  • Tirthankar: Insights into Jainism | Devdutt Pattanaik introduced by Satyarth Nayak | Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series Jaipur Literature Festival 2024
Writer Devdutt Pattanaik's recent book, Bahubali: 63 Insights into Jainism, explores the stories, symbols, rituals and ideas associated with one of India's most ancient faiths. Steeped in philosophy and with accompanying illustrations, the book follows the journeys of the Tirthankars who were known to be the perfect beings, showing the path of truth and liberation to humanity while examining the lesser-known tenets of the faith. Introduced by Satyarth Nayak, author of the national bestseller, Mahagatha - 100 Tales from the Purana, the master storyteller weaves together knowledge, ritual, social imagery and reality.
Devdutt Pattanaik writes on mythology, which he defines as cultural truths revealed through stories, symbols and rituals. He lectures on the relevance of both Indian and Western myths in modern life. In the last twenty-five years, he has authored and illustrated over fifty books, including Book of Ram and Dharmic Leadership. Known for his TED talk and TV shows such as Devlok and Business Sutra, he is a regular columnist for reputed newspapers like The Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar.
Satyarth Nayak is an author and screenwriter based in Mumbai and a former SAARC Award-winning Correspondent with CNN-IBN. Satyarth best-selling biography, Sridevi - The Eternal Screen Goddess met with high acclaim. His debut novel, The Emperor’s Riddles, released in 2014, became a bestselling thriller, earning comparisons with Dan Brown for being a ‘history meets mystery.’ His new book, the magnum-opus Mahagatha, is an epic collection of 100 greatest mythological tales from the Puranas. Satyarth is currently scripting the next instalment of one of Bollywood’s biggest sci-fi film franchises and penning the biography of Shabana Azmi.

Not a coherent understanding of Jainism. Buts and pieces without a holistic framework. Disappointed.
