      The V8's nice lot of power is just there's a lot of things that you want to keep in mind like the year of that v of that Cadillac you have depends on the year.There's a lot of issues and I could explain to you if you want to know what they are

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 2 měsíci

      They're not all bad issues.It's just some stuff to look out for when you got the V8.To preventative maintenance is what I would call it just to make sure that your car is running tip top and you get it in check before it gives you more problems down the road.But if you want to know, let me know I can either explain to you.Just tell me what year of the V8 you got

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes I would say so, my sts was two owner with 96,000 second owner was my dad before it was mine. If you don't know the person your buying it from do your home work, what I mean is do a car faxs report look the all over check the fluids look for any that the my not be sound. Like rust spots has it been in a accident of flood and if you have good mechanic friend bring him and ask him to look it over to make sure everything looks good if you know some one.

      I say no, I've owned 3 Northstar equipped caddies and there's reasons why you can buy any Cadillac with this drivetrain for dirt cheap.
      1. Head Gaskets: Northstars have a horrible reputation for blowing head gaskets in their earlier models, thankfully I never blew mine but it is a very common problem because of the fine threading on the head gasket bolts which strip the aluminum block and loosen.
      2. Oil Leaks: This I can vouch for with every Caddy I've owned. You will leave oil spills no matter what this is unavoidable, most often its the crankcase of crankshaft seals, and it will burn on your block and reek.
      3. Climate Control: AC will eventually go out, all 4 did on mine.
      4. Radiator Tanks: The radiator has 2 PLASTIC tanks on either side of the radiator and they retract and expand as your radiator is pumping coolant, this leads to friction, and eventually a crack like with all plastics you bend, then a coolant leak.
      To each his own, but buyer BEWARE if you buy one. They're beautiful cheap stylish cars, plenty of horsepower, and it took me 3 tries to eventually walk away but I'm glad I did. I have an ATS 2.0 coupe now.

      @jackcrisci2957 Před 2 lety

      @@pumpkinface8151 The one caveat I'd give you is the LH2 Northstar on '05 models and later fixed the head gasket issue with thicker bolts and coarser threads. Otherwise can confirm the oil leaks on mine, though so far it looks like valve covers and oil pan/transmission pan. Really hoping the crank case and crank shaft aren't leaking. The radiator is really worth replacing if original, as the plastic does get VERY brittle after 17 years.

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 2 lety +1

      It is time to change your differential bushing us with a clunking noise coming from when you keep moving accelerating it's going to clunk so that's the sign that it's your rear differential bushing just like I did in my video

    do u know how to fix " Catalyst System Low Efficiency Baank 2 "p0430-00" i have changed all 4 sensor on it still have the light on n this code! what could it be?

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 2 lety +1

      If you changed all four sensors and you still have the light and it's saying the Catalyst then the only thing left is the Cadillac converters you have to replace them that means that they're bad

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 2 lety +1

      One other thing you can do before you purchase new Cadillac converters is go by a catalyst cleaner what it does the cleans out your Cadillac converter to get all the the whatever is causing it to fail out now could be the last resort before you go and purchase two new cats so I would try that

      @fixitdaniel  Před rokem

      First I'd go online and try to Google search a remote start module for your car to find out why is it not why is it not working or you could always take it into the dealership have them diagnosis for you but not fix the issue that way if you want to fix it yourself you can or find out how much it cost

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před rokem

      But me personally I would go on CZcams or a Google search it and find out what kind of part you need to replace it I believe it's just a a remote start module that you have to replace not quite sure where it's located probably under your dash somewhere

    How does the roar pedal effect the car with traction and stability control off ?

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 3 lety

      Nothing the Roar pedal only enhanced the throttle and nothing else. The difference with traction and stability off is that if you starting lose it will not stop you thats all.

  • @stellawilliams542
    @stellawilliams542 Před 2 lety

    I got a 2010 Cadillac STS when I start it it runs about 10 seconds and then dies and the dash says throttle problem .could it be a wire chewed into by a rat . When it was parked it was running

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 2 lety +1

      If it was sitting that long and it may be by a rat but you'd physically would see that the wires were chewed that could be a possibility or could be a bad throttle body or your throttle position sensor is bad or it's all bad and that's why it's not working.

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 2 lety +1

      Along with the throttle body not working do you have any check engine lights.

    • @fixitdaniel
      @fixitdaniel  Před 2 lety +1

      If you can find out if there's any check engine codes it might also be a blown throttle sensor of fuse too so you My have checked it and get diagnosed

      several parts could be the guilty party. It could be a blown head gasket, a fractured cylinder head, Damaged cylinder bores, or a manifold leak.

      My channel was about showing people how to work on their cars that may not know how or may not know how to replace a part my show is never about horsepower and superchargers and stuff like that which are cool and yes a V8 is better than the V6 but I'm thankful that I was able to show people and help them out throughout my channel that's what it's all about is helping people out. Plus this is my personal car maybe one day I could get some thing cool who knows. But thanks for the comments.
