The worst part all this is rockstar is taking off the original versions of San Andreas off the store so people can buy the new version instead, I rather play the PS2 version on console then the moblie remastered version which doesn’t even look good and buggy as all hell. Definitive is better but still it’s such a low bar, the fact mods are probably going to save that mods where it will add music that was taken out of the og version. They couldn’t even replace the music lost!

Take Two and Rockstar aren't interested in delivering a high quality product when it comes to remasters. Their only interest is profits. In their eyes, hiring a cheap inexperienced mobile porting studio was far more advantageous to them than actually releasing a proper remaster. Guarantee they made enough money off those broken remasters to not care in the slightest what the consumers thinl. As long as they made profit, they don't need to care. I'm not saying that's right, but that's a realist reason.

But unpaid modders who this for free still made the better product BY FAR. And the fact that the definitive edition came AFTER these mods just drives home the fact that the studio is really subpar and lazy.
They have 100s of employees supposedly working so hard yet one person did this…..
This is why I love the modding community, literally doing Rockstars job better than they do. This is insane!

@@gagekirk7791 All those people showcasing graphic mods should really stop overusing the wet version of the mods. It makes people think the mod adds them by default. Turns out when I downloaded one of those mods, there's a folder for low, medium, high quality, and one that's apparently for showcasing. Only the showcasing folder made everything wet, rest is normal.

Not even looking at the Definitive Edition, the recent GTA 5 Updates introduced new glaring issues they haven't addressed. For months now, if you're on X Box, the game could just randomly decide to stop registering your inputs and you have to restart the game to get it working again. Fat luck if you're on a heist and one of your teammates has this problem.
The thing that grinds my gears the most is that whole GTA 5 networking debacle. Like, it took them an entire decade to start implementing IP shielding. If you played GTA 5 on PC prior to this year, unless you were using a VPN or a virtual machine, you were at constant risk of a hacker easily seeing your IP and then doing god knows what with that information. Even if you took precautions to protect your IP yourself, there's still the fact that the archaic networking of the game also allowed hackers to just invade your private sessions if they know what they're doing.

A re master is just to make a original piece of art way better then before, taking out any mistakes upgrading colors & graphics (I KNOW GRAPHICS STILL DONT LOOK GOOD ITS ABOUT ALMOST 2 DECADES OLD) A remake is where they start the game over from scratch & make it way different but with the same original idea.

Also there are no normal maps (bumpmaps). Those are the blue and purple textures you see in games that make surfaces bumpy by darkening and lighting the parts of it depending on the colors. The GTA SA engine RenderWare doesn't have any support for this, and the first games that used normal maps were around 2004 (hl2, doom 3) even though bumpmaps go back to halo 1 in 2001. But someone could probably get it to work because I can see voxel lighting from gta 4 and 5. Bumpmaps would be harder to implement because you would have to make normal maps for *every texture* so it wouldn't be worth it.

Somehow this modded version of the game IS how I remember the game's graphics looking when I played it all those years ago! Love this weird uncanny valley feel in the aesthetic of the game. Totally amazing work by the modders!
