you can also monitor with apple tv and a large screen tv. in the studio. I use that feature all the time.
Great info! I just upgraded to the 15Pro. I bought a Ninja V a year ago and never used because I did not realize My 5DMK4 does not output 4K HDMI. MY big question is: Will I get more dynamic range by recording on my Ninja or is it really just sending the HDR footage from the phone? I love my 13 Pro, but there just isn't enough depth in skin tones for me. I go back and forth between the video output from the phone and Filmic Pro. IS Blackmagic better?

The iPhone 15 models out video up to 4K/60Hz Natively.
So you will have to choose a model of Atomos monitor that support this. I don't know every single model and what it supports so this is something you will have to research.

What are your thoughts on using the Atomos Ninja with iPhone 15 Pro Max? What do you think about screen mirroring?
Great discovery and cool video! Two questions: 1) What cable and hub would you need to monitor and record from an iPhone 15 Pro Max with a Ninja V? 2) Have you noticed better quality by recording directly on the Ninja V (when comparing to regular 1080 material)?

I believe this should be possible with AirPlay depending on your iPad model and iOS version. You may want to check Apple forums to get the details on how to get it to work.

Nice video! I see that in the settings -> accessories, there Is an option for Bluetooth accessories and nucleus nano. Have you tried if you can pull focus in the iPhone with an accessory? 🙏 thanks
I have not used this feature (as I don’t have a wireless follow focus”) however, I have seen other CZcamsrs use the feature so I can confirm that it in fact does work!

Do you need to power the set-up with the hub externally (except for the Ninja’s battery)?
I’m imagining the Ninja V monitor is receiving a 59.97 refresh rate from the iPhone display and not the direct output of the cameras frame rate, which is so unfortunate. I’m looking forward to when Apple releases Raw Output from the iPhone to a field monitor.

Since you asked there is actually something that kinda competes with this setup, a Sony Xperia 1V with the Sony Vlog Monitor. The Sony Vlog monitor is much smaller than the Atomos ninja thus making the setup much more portable, and in my opinion the Xperia 1V shoots better looking video than the IPhone 15 Pro. However, that setup is pretty solid as well.
does the Sony Xperia 1V have SLog3 or some Log color profile? I'm guessing the camera app does provide the fine grained control like BMCA (only on iOS)?
@@MaximoJoshua it doesn't have s SLog3, but it has HLG & Cinetone. And yes it offers full manual control of the camera.
@@wonderjaxe hmmm, I kind of like having a published log profile with color space transforms and color management. Maybe Sony will add it now that Apple has done it.

This is something I will have to try out! I have not seen any info on this yet however, I assume that running the iPhone through OBS or any other streaming software would allow close to the same possibilities as other cameras.
