I could honestly watch 100 episodes of nothing but John teaching Tate how to be a cowboy. The simple stuff between a grandfather and grandson is so awesome. I felt like a kid again when he let him pick out cookies and donuts.
Grandpa and Tate's relationship shows the true love John has for those he cares about. John's interaction with Tate show's the inner heart of John's love fo

"Is this a better camp?"
"Lemme see"
*Checks, see no service*
"Yep, this camp is much better"
Priceless
Been there done that
Getting back to nature means just that!! Montana Rick
Wish I could do that some days…..go somewhere with no cell service and everyone leaves me the hell alone!
That kid is such an awesome actor and the chemistry between him and Kevin is just perfect.
Tate is absolutely adorable. Half Dutton Half Native. I have a feeling he will grow up and be the bridge between the two worlds and not the wall
The only real division is in Hollywood and urban America's imagination. I grew up in a White and Native American mixed rural ranching and timber area, we were one family and one community and all the problems we had were caused from the regions urban area and the Feds telling us what rights we were allowed to have.
@@deanfirnatine7814 exactly! It isn't about race but more about urban cities ruining a way of life for these people. Everyone wants to experience this life and their way to do it is to destroy the actual people living the life and build fake resorts offering this life for people to escape to when they get time from their city corporate life not realizing how much damage they're doing to these communities.
. . Tate Is All Dutton . .
Walls are good things and your a fool if you don't thinks so. It's protects you against predators and thieves.
@@deanfirnatine7814 all my homies hate the feds
Seeing John and Tate together is one of my favorite parts of the show. John is such a hard ass then Tate says " hey grandpa" and John's whole demeanor changes in a second.
He’s the only one he’s able to let his guard down with
"Cuz it's one hell of a life Tate" Words of a legend right there.
That's line is the best
The man who had the heart and soul to write this dialogue, who didn't let the world crush his hope and spirit, has already succeeded beyond his wildest dreams.
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
5:29 "That's the thing about being a grandfather. I get to all the things I wished I'd done with my children, and the things I regret, I get to do different."
As much as a hard-ass John Dutton is, he fits the description of many grandparents. Particularly the fact that grandparents tend to spoil their grandchildren.
John Dutton the grandpa everybody wishes they had.
Minus the money and the criminal activity im glad to say i have one.
@@DylanPowell1125 in this world it's hard to get by without either of those .
My grandpa never got close to me so when i saw this clip I feel so envious.

I was just gonna say that. I love that kid! What a great actor! & I wasn't sure about Kevin Costner at first but he fits his role exactly like my favorite broke in riding boots!😁😜 we have every episode taped& COULDN'T BELIEVE the music. The bands they have songs on there are the bands my husband& I have loved FOREVER. We started with BLACKBERRY SMOKE, saw(12xs) WHISKEY MYERS(2xs) then Uncle Lucius, Tyler Childers& Puscifer. Beth&Rip were dancing& in that bar and I heard STONE & husband was talking on the phone. I was like a little kid tugging on his sleeve! Lookit! Lookit! It's WHISKEY MYERS!😂🤠❤😜😁
The way Kevin acts and talks with TATE gives us a window of how he talks with his own children...
Kevin Costner is such an excellent actor in whatever genre he acts ...every actor in Yellowstone is superb . Taylor Sheridan hired a perfect crew for Yellowstone.
It is absolutely incredible that he has hired such great actors for 1883 and 6666 while creating such incredible scenes in Yellowstone.
Yes he really is....
Love KC ❤️❤️❤️💪💯🙏
Yea.. he's a good ACTOR. That's why we don't know WHAT he's really like...
SEEMS LIKE THE TOUGHEST MEN HAVE THE SOFTEST HEART ❤❤❤❤
Hello ma’am thanks so much and i really appreciate your love and support for my dad’s acting career... Ryland Cole Hauser...God bless..
No matter how much Monica dislikes John there is no denying he will do anything for those he loves. He will always love and defend everyone in his family even if it kills him.
I was blessed to have 2 wonderful grandfathers.
Hello ma’am thanks so much and i really appreciate your love and support for my dad’s acting career... Ryland Cole Hauser...God bless...
Same
John Dutton & Dan Scott might not have been great dads, but they were the best grandpas.
I had ONE grandmother and no grandfathers. I missed it.
John's failures as a father are likely the reason he's so good with Tate. He feels he's too far down the wrong road to make up for them, and he's too stubborn to admit them. But with Tate, he has a chance to do things differently
Lol love the one tree hill reference
With each experience they share, the bond between John and Tate grows and that is very therapeutic for BOTH of them.
I think we could all learn a lesson from John and Tate 👨🌾
He's so kind and good to the little dude....🤠
Tate’s mom is beautiful
True! Theres often a special relationship between Grands & grandchilds ....and even when Gran is having a Ranch like this...🤗🤭🤭
This almost had me ball my eye's out the entire time, I never knew or met my Grandfather but this was pretty close to how I grew up with my Dad. Out on the ranch, I've always been big time into reptiles and everything nature. And my dad would always encourage it, he was always the same but with livestock and especially dogs. We would go out on our father son nature trips all the time and he would exude so much wisdom the same as John Dutton, which coincidentally my father's name is John as well. Such a fantastic show, I'll always appreciate just for the feels.
Me too only its because I wasn't blessed with children so no grandchildren either. Its a void in my life, but a consequence of my life choices. I married the wrong woman
Tate: “I think you should carry the bigger ones.”
John: I’m supervising!”
Classic grandparent move! LOL
"Classic grandparent move! LOL" Indeed😊
They have a relationship like my youngest son and my father. I work crazy hours and my dad is the smartest man I have ever met. Self taught cause he worked in a college and did the work without grades. He treats that boy like gold.
This reminds me so much of how I can be with my grandkids......seems like it is so much more relaxed than when Mother and I were raising our own 4 kids. Seems like grandkids are the most unexpected reward. It almost makes up for being old and beat up.
@ Tom Nekuda. Very well said my friend!! Montana Rick.
Ligit my gandpa sun up sun down. Workin on something around the ranch and his horse at 83 he cant see or hardly hear but im blessed to live here as well on the same ranch with all my family. Watching him is a true blessing.
Mr. Costner is very cool in real life, too!
Hello ma’am thanks so much and i really appreciate your love and support for my dad’s acting career... Ryland Cole Hauser...God bless
I'm almost 40 and my grandpa passed away at 88 last year... I miss the stories he told me and the things he still was teaching me even when I grew up... It's rare that people these days cherish the older people in their lives because of generational differences or differing option what's "right and wrong".
Just lost my Great Grandma this month. I miss her so much.
Love when John calls him Grandson and not Tate
My absolute favorite show on TV.
That little guy reminds me of my own grandsons so much......they live a long distance away and traveling is hard for me. Makes me even more lonely for them. We have in our hands the responsibility of shaping a generation of people better than ourselves. Let us not drop the ball.
Move closer! 😄
Zestooo.....not that easy.
Like my folks used to say...it's all in ya raisin'
Coolest grandpa ever dude!
“Do you know how to ride a horse?”
“OF COURSE I DO IM INDIAN”

Takes a lot to make me cry but this reminds me of my granpa an me when I was a kid 😢
hope I can get the chance to be a grandpa one day an teach him or her all the things mine he taught me
With an attitude like that you'll be a good one. I had a wonderful Grandpa, too, and we really got along. He taught me so much stuff.
Tate is so adorable, and John is such a loving besotted grandfather! I wish I had a grandfather just like him 💛

I really felt bad for John when Tate was kidnapped just so helpless.................
I had one Grandpa that I never knew because he passed away when I was 2. The other Grandpa I wish I had never known because he was a mean man. I'd like to think that the one I lost would have been like John Dutton
I got 2 grandpas , both alive , both never paid me no attention, one bc his new wife hated us , and the other I never knew bc my mom kept my real father from me and said my step dad was my real dad , never had a real father son relationship with either of my dads or grandpas , as a father of 2 boys im gonna break the cycle and be there for my boys and hopefully one days boys of their own, thought I'd share that, love Yellowstone
The actor playing Tate is a great little actor and has grown up so much by season 4.
The best parts of the show are John & Tate !!
Hello ma’am thanks so much and i really appreciate your love and support for my dad’s acting career... Ryland Cole Hauser...God bless❤️💙..
I love this. As someone with a granchild, it is true. The love you have dor them xould make your heart burst
John does a great job at showing the real thing of a the fact that if you’re lucky you can have a second chance with your grandchildren
There is a genuine sweetness in that relationship that shines through.
One word for this story line BEAUTIFUL.
At one point I want to see a time skip to when Tate’s all grown up has kids and is running the ranch
That certainly should be how it ends
Yeah. I think that like a bad guy will kill Kayce or John and he gets revenge in the end.
Is that so we can see how John Brand Tate when he does not obey him ?
The ranch isn’t profitable
@@mustang_7616 currently it is still profitable but it is in danger of becoming not profitable. However there is a simple solution that was subtly nodded at in the last episode of season 3 Rainwater and his team decided to invoke danger to wildlife and they said it was gonna be easy also rainwater told John that he could join him on that standpoint.
my grandad was like mr dutton. miss him more than the desert, rain. he was the meanest looking man you ever met, show him respect & hed move mountains for you. saved my life a few times
great show...great writers...great characters...great acting...great cast....great location thank you paramount. thank you everyone from the show Yellowstone. please stay away from the train station.
This reminds me of me grandad. Im 41 now I lost him to cancer when I was 16. I never seen a man work so hard in me life. He worked 6 days a week 12 hrs a day. Then he would come home and go cut timber until dark. Then hed spend a couple hrs in the garage tinkering around fixing things. Id spend sundays with him then alot in the summer and winter breaks. Me da was never around after me parents divorce. Me grandad taught me more than he ever could or would. Lord I miss him everyday of me life. Hes got me through good times and bad. He will always be with me.
Crying watching this how I miss my grandpa
Kevin Costner made me a fan with this role!! I love him as a grandfather!! 💯
Hell I wanted to be taught responsibilities like that by a true master.
Tate has grown so fast in five years.
The contrast with being older and wiser with young and learning new experiences!! The basic fundamentals of co-existing with life...... of all types.......all around us.....and learning and sharing our experiences!! PRICELESS and WONDERFUL!! Montana Rick.
John is such an awesome grandpa!
i enjoy the jon and tate scenes the most just cause its more simple no drama or underlying message its just grandpa and grandson in the moment. the cookie scene reminds me of my grandpa he'd say there muffins in the house so id scurry inside grab a muffin then he would say thanks and take it then tell me to grab for myself lol it was exactly like that scene but muffins instead of cookies
Being with grandpa is sometimes dangerous, he's been kidnaped , fell and almost drowned in the river and who knows whats next. Growing up in Dutton Ranch is tough.
bisayagid4 "Growing up in Dutton Ranch is tough." Isn't that life in general? Maybe that is The Lesson for all of us. Growing up is tough, but along with surviving, the child, and this can apply to any age individual, learns the bigger lesson, to paraphrase from the Marine Corps to "overcome and adapt".
One of the best shows I've ever seen!!
I don't have kids...but I want to end up being a grand dad like this
Love this tv show and I can't wait for next year to see season 4 is going to be great
The summer camp episode was my favourite.the calm in the all the chaos.
Grandpa is the name for hero in the eyes of little boys. Least it was for me how I saw my grandpa too! Miss you, Grandpa Arnold!

It surprised me that Season 4 never had a scene between John and Tate after the attack at the end of the 3rd season.
John Dutton. Hard businessman, gentle grandpa.
I effing cried. All the things I miss about my grandfather.
My God, this reminded me of my childhood in Central Montana. Searching out ancient buffalo skulls, digging fossils and sapphires, spotting tepee rings, catching trout with my grandpa, fixin fence and moving cows. I learned a lot. There is so much of this that rings true.
Are fossils common in Montana?

more of this from yellowstone please. loved it♥
Thank you.
I needed this
I just turnt 40. I was a dad at 19. I will be a granddad very soon. The words he said about the difference between a dad and a granddad is that you get to do the things you regret with your grandchildren hit pretty hard. Thanks for the wisdom! I needed that.
Grandson, you can do whatever you want. Ain't that the truth?
A tale old as time “don’t bother me I’m supervising”
Love this scene, the relationship, all of it!!!!
Just discovered this show watching the new season now it's really good
Love this grandpa and his grandson
This is my favorite parts of this show. When my father wasn’t in the picture my grandpa from my mom side pretty much became my father figure and I love him so much and he’ll forever be my grandpa my father. Tate and John’s relationship is something incredible and yea John for everyone is a tough cowboy but at the end of the day he’s a big soft teddy bear
That's so beautiful❤️😌
What a great grandpa! Tates a good boy
I love the waterworld reference
Enjoyed every moment of this drama... Always a Kevin Costner fan... 🥰
How does Kevin Costner keep getting away with creating some of the greatest film/tv mankind's ever produced? Love Yellowstone and John Dutton bears a few similarities to Kevin's character Charlie Waite in Open Range. Heart of gold but capable of killing you if you cross him or his family.
My grandfather died over 40 years ago, and this just made me miss him so much.
Now this is a fine cut...
Simply great
My grandpa was like him and I would spend every weekend with him and in the summer we would go up to the mountains to his log cabin that’s kinda like the big house and fish and hunt for weeks he died a couple years ago and I don’t go a day without thinking about him.
My grandad was very much like this. Not in the wilds like the show but he taught me how to be. Having no father that didn't beat me he took me in. Recently lost him to cancer and heart failure.
My sincere condolences for your loss. I believe that he is still watching over you, and that you will see him again.
He reminds me of my grandfather god rest his soul
Best show EVER on TV!!! 💖

I LOVE YOU YELLOWSTONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can already tell that when I have kids, my dad is going to be exactly like this.
Beautiful.
Having a man like John can prepare you for the life ahead.
I met a very wise old man once, he was really rich and I was around 12-13 years old, I asked him why he was so rich and he asked me "why I think he is rich?" I said because "you've never made a wrong decision in your life", he laughed and said " I've made more wrong decisions than anyone in life, its just I never let those wrong decisions scare me into not making decisions at all". We all get into tough spots in life, when you feel like there is no hope, there is nothing good that can happen and you start to think about the future based on the way things are at the moment and all you see is dark, sad road ahead but it's not like that every day we make decisions, you don't have to make the right decision everytime and when you make enough wrong decisions, you learn from it and your rate of success increases exponentially. Being a man and acting like one are two different things, don't let tough times scare you into not making a decision at all.
the scene where he saves tate has to be the best scene kevin costner has ever done
John Dutton best grandpa
Man i miss yellowstone , Can’t wait for the new season
Tate and his PTSD just broke me 😞 so much trauma for such a lil boy
What happened to him with those people? I don't wanna watch if he gets assaulted.
@@tsilva2183 I don't think they show anything violent with respect to Tate. He was kidnapped by a militia of skinheads and was traumatized. The aftermath is hard to watch just because he's so young.
If you've never seen the show, just know it has a lot of grit. The ones they show now on CBS or fox or whatever channel it is are edited.
