I fucking love this podcasts, best part of my Friday afternoon (here in Australia)
Chris Cooper's 2 car garage was so next level !!! I couldn't stop laughing and he kept adding on and adding on... Well played sir 👏👏
This for me is like the adult version of getting up early back when you were a kid in order to watch saturday morning cartoons in your PJ's. Except now with added coffee and on a friday
Mr. Lovett smashed the two car garage this week. That's brilliantly evil 😂😂
The fact that I have listened to all of these yet start over at episode 1 during my day to day and wait for Fridays to the new episode says it all. If your thinking about cars all day anyways then this is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
That 2 car garage was the funniest you have delivered in 26 episodes! Well done .
This podcast has become my favourite of all time and i'm sure Neil Clifford is my brother from another mother. 🚗🚘🚙
Did you have the same uncle? 😂
@@PSUK997 underrated comment that! 😂😂🙌
Edward peaked in this one
The Saab cup holder was designed and manufacturer in Scarborough Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 @ Manchester Plastics, thank you Chris Harris for recognition. It was an awesome cup holder, I kept some prototypes from the development days when I was a student, purely mechanical and well dampened.
The people that understand and care about these topics greatly appreciate these podcasts.
Neil Clifford is a national treasure, that 2 car garage inspiration is the work of genius! 🤣
1:09:57 Chris asking Edward again “Whose calling you?” was hilarious. It was the 4th or 5th time he said Mike Hunt at that point. 😂
And then he dropped Jimmy Saville’s Rolls on us.
I’m dead 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This podcast is pure gold.
I keep repeating myself best podcast on CZcams or any format life in general banter craic and oh cars 😂
Kenny I completely agree. Long live Collecting Addicts. Life without……..unimaginable.
Best 2 car garage brief yet😂
Excellent work Mr Clifford.
The idea for this weeks garage was only surpassed by the wonderful attention to shitty detail Neil delivered with his selection. In quite possibly the driest manner I have ever seen a fellow Englishman deliver.
Tears of laughter.
I do hope one of your family members aren't getting married shortly as the in-laws may be slightly paranoid at this moment. 😂
Gold, this week with a dark twist. Laughed so hard. Ed really is a second hand car dealer. Brilliant work chaps.
Best automotive podcast ever , thanks so much for your time to do these 👍
The best thing. I can’t explain how good it is to listen to this whilst opening up my pub each Friday
30:50 Neil is just allways right!
Brilliant podcast as always gentlemen.
Drinking game idea! Possible trigger events include:
1. Chris H says something harsh to Edward for no apparent reason.
2. Chris C mentions a conversation he has had with his sons.
3. A classic Manish NHS/F1 anecdote.
4. Edward casually glosses over an awesome experience from his younger days.
5. Neil sums up something in a curmudgeonly, but ultimately really relatable way.
Feel free to add your own...
Out-bloody-standing!
All your podcasts are awesome, this one went to a higher level!
Love all the personalities and the dynamic between you all. So funny and amazing to listen to whilst driving.
Thank you very much and look forward to the next one, would love to go to the pub with you lot!
I bloody love cars and I bloody love a giggle. These are always good but this one knocked it out of the park 😂😂 Flipping genius 😂😂
Absolutely brilliant. Was literally laughing out loud. Never stop making these gents. Such a highlight of every week.
Loving 'Collecting Addicts' podcasts... they're just getting better and better. Keep 'em going.
AMAZING episode! thank you very much!
The energy on this episode was top notch! Thanks Neil for the voice of reason, firm but fair!
Love Neil Clifford with the M3 remark ! 😂
So love this podcast what a great collection of people.
LOVED it! Thanks!!!
Neil Clifford you are hilarious! Edward Lovett you knocked it out the park hilarious!
Spat out a mouthful of sweet chilli sauce down a freshly ironed white work shirt when the Saville Corniche appeared🤣genius
this podcast is magic
Thanks for the chat guys. Good accompany as always🙂👍🚗🚗
The chat around 22:30 about Ferrari customers buying cars just to get allocation of the model they actually want - and I know this not unique to Ferrari - really is a 1:1 match for the way the elite Swiss watch companies operate at the dealer level. I am thinking of Rolex, Patek, AP, and others. It is a very well known phenomenon that if you’d like a Royal Oak Jumbo, you have to build not just rapport with the AD, but also a sales history that often includes watches you aren’t terribly interested in.
Like a fucking pyramid scheme.
Great show , one of the best!
Edward Lovett absolutely smashed the two car garage
Cheers for the heads-up on The Stone Roses. I've been listening to them all afternoon and both records are already a sure bet for my driving music mix on my iPod.
I'm with Cooper. A cup of tea next to you on a long day or night's drive is not only a welcome thing, but for me, essential.
Such a great staple of the automotive diet, please keep it up guys laughing all the way with you
Well said Chris Cooper on Nyck De Vries , spot on ,give him a good car he would be up there . Having said that the Red Bull junior program does give a lot of junior drivers a chance !
Neil, I’m with you. No cup holders. It’s an invitation to your passenger to bring a drink which endangers the valuable interior of the car. My 992 comes with a cup holder in the central gear selector area. I have removed it.
No one brings a open drink into the car. (The 991 and Boxster does have a clever system, I must admit) The world is obsessed with drinks on the go.
This was an excellent episode gentlemen.
Very much the highlight of my week...
Here in the states we travel long distances to get anywhere. we like using a cupholder to hold out WATER bottles. LOVE this blog. Cheers.
Cupholder talk is golden: team Clifford and Lovett here ✊
This podcast is going crescendo, who knows how we are going to survive the next ones… keep up the good work boys
The two car garage was bloody gold.
This podcast is rather good. Neil is brilliant. Chris C is bang on about Singer.
Amazing as always
Gutted. Missed that there was a live one! Hope there are more to come! X
I love your little weekly dialog here. You should create a CZcams playlist with all your lovely music ideas.
Att: Chris
That FF does look nice acctually
That was an awesome episode. You ARE hilarious Ed! 😂
Thankyou Thankyou fellas
I think the perfect example of car design has to be the previous and current generation Honda Civic Type R. I have owned 2 FK8’s in the past and apparently Honda couldn’t give them away , ( only to me it seems ). Fast forward 6 years to the new FL5, and there’s a bloody 2 year waiting list here in Australia ( to which I have an order) . Midlife crisis ? , I’m 52 short fat and bald so yeah probably. Do I care? Not in the slightest. Great podcast , look forward to every episode. Thanks guys , brilliant.
Never stop these brothers!!!
My VZ Commodore had that Saab cup holder. Brilliant engineering!
Best episode yet. Keep the sarcasm and mock hostility coming please.
The MZR Datsun 240Z resto for me 👌🏽Love the show fellas.
I agree with Chris. - Crushing someone’s spirit and confidence is never going to get the best out of someone.
Some of the answers in this podcast have been some of the best answers yet 😂
Could be my favorite 2 car garage yet. Listened to that bit at least 20 times at work and finally watching it on video makes it even more hilarious. I can't stop the image a Gulf Blue Porsche, with orange stitches.....matching shoes and glasses. ☠️☠️
Neils cup holder rant was glorious! Chris Cooper going off on a tangent :D And the two car garages were great!
Rover 75 cupholder action is a good sight to see
Great entertainment chaps. Bring on No 27
I like Neil Clifford’s tee shirt. I might have to have one exactly the same. The words would make me smile every time I wore it.
I'm an old git, but I think Manish's son was spot on with his Ferrari design feedback - totally agree
Honestly, Ed’s car choice had me actually crying with laughter! Such a brilliant 2 car garage this week! 😂😂
Just when I thought a 993 targa tiptronic and a Ghibelline diesel can’t be beat, Edward Lovett delivered. Holy hell. I laughed so hard my neighbour knocked on my door to check I’m ok 😂
Fantastic podcast as always but this weeks 2 car garage was hilarious 😂😂😂 #CambridgeUniversityNetballTeam
The Red Bull driver talk missed a huge part of the story. They have 3 F2 race winning drivers in their junior driver program - Lawson, Hauger and Iwasa. The F2 car is a spec car so beyond car setup it is all about driver ability so their performances can be compared with fewer variables.
In F1, they can evaluate Perez against Max, Nyck (28 and world champion in other series) clearly hadn't been performing in F1 compared to Tsunoda so they bring in a known quantity in Danny Ric to see just how good Yuki is. If Ricciardo outperforms him then Tsunoda is out at the end of the year.
Whether they promote Danny Ric up to the main team, give Sergio the boot and bring 2 rookies in to Alpha Tauri or have Ricciardo 'lead' AT, wave goodbye to Perez and bring in a rookie to each team to learn from their respective team leaders is the interesting twist we have yet to find out.
This was a great episode arguing about coffee and cup holders 😂😂 couldn't not stop laughing
that restomod topic is interesting with that valour being launched by aston this week!
I would love Neil Clifford as a boss. As a retail director myself, reporting in to him on a Monday morning would be something to look forward to!
Totally agree about the cupholders, always baffled me, useful for keeping stuff in. Hope we Lesser Mortals will get to see a recording of the Live Podcast from yesterday, or is that just for the select few at the secret location whose cars pass muster? Life eh
Epic!!
Wasn’t supposed to be live today?
Agree with Mr Cooper; 964s are the worst looking of all 911s, excepting for perhaps 996. However, that makes them a great donor vehicle for Singer et al.
And dearest Manish, 300Cs were absolutely made in RHD, with thousands sold in Australia.
Excellent chat as always gentlemen!
On the topic of car styling, and cars no longer being reserved, understated and stylish... I think a lot of it is due to the social media Instagram age. Most luxury and high fashion nowadays is very nouveau riche, with everything being designed to project, show, display, exhibit, go viral and generate clicks. I can't say I'm a fan.
I think the Bugatti Chiron is the most tasteful and refined piece of hypercar design in recent years (spec dependant of course), so you 'can' create beautiful, restrained design while also appealing to the nouveau riche crowd.
The Audi RS6 is the perfect case study. Comparing earlier generations to the last couple, it has gone from being an iconic Q-car, to being the total opposite. Quiet confidence to pure exhibitionism. Says everything about the direction of fashion.
I don't think the F1 influence has helped either, with the obsession for loads of stick-on aero carbon (a lot of it fake) which usually ruin the lines of a car. It all gets a bit Max Power.
Fashion does go around in cycles, so hopefully it will swing back in the other direction!
I have enjoyed all 26 episodes of Collecting Cars. Regarding cup holders, I am in total agreement with Neil in not ever using them or wanting them in a car. I also hate Costa coffee as it is so bitter. Funnily enough I own a 991 and I am just going to the garage to see what all the fuss is about the 991 cup holder.
Keep the great pod casts going!
Epic vicious two car garage!
Great job as always Pentagofs ( 5 x grumpy old farts😀) 2 x Aussie songs to listen to. Not for general road use but best for setting your PB track attack time. 2.19 by Lloyd Spiegel and You Get So by Matt Finish
Cupholder a must in western Canada, hundreds of km between cities, arrow straight roads.
JS's roller killed me, my sides are aching !!!!!
Best 2 car garage ever. Hands down
Half a year's worth of collecting addicts already!
That Japanese Senna poster Manish has 👌🏼
Been waiting to finish work to watch this. Shit hot.
The Roma reminds me of the gran tourismo at the front with the wing haunches. Put a round grill on the front and Maserati. Remember the California was stole by Ferrari? They had to wait a generation to do the full copy of Maserati original idea.
Loving Neils's Shipping Forecast T-shirt - where can I aquire please?
What's the opinion on the resto-modded pagode from Mechatronik with the M113 engine? I love it
That was simply hilarious.
Gyroscopic cup holders are a thing. Ram Mount UK, do them. No affiliation, just providing info 😊 2 car garage, fuggin' genius! I'm crying 😂
I think the SF90XX will be fixable with a decent spec, as the "track" model I think the stick on bits are appropriate and racy. Don't really see much different to the new GT3 RS (which looks amazing). Not a single ounce of love for the M2 or especially the 4 exhaust option however!
My girlfriend said "wow, she's a bit of a c**t eh!?" when Cara Delevingne snubbed Martin Brundle during last weekend's grid walk 😂
You guys need to do an annual Top Gear style road trip. It will fucking destroy the other car youtubers. Trust me on this chaps!!!
Best two car garage ever
Has to be the 70's 80's Aston X Pack Vantage with modern suspension, gearbox (manual) and brakes. All... day.... long. Dream car but you're right standard I would be disappointed.
Manish's two cars, says he wasn't being too brutal then goes on to absolutely slay, the driver is the bit. Had me howling.
The Savile Rolls is the winner in my book
Chris Cooper's bit on Cara...exactly what I've been saying all week. Just say something nice.
I was just thinking I loved the cup holder in my old Saab in the day as CH said SAAB.
Love this podcast - watched them all. Question, am I right in thinking Neil Clifford might have the best motorbike in the world in the back of his Mancave? It looks like a grey Rickman Triumph Metisse scramble bike. You all seem to have an interest in bikes, so why not a one off best bike bit.
