    I think that the average American should ask themselves this question : "Who has benefitted from America's domestic and foreign policy over the last 40 years?". MILLIONS, both foreign and domestic, have either suffered horribly or they have been smugly ignored and manipulated. America's current "electoral process" is an unapologetic refutation of most of the cherished beliefs that most of us were inculcated with as naive children. Beautiful benign ideas are compelling. Real-world contemporary reality is another story. It is a story that is ignored, denied, or obfuscated and cynically manipulated. As a result, We the People have been "herded and domesticated". Our up-coming presidential election is the final coup-de-grace in the demise of American democracy that we were assured as children that was "OF, BY, and FOR" the PEOPLE!

      Now, check out the Russian, Chinese, Iranian or North Korean "electoral processes". If you want to see "herded people", those are great places to start. When you return home you'll feel so grateful to live where you do...

    We in Germany have solutions. Economically we have the right organisations beyond autocratic structure. It is called: Genossenschaften. Politically we have to go out of NATO, the US - empire has to leave our country. And we want to have a good relationship with Russia, we go out of the present EU, and into BRICS. Building up our energy - autonomy.

    • @johaquila
      @johaquila Před 9 dny +1

      Cooperatives (the English word for Genossenschaften) aren't a uniquely German phenomenon. I agree that they are generally a good thing. But unfortunately they are not a panacea. With a population that is not aware of why cooperatives are needed, even the best cooperatives can often not compete against companies recklessly employing unfair business practices. A more fundamental problem is that cooperatives can degenerate in exactly the same ways that a democratic state can degenerate, and will do so much faster if they do not get a lot of attention. Unlike public elections, I have never, ever been able to make an informed decision in the internal elections of a cooperative (or my German public health insurer or similar elections).
      This problem could perhaps be solved by a single, huge cooperative taking over large part s of life and correspondingly getting a lot of attention. Or several of them competing with each other. But even so this could run afoul of anti-monopoly legislation.

      You've "mixed economy" in Sweden. In France. In Norway. In Poland. In Finland. In Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal... You have it every where in Europe.
      You have it in the EU. And in Turkey. Israel, Egypt, South Africa, Japan, Australia, Indonesia, India, Brazil... You have it everywhere in the world!
      Hudson!? Who needs Hudson?
      China developed while it put communism aside. Now that imbecile Xi - who belives to be the new Mao, along with the widespread corruption in the CCP, the whole economy is going down the drain. Nothing new: whenever and wherever communism prevails, misery, poverty, under-development pumps up.

    • @tonyp2096
      @tonyp2096 Před 9 dny

      @samaval9920 I'm sure China is using mixed economy. China struggled as a fully socialist country and economy under Mau or whatever his name is. They changed their plan, allowing investors to invest. China isn't soley socialist economy. Might be socialist country when it comes to rule of law to it's citizens, but definitely not socialist when it comes to it's economy.

    Win or lose, left wing or right, oligarchic control of humanity's future is locked in. The built-in inequities of performative electoral politics will only ensure its continuing success. The very concept pf democracy has become little more than a "football" kicked around by well-heeled individuals to captivate those who are sitting in the cheap seats.

    • @andrenogueira5058
      @andrenogueira5058 Před 9 dny

      The very concept pf democracy... is as valid as ever - even more so when we have China or Russia (Iran and North Korea), disgusting totalitarian regimes, proclaiming themselves as democracies.
