  • We're casting a .41 cal. 210 grain SWC. We timed the machine at just over 3000, 210 grain bullets per hour. The machine with 4 molds, 2 fans, and a 100 pound lead pot can keep up at the 3000 bullet/hour rate easily, as it's the same set up as what's on the Mark II auto-matic machine that does well over 3000/hr. What will determine actual speed is how fast and how long you can pull the lever for. Almost any type of mold can be adapted to go on the machine. Magma style molds are the only ones that require no machining to make them work. The machine also works with Ballisti-Cast hollow point molds.

    I see on your web site you are not taking orders? Is this temporary, because of the political crunch on ammunition and reloading equipment? I also noticed that "The machine works with Ballisti-Cast hollow point molds", which I am interested in, but do not see information listed on your website?
    Any ideas when an order can be placed?

    Can you manufacture moulds to suit other shapes besides bullets, say a fishing sinker? If so I may have a product that would suit the technology.

    • @GunFunZS
      @GunFunZS Před 8 lety +1

      +F3 Industrial Design The molds can be cut into other shapes. I've done similar for jewelry parts using magma caster blank mold blocks. If you are thinking of split shot sinkers, those need a seperate second operation in which the split at the front and back is cut in. However, casting the initial shot is very doable.

      +GunFun ZS Thanks GunFun ZS. I'll keep that in mind.

    • @GunFunZS
      @GunFunZS Před 8 lety +1

      I think commercially most of those are swaged from lead wire. A machine cuts off chunks of a predetermined length, a die pushes it into a slug, that's rounded in the next die and a final die cuts the splits in. Something on that order.

    • @scotfarley2305
      @scotfarley2305 Před 8 lety +1

      +GunFun ZS That's good to know, I had put some serious thought into that process but couldn't get regular wire here so would have had to extrude my own and then it all got too hard. I have ended up designing a new type of tool and will see how that goes. It is manual atm but can be automated when necessary. Thanks for your help.
