There was a "new" deck like that. Is no one here who remembers graydle-kaiju? The graydles are walking "owners seals"
You could just crash them into your opponent and steal their monster. You played a kaiju package with slumber and the field spell and the graydles

Graydle Kaiju is about 7-8 years old at this point. Pendulums were just a year or two old and not even the OCG knew about Links. Kozmo and Majespecter were brand new at the time lol- that’s old.

I wonder if it could be revisited; kyoutou waterfront and gamecial are tuff together, and aren't the graydles water as well? There's been, and will be, some strong water support since those days...

I remember side decking removed brainwashing back when Mystic Mine first came out. For one, I just got really tired of my boss monsters getting stolen and used against me/as tribute fodder. But since Mine decs would also put monsters on the opponents field to keep their field full, I'd flip this and turn their own field spell against them. It was great, no one ever saw it coming.

Yugioh decks used to have a decently diverse meta with rogue decks seeing viability. Now the meta is whatever new archetype makes Konami money.
No they didn't. You do realise when ygo 1st came out there was only 2 meta decks right? And then after that format there was also only 2. During goat format. Then there was only 1 during DAD format. The 1st tier zero format. You need to brush up on competitive ygo history my friend.
@@thebelmont1995I just wish that it was still viable to just crack open a bunch of packs, and that was your deck, just to play for fun with a friend, back when we were all still kids, and the game first came out in the U.S. OP makes a good about the Archetypes if you approach it with that mentality, it's simply no longer viable because most of the cards will only be barely compatible with eachother, and really only if you pulled all of those cards from the same booster.
Though the Archetypes do make the game more "comprehensive" I guess than those days, that if you build a deck of only those related cards, it has an actual defined structure to it, and a clear method of play. It makes it easier to get started, though only IF you have the money to build that complete archetype from the get go.
@@thebelmont1995 well yea of course there were always 2 decks that defined the meta but now I feel like every season has a tier 0 deck. It’s not a 2 deck meta it’s a 1 deck meta with literally no room for interesting rogue decks. I guess I’d say everything before nekroz was an ok meta? Idk I was pretty into yugioh around burning abyss and I’ve played since the beginning of synchros. Once links came out the meta started to go down hill imo.

Watched Farfa get stomped by a deck like this, he built a multi-negate feild, like 7+ negates and says "ok, out my board, good luck."
His opponent played a spell that nukes his backrow, double golem'ed and then kiaju'ed him, then played owner's seal.
Farfa had burned his entire hand setting up his board, owner seal basically mean he now had no hand, no backrow, and a single token, he lost in two turns.
When did this happen? I must know for research

Almost as good as when he lost 3 of 4 matches against numeron players because they drew limiter removal and he didn't play anything on his turn.

@@asimhussain8716 Only combo decks spend all of their resources. Many decks, for instance branded, have followup to deal with their opponent's cards turn 3.
Anyone else Remember The Lava Golem CPU in Yugioh WC 2010 Video Game? It was so mad annoying having to play around his lava golems and stall cards that I Vividly remember him a decade later and his deck “Return to Me”
And I thought I was creative for using Neo spacian grand mole in Kaiju decks
That was the classic play, but grandmole was at 1 so not super consistent
Similarly, I use lava golem in my Blue-eyes deck. Pop 2 for lava, use BE Jet to bounce it back to my hand. Or could Trade in It if needed

I actually built this deck back in 2010 and still have it today. My build was bricky though since i tried to use tri-blaze accelerator to disrupt the opponent while waiting for queen. Then i though royal firestorm guards would help with draw power......it did not lol. I even tried to use cards like Nightmare archfiends for more pressure. Sadly grinder golem got banned. R.I.P.
I use remove brainwashing in my Kaiju deck. It's really nice and if you have a hand full of Kaiju you can clear your opponent's field without targeting or destroying

I have a deck based around Kaiju and fairy tails - Luna aaand destiny board but let's talk about the Luna/kaiju.
Its effect allows to draw another Luna from the deck and it also returns both Luna and an opponent's Monster on the field to their owner's hand. Its effects are negated if they are able to throw another copy of the monster from their hand or deck to the graveyard. But most people don't own any kaiju anyway except maybe gameciel.
So the combo is: you special summon a kaiju on both fields and then use Luna to return the kaiju on the opponent's field into your hand. You can then re summon the kaiju in case you need to get rid of a second boss monster. Leaving you with a slight advantage.
This combo is quite fun just to mess up the board but it's kind of inconsistent 😅
A long time ago, I played a kaiju deck that used skill drain and remove brainwashing. The limit of 1 kaiju was the monster's effect, so I was tributing every opponent's monster and just building a fleet of kaijus. Obviously, this was back when the game was slow enough for more than 2 turns.
Ah yes skill drain kaiju. What brain power. Let's flip a trap and sit on it then just spam monster eaters for 12 turns. How exiting. How skillful. Sounds fun.

I remember coming across a Christmas Theme deck by Tombox on Reddit. I built that deck during MR3 era to mess around, tinkering with things and removing and adding things here and there. One strategy I had was through the use of Remove Brainwashing and to reacquire Volcanic Queen and Lava Golem while I had Prime Material Dragon to build up Life Points. Volcanic Queen's burn effect is optional requiring you tribute another monster on the field to not burn but if you have a way to avoid its burn then you don't need to pay the tribute fee.
I had blended the deck with Aroma Jar and Spirit Reaper to avoid getting thrashed until I got my set up pieces.
Owner's Seal was, at one point, a must have in my Warrior/Equip deck because one of my friends would go out of his way to take control of my Divine Knight Ishzark at every opportunity simply so that I wouldn't have it.
Ah yes. I remember when Lava Golemn first came out. These are trips down memory lane

fun fact, cause i use that deck irl still. Tokens you give your opponent would also be brought to your field, yes, Nibiru's token. Back when Grinder golem was allowed, it would be in deck from more cards you didnt talked about, like nightmare archfiends, to tribute 1 monster and give opponent 3 2k beaters, now are yours. and santa claws for funny draw 1. You get the point. There are still ways to use it nowdays

Fun fact. If both players control a Kaiju and you activate owner’s seal, the control of the Kaijus won’t switch.

False. If you give your opponent a Kaiju and then special summon a kaiju to your field and then use owner's seal, you will steal your opponents Kaiju. However, after you steal the kaiju, the kaiju you just stole will self-destruct as you can only control 1 kaiju and you already had one legally on your side of the field.

Isn't the Kaiju thing a condition, not an effect? So you can only ever have one Kaiju, skill drain be damned?
@@Durkoola it is the monster effect, I used to play a Kaiju deck with skill drain on Master Duel and people would scoop as soon as I had two Kaijus on my field
A fun deck is Kathy graydle lava, with kuriboh , multiply, and the spell that adds kuriboh to hand and IP + Dharc into Avramax with the tokens

Flute of Summoning Kuriboh? Iirc takes a Kuriboh or Winged Kuriboh from deck and lets you choose to add to hand or summon it
I always loved my Lava Golem burn combo. Sacrifice 2 monsters (clear 2 monsters opponent controls) summon Lava Golem. Use Nightmare Wheel on Lava Golem (preventing it from attacking). Activate Mask of Restrict (monsters can no longer be tribuited for a summon) and boom. Opponent is stuck taking 1k damage every turn. Throw in Ultimate Offering to allow myself to summon 2 Solar Flare dragons to my field (adding another 500 LP burn per dragon) (making him/her take 1k on my turn), then use emergency provisions to destroy it before the opponent can use it while simultaneously gaining 1k LP. Lay a couple of Just Deserts to bash him when his field begins to fill up. Throw out a Bad Reaction to Simoochi (LP gains become Burn instead, only effects opponent).
It's less that people aren't as creative as much as the power creep stiffled any creativity

Created this deck in master duel. Basically kaiju deck with owner seal... If u also want to invest a bit more, u can also add "tuning" spell and rocket synchron. Since rocket synchron is level 1, u can give them kaiju in a "specific" zone, normal rocket, make relinquished anima, and equip the kaiju u just gave them.
Did u know that kaijuu has level 7, 9, 10 monsters? Add that with lv.1 tuner that u can use twice, u can synchro it to powerful synchro like baronne, borrelload, and PEP.
I mean, its not a great deck, but its fun to play

I used to play a deck like this back in the day - affectionately called it Golem Control. Ran Lava Golem, Grinder Golem, and Volcanic Queen with these cards, added in Rescue Warrior too. It was a lotta fun back then!

I made a pure kaiju setup from the ground-up that worked exactly like this. I think you should be able to find it on YGOPRO still. It should be called ‘Rogue’s Chaotic Kaiju’.

So. I only use and have older gen card Up To 5d and maybe A Couple Numbers. But the og cards are always my best decisions and you just gave me a reallllly good idea for a fresh Relinquished Deck
I had a deck I played online that mainly used Kaijus and remove brainwashing as a tribute engine for Earthbound Immortals. I had some success with it.
One of my favorite things to do after using Owner's Seal was to XYZ into the Dreadnaught and detach for 2000 to end the game after attacking.
Kaijus + relinquished is a really fun deck to play.
Remove brainwashing is actually pretty good in a full Kaiju deck, as you can just infinitely tribute your opponents cards
Gen 5 i think? Was the time i got into yugioh digital version. Played the story, do daily login and one day get up with a whole graydle package in the bag- i was so excited and used to beat the entire story, and win my first ever multiplayer match against a diamon player- i stole his Ra iirc, and i ended the game with lava golem, was wild
I have long thought that owners seal would be great in a kaiju deck
My best friend loves using lava golem and remove brainwashing combo. Removes your opponents monsters while giving you a 3000 atk monster. It's It's really good strat

I remember running lava golem with pyro dragons so my opponent couldn't attack me and I just sat there slowly watching them burn.
I used to have a troll deck using Lava Golem and creature swap/ameba. Super fun.

I am now seething with rage.
It's bad enough when people just dismiss your creativity but then someone rips your idea and goes to a bigger tournament and suddenly they're pioneers. Additional fun fact for this deck, it's still a debatable call unfortunately, but I still stand with the original owner of a token is whomever owned the card that summoned the token since it's the only tangible root of ownership. Others have argued that tokens are their own entities and "original ownership" lies with wherever it's originally summoned but that relies on just keeping track. Plus at the time there were cards like ojama trio and shadow Archfiend that summoned tokens to the opponents field but owning the summoning card meant they could return to you.

How would Owner’s Seal work with an equip spell like Snatch Steal? Would you get your monster back AND get 1000 LP every turn?
Problem with Kaijus is that you can only control 1, that is what really hurt this strategy.

I had someone try this on me they gave me a kiju and lavagolem but i had power bond and i sent trieyed dice to my grave with it so i won thanks to lava golem

The Lava Golem is not your monster you cannot bring back to your control a monster that is summoned to your opponent side its the enemies character
