Well, in fact some couples only use a room for 20 mins quick sex. And like my former boss he allowed to reuse bedding. That is because he want to squeeze more profit. Which is unnecessary. The problem with cleanliness also easily fix with high performance tools. The cleaning machine and weekly schedule thoroughly checkups.
But as a person who never wished to do this kind of job. It’s disturbing every time i saw blood stained and human excretion. While it’s easy to clean up. Its more about mental imagery while cleaning that bothered my staff the most. It often dirty and unimaginable.
Well, it need someone with right attitude to take care of the love hotel for it to be pristine.
I never undertand why people have sex and found blood stain everywhere in the room :( and i prefer not to know.
Sometimes i heard prostitutes screaming in pain loudly. But my boss did not allow me to interfere them.
One of my customers suggested installing emergency ring button inside the room. But my boss never agree to do so.

The police would come and “educate” them. But nothing would change. Japan’s gay rights movement has gotten stronger especially with their first openly gay mp. So hopefully soon all g7 countries will allow gay marriage.
They'd then change their excuse to "they're foreigners so you can't", and since you're a foreigner you can't say shit. Other people have gone to court and they've won, but all that happens, the police comes and say "You can't do this. Bye." and nothing really changes.
Plus they still openly racially discriminate too they have a bunch of Japanese only clubs and stuff and will refuse entry to foreigners and even if you call the police they will just point you to a club that allows foreigners

NGL it's pretty upsetting that in this day and age, hotels in Japan are still discriminating against same sex couples. If this kind of discrimination is supposed to be illegal, I hope you report them to the authorities for it. It's really not okay.
To be honest it gives me second thoughts about vacationing in Japan with my partner if that's the kind of treatment we can expect.

I've lived here for like 8 months and I've only been discriminated against twice (and both times everyone was hella drunk so I didn't really mind). The homophobia problem is only present with conservative middle aged men. The youth and elderly are completely fine with gay people

I've only stayed in regular hotels. No problem so far. You wouldn't want to go to a love hotel on vacation.
My issue with this is that it clearly just targets gay men. I've seen the multiple videos from Tokyo Creative where four girls had no issue booking a room together. In fact it seemed like the love hotel encouraged get togethers for groups of women. I know there's probably other reasons why it's much easier for girls to get rooms together but it definitely just seems like they thinksex is the only reason two men would want to share a room.

In terms of homophobia, the vast majority of people in Japan(proven by surveys,etc) are in support of gay marriage and violent crime against LGBTQ is basically non existent as there's no major religious presence.
The thing is the old people(65+) are more homophobic on average, and changes are, the owner of a hotel is gonna be older. (Could be wrong)
In terms of laws, in the past few years there's been a big leap in gay rights, so it's very likely gay marriage will be legalized in the near future(most places in Japan already have provisions)

Honestly even if they aren't putting the names out publicly so that we can avoid them, I hope they are at least reporting the to the local gov. Not a good idea. In Japan, defamation laws are completely different than the rest of the world. If you say anything negative about a person or company, even if it is verifiably true, you can be sued to hell and back. There's victims of SA who get sued by their assaulter for coming out about it and the assaulter wins. Chris and Connor would be in huge legal trouble if they publicly released the names of the hotels even though what they reported was true.

How likely is it that they have illegal hidden cams in the rooms and they sell the footage "under the table"? Most of their clientele would be straight I assume. I dont know, Ive just been seeing a lot of people finding hidden cams in hotel rooms in the US so I have to wonder...
