But when sonny is on pitch without kane, it’s different. the team tends to becomes more organised with various attacking options. So it makes spurs more winnable team. Son is great, but how can u rubbish Kane like that? Yes he's had a bad start to the season, but look at last season and every one before that. Kane has consistently outscored Son. Last season Kane assisted Son more than Son assisted him. Kane got more goals AND assists than Son in LESS games... When Kane was injured last season we didn't win any matches(even against Brighton).
      Kane scored more goals without Son than Son did without Kane.
      Kane carried the team most of the time last season, not Son. The only time Son has completely carried Spurs was during that great champions league campaign. Otherwise Kane was carrying us.

      Burnley, Brighton, Huddersfield (double), WBA and many others turned Nuno's sides over with ease. A poor Watford stood between Wolves and a FA cup final. Two goals up, ten minutes left, space galore as Watford commited men forward and he takes off our two best players, instructs the team to sit on our own 18 yard line - and we lost.
      You'll get sick of his false humility act for the cameras and you'll tire quickly with his obsession over defensive midfielders. His game management is abysmal and he can only play a game that involves giving up possession and hitting teams on the break.
      When that worked at Wolves it was the best football we'd seen in 40 years (which wasn't hard) but once other managers worked us out - took 18 months - we became as boring a side as I've ever seen. He has no plan B.

Today as you said, we should have started with rodon (and moved Tanganga to RB). Dele should have never played on the wing. He could have been in the midfield , and gill should have started. If dele was given a new role in the first 3 games, why in the world was he moved to the wing. One can argue that Nuno has to let go his ego for the club at times. I personally felt that he did not want to play tanguy , and he decided - lets move dele to the wing and start with winks in the middle. It is only at difficult times, that the character of team is tested. Look what chelsea did against liverpool, and look what we did against crystal palace. COYS! Nuno, if you read this message. Please play tanguy :) and ask dele to act quickly when he has the ball. • @Lim_Louis
    @Lim_Louis Před 2 lety +16

    When you start a match with a midfield trio of Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, things will be tough as they can't hold the ball well, they can't trouble the opponent with their passing and they can't bring the ball forward from the congested part of the midfield. Despite all the reported problems with Tanguy Ndombele, it would have been preferable to start him in one of those midfield spot.
    Then starting Alli and Moura alongside Kane is gonna be a huge challenge tactically since both Alli and Moura's style of play sees them regularly drop down deep to help out in midfield and defence. So even when Kane does get the ball, who the hell does he lay it on to? And then there is Lucas Moura again. In the couple of plays where he got the ball in the second-half, once he chose to burst forward and take on 4, yes FOUR, Palace players when he could have turned back and pass it to a teammate who wasn't in any pressure and he lost possession in the blink of an eye. The second time he has the ball, Kane made a good run into the penalty area and Lucas' opponent did not even close him down, Lucas could have set Kane free on goal with a pass but he held on to the ball for whatever reason and when he finally passed it, Kane was already nowhere near it and the pass was a straight pass to a back-pedaling Palace player. It was frustrating again but not really a surprise.
    Emerson had a torrid time against Wilfried Zaha. And he was caught out of position by not getting back asap once possession was lost multiple times. He did outmuscle Zaha once though in the closing stages of the match. It was his first Premier League match and hopefully he successfully adapts to it.
    Winks, Skipp, Højbjerg, Alli and Moura are all very hard-working players, yes, and I applaud them for it. But the penetration is not there at all. If a stick gets too hard, it breaks easily and that was what happened in this match. Putting in Ndombele and Bryan Gil could have had a drastic change of complexion to this match. Maybe. Who knows.

      @@4ce5bf154 Yup. I was bashed from the left, right, center, back and front from replies when I commented that Levy should never have sacked Pochettino and worst of all, hire a man who verbally insulted our team publicly multiple times back then. The problem with the squad already started from before the season when Poch was sacked. Poch wanted a rebuild, to get rid of the stagnated players and bring in new blood. But Levy would not grant it. Shit happened as we all knew and Poch was unfairly sacrificed. The rebuild could have happened back then with Poch still in charge of the squad, instead of what we have now.
      Though I would like to point out, while it is easy for me or anyone else to criticize how Levy went about things, we do not know how much restrictions they are facing. But AT THE VERY LEAST, there was no need to sack Poch to deflect pressure since the issue wasn't with him. At least he would still be at the helm now while the rebuild is taking place.

      @@lela7436 Poch felt different in interviews, there was an edge to him. He started to voice out his displeasures over transfers and sales and as when he was sacked, it became clear why. This was what I saw from publicised reports - He wanted certain transfers and sales to happen, he wanted to install cameras at Enfield to better monitor players' training, a couple of senior players approached him to ask for a transfer away.
      Poch decided to get more involved in transfer dealings as seen in reports and also by Bruno Fernandes' own admission that Poch was present throughout the club's approach for him. Fernandes decided to join us only for Levy to pull the plug on the deal and got Ndombele instead. That probably pissed Poch off. But in a word of fairness, Ndombele looked and felt the part during that season at Lyon. He looked like a Moussa Dembélé with more of an offensive touch. But as time would tell, we now see how different both players have adapted to moving to England. Then there was the Kieran Trippier issue. Poch wanted the team to secure Ricardo Pereira first before selling Trippier. But Levy sold Trippier off before getting any right-back in, a decision Levy probably quickly executed since it was good money for Trippier at his age. And as we all know, we got stuck with Aurier, an absolute nightmare of a right-back. Vertonghen and Eriksen were the two senior players who approached Poch to request to be sold, Poch relayed their wishes to Levy but Levy did not want them off at that time. With regards to transfers, it was all these and also the stagnated players Poch couldn't get the team to sell which I could see why it got him so riled up.
      Another highlighted issue in the reports was the installation of cameras at the training ground. Levy refused the proposal by Poch then Poch offered to pay for the installations out of his own pockets. It was still rejected. Poch felt that it was a necessary move to better monitor players in training and for the coaching staff to devise more efficient training routines. I guess it was a situation where Poch got more anxious to improve the team since the Champions League Finals appearance as it was a good time and momentum for the team to be reinforced. He probably got aggressive in his approach and it irked Levy, I think so. Poch probably got way too frustrated at the lack of things happening during that time, I think. I still think back on Levy mentioning on the Amazon documentary saying only time will tell if the sacking was the right decision, well, I personally didn't need any time to know that it is the end of all previous hard and great work done. We don't really know if what more transpired behind for the sacking to happen, but what I only know was the team has stagnated even before that time and lots of playing personnel changes had to happen, but most definitely not a managerial change.

    As everyone else said, it's pretty poor. I knew Palace would turn up and play like a prime Barca outfit. They always do against us. As soon as I saw the lineup and positioning my heart just sank because I could see it coming. We lost our goal differnce in one game.

    Son Heung-min will suffer from injuries more often in the future. Hamstrings and calf injuries are not completely cured. In addition, if Son does not play, the game will become terrible, so Son will inevitably accumulate fatigue endlessly.

    I believe Spurs can do better. Yesterday was a disaster. Tangangga would have a lesson.(Not sure Ben Davies would have...) Still Suprs can show good performance in defense. The problem I think is who can pass the ball to Kane and Son. Moura is good at dribbling now. But I think the way MF to FW should be more improved. It's just 4R now. We have 34R. I hope Nuno can fix this .
