- Problems with binocular vision can cause balance and dizziness issues. Many seniors struggle with their balance and are increased risk of falling because of undiagnosed binocular vision dysfunction.
Wow I just was thinking about those glasses all day today and now this video. God bless whoever has created these
I have worked for an optometrist for 19 years and this is awesome
They make such a difference having those. My daughter has a complex head injury and she kept changing her glasses until I got her those and it helps so much
Great PARTIAL info. Would be amazing if he had included more info with names ...NAME of her diagnosis & NAME/TERMINOLOGY of the corrective lenses.
binocular vision dysfunction. micro-prism lenses. this guy has plenty of videos with the name of the condition mentioned and you most likely have free access to google/any other search engine.
Nope .. some people have a sadistic streak …
Yes, all you ever need to know should be spoon fed to you in a short clip.
Yes!! That's right! 😅@@ltrentiws1
Diagnosis: binocular vision dysfunction and visual-vestibular mismatch. There isn’t a specific name for the lenses. They are just prescribed using various tools (prism etc) to improve both the binocular function and visual-vestibular function.
I’m not trying to hold anything back. Just trying to balance depth of content without boring people.
Going to my optometrist soon. Been dizzy and had vertigo for two years. This may be what I need. Hope he knows about depth perception problems in the elderly.
I think I need this 😳
A lot of places do not know what they’re doing. I got new glasses and it feels like I’m swimming.
I agree with you. I think most places hire “ whoever” not people who are skilled! 😮
Thank you for sharing this information. 😊❤
WHERE are these available???
Again, sooooo awesome!!!
What to ask for, who to ask😢 HELP
This could me; I lose my balance turning and walking.
I'm supposed to have an mri on my vestibular nerve on my left side. I fell head first out of the driver's seat and landed on my head. I was reaching for the pen I dropped. Now my body is no longer mine. I'm dizzy, I've fainted, I can't walk well or far. It takes awhile to get anything done now. I would be on the floor if I had to do a supermodel twirl like this lovely lady. 😮😮😮😮
I hope you find relief!!! Good luck.
@@NCYogini thank you. 😊
About 20 years ago I suddenly developed those and similar type problems. While we’ve never reached an actual diagnosis, one thing I found that helped tremendously was switching to Birkenstock or similar orthopedic type footwear. I went from feeling like I was trying to stand or walk in wet, wobbly sand to feeling like I was anchored on firm ground. It didn’t “fix” anything but it made that symptom have much less impact. You may have to experiment with which brand works best for you.
Birkenstock has just always worked best for me.
I also did vestibular therapy 4-5 years ago through a physical therapy office. You need someone specialized in that though. Not just any PT. They first do movements to try and balance the crystals in your ears. I know,🙄 I thought someone was pulling my leg, but it’s a real thing. A friend of mine referred me to this specialist. For her, just doing the crystals thing fixed her vertigo. It helped me but didn’t resolve it. But after the initial 2 PT visits doing the ear thing, we then worked on specific exercises and movements which really did make a difference.
Good luck!
It's a prism in the glasses.
I have this problem!!
Me too
I do also. Where do I get this help, please? Help !!!!!!!!.
What are these glasses and what’s the solution?
I think I do too. How do I get more info
@@henriettadodds8330I have this too info please help me
So very good. How do we get to you or someone that can secure this new method for our loved ones please!???
The best thing to do is to find an optometrist who is experienced in Vision Therapy and treating binocular vision dysfunction. And who knows how to use prism to help integrate the visual vestibular systems. Unfortunately, these can be few and far between. But I would try a local Google search first.
@@opto-mization thank you, i did not know about this disorder ! I have astigmatism and if i don't have my glasses on, i get easily dizzy(my two eyes have different prescriptions) I thought this was "normal"
@@opto-mizationcan you please put this in the description and pin it at the top of the comments because this is unfamiliar to us and we all think we need checking for this.

gotta feelin’ this ain’t gonna happen
That's the way I felt when I first got my varifocal glasses at age 50. Luckily my brain adjusted to them
First time I ever heard that word. Now I can look it up. CZcams is not doing us any favors with these shorts. None at all.
I want those glasses
I want those glasses
Wow this is wild. Had no idea depth perception could do this to people. My mom has the same problem. I’m going with her to have this checked. Is there something else an opthomologist should be looking at?
Yes. Please find an optometrist who specializes in vision therapy and treating binocular vision dysfunction.
My daughter will be starting vision therapy next month for convergence insufficiency and vestibular dysfunction.

What is Vistubular Dysfunction?
My daughter is going to have her eyes tested with an Eye Specialist.
She has seen many Specialists over the years.
We know some of it may be Genetic. Both of our daughters have Special Needs. It's always been a
concern for me. When I
back out of my Driveway.
She will be anxious going
around a telephone pole.
She was treated for Vertigo and dizziness..
She even went to have her ears tested. And the
ENT felt the Chrystals. In
the Middle Ear weren't out
of place.
I just hope we can finally find peace of mind.. With
the Eye Examination.
Thanks 🙏
I think my dad is experiencing this but his dementia makes it difficult for him to explain.
How do my husband and I get these?
Amazing
Thank you for this information. A piece of the puzzle but there's many more. I didn't think of that part. Every day is a school day.
Great. Did she feel light headed whole walking? I am so happy for her.😊. I wonder if I am experiencing this.
Who do I need to see to get evaluated? My regular doctor treats the dizziness, my optometrist just changed my prescription every 6 months. I need help! Any advice?
What's the difference in the prescription her optometrist prescribed? My sister has difficulty with depth perception too
I do too , but mine is cataract progression.I will still have balance & depth perception until I get my cataracts done in a year.
Have you ever connected vestibular neuritis to this condition? 12 months in and hoping for a miracle...
I have balance ever since my cataracts progressed. My dr never tested me for my balance.I wish I could go to this dr.
That’s amazing, but surely the actual glasses aren’t like what she’s wearing in the video, correct?
Interesting! My mom does this without glasses.
I’m 43 and just got prism glasses. I didn’t get to test with glasses in the office like this. Dr just did regular machine tests and said we will try .50 horizontal prism for each eye. I wear my glasses non stop with good vision. It did help my vestibular issues calm down a lot over a year. Is it possible for BVD to self correct to where I don’t need prisms anymore? I have convergence insufficiency and she said I need vision therapy. My Dr. didn’t give a lot of info, just sent a script for my glasses and that’s it.
Reverse the application of the eyeglasses.
Your body is remembered the previous experience and will have an easier time doing that same movement.
Put the corrective specs on first. 😮
This. .. These.....? What are the glasses called?
Amazing!
AND they look great
I Neeeed Those glasses! Except my own prescription!!
What is the proper title for a doctor dealing with this problem. I have had a problem since 2022. It’s been a long time and affects my quality of life. Every doctor refers me to an ENT. I think I have brain damage. Please answer me back. Please.
Hi, you want to see an optometrist, but you have to make sure that they have a lot of experience and vision therapy and treating binocular vision dysfunction. And hopefully you can get the help that you need.
@@opto-mization Can a neuro optomologist diagnose and treat this? Feeling extremely desperate In Atlanta. Edit: Was just referred to a neuro optomologist today by the doc who prescribed my 800$ glasses that she now says can’t be fixed to help me since my vision is fine. Except it feels all the time that I’m looking through coke bottles and I can’t walk wearing them at all.
Would this work with my son who is blind in one eye and has depth perception issues?
Hi. My son has been suffering from this (part 1 and 2). He has been through numerous types of vestibular therapies, seen several specialist, CT and MRI scans, lab work and balance tests. He was told that it was 3PD (I think that’s the name), possible subluxation in the neck (negative per diagnostic tests), inner ear infection (ruled out by 2 ENTs) and the like. One vestibular therapist told him that it may actually be his depth perception which could be the cause of his balance issue. He went to an ophthalmologist and was told that he had a small vision change (reading) and it appeared that he did have depth perception issues. He recommended glasses for reading but couldn’t give us any information about seeking help for the depth perception issue. He has been suffering with balance issues for almost two years now and no one can help him. Can you please tell us where he can go to see if these type of glasses could, maybe, help him? We live in Burlington County NJ.
I had a cryptogenic stroke nearly 2 years ago at 39 and resulted in lots of vision deficits. The lack of testing and rehabilitation for eye related stroke issues is beyond frustrating. They literately do nothing, and there are zero recommendations. You leave the hospital not knowing if you'll ever see the world again. Thankfully I have healed and recovered well. One of my recovered deficits was the loss of depth perception, and also had lots of dizziness which no eye Dr did anything to test or offer correction for at all. I'm in the states but I'd love to hear more about what else I can do to recover.
Is remote consultation possible?
My biggest issue now is my visual snow (self diagnosed, everything is staticy) and my colors are imperfect. I can't express to you the pain not seeing my beautiful childrens faces the way I used to. Any options you can recommend? Thank you for your time.
Take your glasses off, turn around in a circle
I need more information 😮
What are "these" that she's put on and where can I get one?? I have POTS and I get dizzy all the time
I’m not sure but I would google, “motion sickness glasses.”
My guess is since she already has glasses, that the other ones she put on had different prescribtion in them that fit her better. Btw the pair she Had on when she turned around the second time are so called measuring glasses. Im an optician trainee and i use those on costumers on a regular Basis
Im from Germany btw so sorry for any grammar mistakes
They are a prescription that specially designed to help her eyes and inner ear work better together. It improves her depth perception, so her brain can use her spatial information to help her balance. Whereas her normal glasses prescription was not helping with this.
@@opto-mizationwhere do I get these and are all eye Drs familiar with this.?am tired of being dizzy .

Ok so how does an eye dr test for depth perception? Please inform
Can you please help me get my mom help for her eyes?…she has Ménière’s, vertigo, eye detachment disease, and hearing loss. Her eye prescription changes a lot. Do you know anyone in Michigan that can help with her eye prescription?🤷🏻♀️

I told my husband abt 3 months ago that I think my glasses has something to do with my unbalance issue.
How many times do ee have to see the same thing when we got the point the first time?
Is there any locations in Oklahoma
Try searching Google for an optometrist who does vision therapy there.
What are those glasses? Why do they look so strange? Is that what she's going to have to wear going forward so she's not off balance?
@@JudyTolen wouldn’t it be awful if she had to wear those moving forward. They just look strange because they are frames that I can put a bunch of lenses into to make different prescriptions and adjust them on the spot.
Just say please after telling the to do something!!!
do you need a opthamologist or optometrist?
It depends, you’re more likely to find an optometrist who is trained in treating binocular vision dysfunction, and visual vestibular mismatch. So search for those things in your area.
Will this happen if you're not wearing glasses at all? It seems like my mom's dizziness coincides with the last decent pair of glasses she had. She only wears glasses to read occasionally but doesn't wear them walking around the house
Yes, it totally depends on the person and their case. I have many patients where they’re super dizzy without their glasses and only balanced when they are wearing them. And then other times like you said where their glasses are actually the source of their dizziness and they do fine without them.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Would that work for autism.
Never be another one....
Does she have to wear that contraption all the time?

And who are you?
Can we have nicer looking glasses
