- Guitarist Pat Bergeson was "discovered" by the great Chet Atkins, who brought him to Nashville and put him in a well-deserved spotlight. Of course, Pat is also well known as a master harmonica player, demonstrated here in his rendition of the Hoagy Carmichael standard, "Stardust. Accompanied by Chris Walters on piano, live at the Nashville Jazz Workshop.

This never gets old. Love it!
Superb!
Absolutely beautiful!!
Man... this is a classy act.
Wow, didn't know you existed until today....... now I do, you blew me away, I love the harmonica. Thank you for this ❤
Great job Pat!
Que perfeição deste músico, além de ser um grande guitarrista é tbm um fenômeno na harmônica, tbm não podia ser né? Tocou vários anos junto com o mestre da guitarra Mr: Chet Atkins.

Is that a chromatic or diatonic harp?
@@johncoupland3334 He is playing chromatically on a diatonic harmonica. It takes a lot of practice and a well set up harmonica to play like this. Plus, it helps to be Pat Bergeson. He's very, very good.
Fabulous, as always.
Wow ..Pat Bergeson. Cant wait to hear you play in person. Excuse the pun but i am blown away:)
FANTÁSTICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome pat and guy on piano 👍🏻👍🏻
sickening!
I'm so happy I don't play the harmonica because then I would have thrown it out through the closed window by now haha!
fantastic!
Top notch
Nice work :)
O musico guitarrista, Pat Bergeson, faz aqui uma incurssão tocando gaita, num dos classicos da canção americana, do mais que famoso e grande compositor HOAGY
CARMICHAEL. Tudo lindo, neste Nashville Jazz. Cley Cormack.- Rio de Janeiro,Brasil 28/01/2014.

Esplendida versión
Yup....any questions?
Bravo, Pat! Now for a stupid question: How did you learn to play like that?!?
Practice and a well set up harmonica. A minimal understanding of music theory helps, too. It's a lot of fun to play, difficult to master like this, though it is certainly doable if one goes for it. One can order custom harps that have expert reed work done, everything is perfect, tuned however one wants.
@@roberttemple2521 There's no OTB harp that can do that, or approximate that?
No question.............
What key harmonica is that?????
Excellent!
Is it REALLY cross-harp (diatonic) , or chromatic harmonica, please?
Thank you.
it's a diationic harmonica, but he's not playing cross-harp (2nd position). He's playing straight harp {first position), using a C harp to play in the key of C.
Thanks to Howard Levy.
Anyone know what position he's playing in? EDIT: after much fiddling with different keys, I figured out (to my astonishment) that he's playing plain ol' 1st position/straight harp--C harmonica playing in the key of C.
came here to learn Stardust on harmonica, Umm Even if I practice a lifetime...--not... now that I'm here maybe I'll just listen....
Burning my harmonicas and taking up fishing.............shish
Yeah, well...good harp playing requires a certain skill set, but then so does good fishing!
Pat Bergeson is to the harmonica, what Tommy Emmanuel is to the guitar….just my humble opinion.
Wow. That is NOT easy on a diatonic harmonica.
