, and got into a conversation with Munky, who he hadn't seen in 7 years. The other guys came over and after more conversation, they said there was a guitar set up for him if he wanted. He agreed to do Blind as the set's end, and they've become friends again. Motive, reconciliation and reuniting with old friends.
That's such an awesome story. I can only imagine how exciting it must have been for everyone in the crowd to see Brian "Head" Welch back on stage playing one of their most iconic songs.

He can be in Korn and still be a force for God. He still holds prayer meetings with fans, other artists, ect right at the concerts. He has to embrace some of the dark, but that only leads him to get close to those most lost. The man is an inspiration to me, all of Korn members are. They're new stuff isn't nearly as bad as the old stuff, and its not like he is parading around with someone claiming to be the antichrist like Marilyn Manson or anyone. He is a force for good and this is how God choose to use him. Tree's break if they don't bend some. We are all made to bend.

We were there and it was so fucking awsome. It was great to see Head back but the whole concert was awsome. My husband and i have been to see many concerts but i have to say that this was the best!!!
I had vip passes to see korn on side stage after this show. I was hoping head would pop out but it didn't happen. As part of my vip pass, PH was allowed to have sessions in the tour bus and got to speak to JD. He said he enjoyed that show and it was also an emotional moment. He also said moving forward with korn he will continue with dub step stuff. I love this video and will always love Brian.!
I pray that HEAD reunites with KoRn and produce some real KoRn material! ;___;
Damn. Been waiting a long time to see this happen. Knew it would eventually, but never thought it would take this long. Doubt they'll ever truly reunite, but it's a start.

Alright Christians, you need to calm down with all the butthurting. Plenty of rock stars do their rock star thing nowadays without abusing drugs. Anyway, I haven't listened to Korn since I was 15, but I'm glad to see friends reunited. This is really a great thing, because if Welch was able to take time off and find his center, maybe discover a bit more about himself, then he came back a stronger man. He probably realized that getting high wasn't why he picked up a guitar in the first place, but rather his love of creating music, especially with his best friends. If he has found his appreciation for what's real in life, then I'm happy to see a group of lifelong friends back together, creating music again. If you are unhappy about that because of your religion, then you should re-examine your faith and ask yourself what good it does you or anybody else.
I am sold out for Jesus and this moment could not make me more proud!!!!
I'm Christian, and followed that band for over 17 yrs now. This makes me happy to see Head back with his brothers. It's the Christians that some like to call "Critical Christians." Basically, they point judgment everywhere/everyone but not at themselves. Making other Christians look bad. Anyways, it's awesome to see him back and the gang sober, and working on music again. Wow. I wasn't prepared for this. That shit was fuckin' awsome. This whole weekend has just been a roller coaster ride on crack. 1st I saw The Avengers on Friday which was facemeltingly awsome, then I get home to find out that MCA of the Beastie Boys died of cancer which just brought my mood wayyy down, then Sunday I got to see the Foo Fighters live which was just fucking amazing, and then now I find out that somewhere during all of that Head played with Korn for the 1st time in 7 years. Wow...

I saw them last year and they played an amazing show. Head is playing shows here and there with them again, and David is retired for good. Everyone else agrees that Ray is just as good and the best replacement possible for Korn.

I am a Christian and I am a metalhead and was far from butt hurt when this happened. He has one hell of a testimony and takes time to meet with fans and even pray with them. Brian has my respect. since they changed their name paralyzed is their best song. but the first album the band is named Brian Head Welch *as he made all the music, drums vocals guitars ect* and got a band after. The first album, save me from myself, is perfect from start to finish
