Hey History, Could you hold a steady shot for a few seconds rather then throwing in all these flash edits ? Never could see the complete sequence and forces involved.
0:37 is the one
I agree. Not everyone has crippling ADD! Give us the long form.
It seems to be some kind of stupid editing method that every show uses now. It totally sucks and ruins the product big time
They're holding onto the good shot until it airs this february
This was a practice jump so nobody was really recording it, this is probably clearer than the actual video tbh
Axel: i couldn’t even walk
Next scene: axel walking
CHRISGOTTA100ROUNDS he had a wrap on his finger that clearly wasn't right after the crash
@@micahhook3576 Lol it was just funny where they put the scene xd
😂😂😂
That’s all I thought
It’s not funny he crashed badly don’t be a jerk
Shouldve watched ronnie macs video on air wheelies first bud
Philip Sepulveda Such a underrated comment haha
😂😂😂
Ron69 and pbr fn rules
Hahahahahahahahhaha word!!!
That’s a fact right there
1:35 bottom right corner. The dude on the bmx bike got me weak
The BMX guy pulled a bunny hop over the ramp in all his excitement to get to the crash scene!
I was about to comment on this, good thing great minds notice style points lol
@@MTnumber11What sticks out the most is that its technically a tragic moment. Dude wasnt even sure if Axel was alive but he still finds time to have some fun lol
HeadlightHeartSurgeon hits a trick on the way to recover
Hey look a landing ramp 🤙🏻
I like Axle's calm, no hype demeanor. I hope he heals fully and has an injury free future.
I really enjoy his free riding videos over the distance jumps.
No hype? You didn’t like that cape & American flag?
Best rider out there. Hope for a speedy recovery bro.
I didn’t know Alpinestars could fold like that.
anything bends with that force of impact
@@marcd7332 shut up hes just trying to make a small joke about how stiff those race boots are and he didnt ask for you to make a nerdy comment.....
Beau_ McFadin_925 triggered
@@beau_mcfadin_9253 chill dude😂
Did the same thing in gaerne sg12s, broke my tib and fib
Nice break down of the CRASH, didn't say anything about what injuries occurred..
I agree . Also they only showed like one or two camera angles which you know something that big of a spectating event there would be at least six different angles there and that's not even counting everybody with smart phones
John doe this was on a practice day so I don’t think any spectators were around to film it.i think theses are the only angles of it
He broke both ankles
Broke both ankles. He plans to attempt the jump again Asap
@@nolangray43 but he was walking by his foot after that!
Hahaha the guy at 1:35 just had to make a bike jump appearance 😂😂😂
Uncle twitch has the medicine for that axel
I surprised his wrist didnt break when the front slammed down. That close up was brutal. Hope he heals fast and well, that dude makes amazing videos.
I love at the very end when the bike is still going in veers off to the right like “I am out of here”
All these "he should've done this or that"
Lot of experts on cycle jumping I see. Maybe y'all could show him how to do correctly.
Yeah don't do it is the correct way.
NoEZRider
all I need is a "invite"
@@travisgeorge7602 the only thing keeping you from jumping/flying a dirt bike 400 feet is an invitation? Yeah, me too. I was thinking 500 foot though.
Your a great athlete mate hope you get better soon . Live to ride brother
Ronnie Mac would've made that no problem 😂🍺
Easy for maC
Cut them fenders
Lyon King 619 hahaha I think he had a front brake red flag one it was a four stroke flag two had hella fenders flag three
@@keltoncanada7512 Are you having a stroke?
Yup it was the wind drag on the fenders. If he'd only took a hacksaw to that front fender he would have made it.
This was so gnarly! It takes balls to jump a ramp at 105 mph. Respect! I hope he tries it again soon. It's 2024, the year to break records!💯🤘🏼
The hard part is the next jump. That was amazing.
That is unbelievable. The bike ride off on it's own.
Well I see u on insta Man U still slaying keep it up👍🏽
1:35 Homie on his way to check...still gotta get that trick in...hahahaha
Good jumpin axel! You went down like evel...glad your ok..it looked cool af!
mikerafone music I don’t think Evel ever hit a jump close to 106mph
1:37 sweet bunny hop bro
Impresionante. 👍👍👍
Shouts out to that dude standing on the ramp recording and putting the phone down before he even touches the ramp
How about the guy on the bmx rushing to help him took time to pull a trick on the edge of the ramp
Haaaahaaa i just noticed that
For sale on Craig’s list: used Kawi 450 hardly ridden tons of factory trick parts minor scratches from dropping it on pavement 😎
Bryan Farley that thing has tens of thousands of dollars in it
Lance Kippenbrock I know, Obviously was a joke
when did this happen ?
1:36 This is how you do it Axell 😂
Mad respect
Why not tap the rear brake to bring the front end down ??
Show us how it's done
Keep it pinned while air-wheelie-ing
He did. You can see the front drop a little half way through the jump. Back break doesn't do much when you have all that wind resistance.
I agree, back brake would fix it, i think the colour of the ramp, height of the sun made it hard for him to judge the bikes angle to the ramp
@@xpusostomos if you've ever jumped a dirtbike you'd know that hitting the break usually levels you out
Thankfully you seem physically ok. Harder than it looks. 105mph is crazy fast.
I’ve never known a 450 to do more than 80 obviously geared
"Thats when i rode the boogie board"
Lol amazing
Legend has it the bikes still rolling
Glad you are doing ok man i know that had to do a number on your feet and ankles.
Glad you’re ok
Pushing the envelope, somebody has guts enough to try the new. Knievel and his son, Travis Pastrana, Seth, Robbie Maddison, have paved the way for dare devils of the future. It's not stopping yet as more are trying new things, those who live long enough in being able to tell their story
Can you play the clip from start till the bike falls from each angle and not edit it and chop it all up. ?
Axel is one of the best ever
Ankles has left the chat
Everybody gangsta till the bike starts riding by itself
Everybody gangsta till Jah starts riding dirtbikes
Alpinestars are a great boot.awsome protection
Brother has balls of steel
Brave Soul.
So lucky he stayed on as long as he did. The bike ate a lot of that impact.
Send it 🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥
Ouch!!!
I would have never thought of a pro racer on the history channel thats so cool lol
Ouch. ☠️
Went to see this live a bit disappointed in watching tv for about 3 hours before something happened no preshow or nothing but it was very exciting when the show began
Brings back the same feelings from watching the Seth Enslow overshoot
I was thinking the same thing.
evel would have went clubbing before he went to hospital
Do it on an old Triumph and Ill be impressed!
Still very impressive.
I work at that airport. Had to deal with that ramp for like a couple of weeks.
Must have been horrible
As a pilot it must have been annoying to you having to avoid the ramp.
Deal with the ramp ? You’re so lucky to have even witnessed such skill in person ... this man is making history what are you doing ? Hating ...
@@zomgkilla1 lol history just missed the back break and failed!
Ouch
Axel you rule!!!
landed it in my books
Ya mine to
That was a practice jump not the record distance
@Dave Pawson .08 of sec os a landing in my books
Holy shxt that was gnarly !
“Couldn’t even walk” *immediately cuts to clip of him walking
Crazy af
Watch robbie kneiv and his 500 the bike shock is all rebound look at when he rides. I'm surprised he hasn't done a off the seat bounce off
Oh my, the close up of his toes touching his shin yikes... didnt see that before
Yeah, that was gross to look at, his feet bent up way too far.ouch!
Anyone know how far he went
He just learned to backflip but I never seen someone who is that tec on a dirtbike plus doesn't mind catching some really serious are off of a jump he's young he will just get better if you haven't seen him ride check out his dirt shark videos on CZcams
Why distance was he going for and how far was this jump?
457 feet across at 136 mph ...
obviously it was too far
Hows the gearing to get to 105-106? Mph? Or feet?
Geared way up for top speed because his run in isn't limited.
I think he said 100+ at take off.
And that jump is definitely in the 400' ballpark. So gnarly.
I don't know the mph but it was definitely 300+ feet
Lucky man
Rule of Thumb: When sliding, draw a smiley face on the ground before you get up. If the smiley face is 10 feet long you haven't stopped sliding enough to stand.
The only thing I would say. Use a little back brake Mabey. It all happens so fast.
No doubt about it, that's more full send than anything before.
Full send: the next generation.
Man that bike just kept going
That’s why ppl tap the rear brake to level out and bring that front end down a bit.
His feet were on the pegs because he was about to land
I would have liked to see Evels rocket actually land on the other side of the canyon.
It did, several years ago with a stuntman and a rocket built buy Evel's original engineer's son using the same blueprints with a few changes to the nose and parachute release. It's on CZcams. Not much publicity.
😢❤
How far was it? Looked huge!
My guess would be 400 feet.
Happens to the best of us
It’s 2019 and that crash was recorded worst then evils back in his day. That’s ridiculous history channel.
Only Axell Hodges would try to land a record breaker on one wheel 😂.
I'm surprised he didn't tap the rear brake to drop the front end down(?)
That moment of impact I just want to edit that WASTED from GTA
😂😂
And 50 years ago 13 cars was crazy
That's why this was a jump for Ryan capes
Axel has more natural riding talent in his pinky than Ryan Capes has in his whole body.
is the kawi ok?
You should have taped the rear brake to bring it down.
mike schoolcraft don’t think brake tapping works when your in the air that long
Turbo Diesel well deploy the flaps, no flaps? If you are in the air that long, you better talk to an engineer.
Maybe at that speed and air time dident wanna chance endowing
Yeah cause that’s so easy at that speed and height lol.
Ben Williams you never rode a motorcycle. How does the height keep you from hitting the brake? He had a lot of time, fucktard.
He's the king of style couldn't he just throw a dank brake tap.
😂 yes
Right!? I was waiting for it..
First thing I thought too, wasn't on the rear brake at all
ThyPreciousAnkles have been slain.
Respawn?
(Y)
N
I love how he's using all that moto lingo lol
He literally used no moto lingo at all, so idk what you're talking about lol
Robbie Knievil # 1 ...... 🏍
Needed the 500
I dont understand why he didn't brake tap to level out?
Huge respect for having the sack to hit that at that speed. No rear brake tap to try and bring the nose down?
Going that fast = panic = lock-up fear = no brake tap.
Happens to the best of us riders
Ever tapped the brakes going 105?
@@cencoast_7.340 Well, it would have likely saved him....so.
doryman1000 You should contact him to let him know for the future, might save his life someday.
@@cencoast_7.340 That's a great idea. I'll do that.....
I wanna know how far he jumped
My guess would be somewhere near 400 feet.
He's lucky to have survived without death or serious injuries.
SanFranciscoBay death? You’re joking right. You must not have any clue how much a human body can take. It sucks the guy crashed but barring landing off the landing ramp he shouldn’t be “lucky” to survive.
@@someoneyouknow96 if he were to have bailed off the back a little before landing and slammed his head into the ground 105+mph... yea he's brain dead if not dead, not even helmets can stop that force
@@stealthytiger0182 Nobody said to bail. Axel is extremely talented. Im not sure why he didn't stab the brake to bring the front end down level for the landing.
Aerodynamics, wind was 105mph hitting his front tire, doubt it would have done anything
yep it happened this week with Alex Harvill which was so very unfortunate.
Do it again. Practice makes perfect.
Learn to jump before you fly. Hit the back brake to level out. With this new knowledge go forth and try again.
Thedeathfrmabove i think he knew this..the kid has very good knowledge of insane jumps insane jumps
He did halfway through the jump. Hitting the back brake doesn't do much at those speeds because of the wind resistance pushing him back.
Cant tell if his back tire is spinning, why wouldnt he check the back brake to push the nose down, specially that far into the jump. Is it because the distance of the jump?
Wasn't there some other safer route he could have taken?
Huh what do you mean
@@kmart9328 like drive around it
Yep, if i can clear a double jump i ride around it, he could have done the same
Only here in San Bernardino lol
Is the Bike OK!?
he should of tapped the rear brake to bring the front wheel down more. probably could of saved it.
