Hey Bill, the Massey Ferguson's are awesome tractors, ran one on the farm I grew up on. Just wanted to let you know about the 2 levers for the 3 point hitch. The lever that has the round top is used for the draft control. You can leave it all the way up and the lever that is square shaped is your position control. That is used for the up and down control of the 3 point hitch. If you use the position control for the position of your implement, it shouldn't chatter as it goes up. I was in shock as this was the tractor that our family had bought new back I think in 1965 or 1966. I was the one that made the step on the left side of the tractor.
It probably is not your float level. It is most likely the needle seat. There is a video on CZcams that shows you how to fix this problem. Type in coining a carburetor seat and you should find the video. It was put on by David Sall.
