EMS in Crisis

The goal of our documentary is to raise awareness for the need to designate EMS as an essential service in every state in America. EMS are the first responders to care for patients but they are not funded appropriately and so retaining these valuable health workers is unsustainable. This is something that will affect all of us and we should be very concerned. The film explores the undeniable value of EMS, inherent problems with the current fractured system and solutions some states are implementing to formally embrace and fund this third arm of our 911 emergency service. EMS is a diverse system in the US. In some areas the fire service provides EMS, in others private companies, still others are volunteer services, you have hospital based, and third service government. I have found that federal fire service EMS was the best pay and benefits I have ever gotten. The next best, third service government for pay and benefits. I have worked for private services and they vary from one service to the next. Some are really great to work for and others suck. The one thing that is constant is that no one thinks about an ambulance until they need one and politicians seem to think you can run an ambulance on little to no overhead expense.

This is Horrible, Even though I’m a Cop in the Biggest City, I’m also an EMT and I can tell you as I’m on a lot of these Jobs I’m talking to EMT’s and Paramedics, They’re telling me a Horror story that is arising us very quickly I just posted this to my Instagram page, I hope we can wake America up to this fast moving Nightmare if America doesn’t wake up and fix this!!
