​@@azertyuiop5503 These Gas/Nitrox filled dampers are used to prevent foaming of the damping oil, so that the efficiency of the shock absorber remains constant throughout. The canister is used to be filled with pressurized Nitrogen gas, which further act as reservoir for both oil and Nitrogen gas.

idk if that spring is the right size, they are supossed to be longer so you can compress it to make it harder but this one is almost full compressed to fit properly

@@chory1827 the point of it being longer is so that doesnt happen because you can put preload on it

@@sapo229 The longer the spring the more linear damping becomes. You need stiffer coil then so you dont end up on 50% sag with 2 turns of maximum preload recommended for every coil shock. If he is more keen on jumps then this length is ok for more progressive work. Thats why you have much longer coils on downhill bikes. Less pop and more grip.

I personally prefer Hazet or Gedore, their torque wrenches still offer excellent quality but cost less than Wera. Wera is good but some stuff they sell is too expensive for what you get even compared with other German tool brands

I have a canyon spectral too, I thought I read somewhere that it’s bad for the bike somehow (the linkages maybe?) to change out the air shock for a coil. It seems like some bs to me, does anyone know about this? This is my dream upgrade pls help.

Air shock are thicker and this support the Frame better. Coil shocks only have that thin stanchion supporting the frame, while air shocks have a much thicker stanchion. I own a canyon spectral as well and immune came with a coil. However it was purchased this year so previous year frames may not work. The suspension manufacturers have what bikes to avoid coils on their websites.

It's not bad for the frame, but for the coil shock itself. Check out snapped coil shock stanchions on Google. Most of them happen on horizontally mounted shocks like the Canyon Spectral and Spez Stumpjumper.

It's not a matter of horizontal or vertical mounted. What you have to avoid is using a coil with an extender link like on the Stumpjumper. For that an air shock is needed.
You can now buy the 2023 Spectral Mullet which only comes with coil.

@@kinkaid25 Marzocchi is pretty much like fox and this one is definetly a milion times better than 100 euros rockshox deluxe select. Also there are just many benefits of switching out air for a coil if you for example jump a ton on your bike or do a lot of gnarly terrain.

I respect Marzocchi for there earlier attempts on DJ Suspension forks and still one of the best, I also like the big “Monster” downhill fork they did but Marzocchi’s fell off after that.
I have owned 100’s of sets of forks in my time and remember the days when Marzocchi once ruled but at the moment Ohlins, Fox and Rockshox has the market. I can’t see this changing anytime soon. I’m sure “Fox” own assets of Marzocchi..

@@maxmtb12 Probably yes, need a 2.8".coil. This is a 230mm eye to eye shock. The 2,45" stroke coil it's for 200mm eye to eye shock.. now you know.
