Ibrahim Traore Burkina Faso Launch Surprise Offensive - Volunteer Fighters Shine

- In Burkina Faso, Reports say Ibrahim Traore has Launched a surprise offensive against armed terrorist groups. This is coming after Ibrahim made repeated calls for repentant insurgents to lay down their arms. This particular operation has been prepared discreetly to take the armed terrorist groups unaware in their occupied region close to the border with Mali. The objective is to reclaim a major town and a number of villages in the region along the border with Mali. The mission comprised about 5 rapid intervention battalions, and a mixed battalion composed of soldiers and volunteers for the defense of the homeland. Together with the air force, in total more than 8000 fighters are mobilized with effective firepower. Ibrahim Traore also ensured some of the newly acquired heavy artillery was deployed for the operation. Multiple rocket launchers are fired at the terrorist bases 30 to 40 km as the troops begin their progression towards the town of Gassan where residents have fled their homes.
