    I’m not sure what this guy is talking about when he says there is a confluence of three big rivers nearby Missoula. Is he referring to the Missouri headwaters state park, where there is the confluence of the Jefferson, Gallatin, and Madison? If so, that is over one hundred miles away and much closer to Bozeman, MT. Also, it’s nice to know there is good ice cream in Missoula, but I would have appreciated more information on real estate, professional industries, crime stats, the role of the college in the town/daily life, etc.

    I was sad to leave because of the natural beauty and the charm of the place, but there isn't much in Montana for opportunity. Plus, the cloudiness will drive you crazy if you are prone to depression. I just felt like my life was going nowhere there, though it did hurt a lot to leave.

    I can’t find a single video that gives useful information about moving to Missoula. It’s all about places to go there. I want crime stats, cost of living, rent/home prices, jobs and salaries… can anyone recommend any?

      Thanks for your comment. We have some more missoula content planned for this summer and will address some of those issues.

    That was a totally awesome video I wish it was a little bit more in depth but it gives me a bit of an idea. My mom my brother and my brother's kids all want to move to Montana but haven't figured out where yet and I'm an OTR truck driver. So I just got through here today and this is a beautiful beautiful town that you guys have. We'd be moving out of Idaho My mom lives in Pocatello I live in the Boise area and it's just gotten too congested with new people moving into the Idaho area in Montana seem like it was just our cup of tea At least my mom's my mom is an Old hippie. And so is my brother he's kind of a hippie himself. Me I'm just laid back and would love to River surf cuz you can't do it in Idaho anymore you get caught and it's a fine.

      Hey Isak,
      I'm planning some more videos about Missoula that will go a bit more in depth and compare it to other cities. Let's chat about getting your family here.

    Why are there no trees on the mountains?

      Some spots there are trees, some spots there aren't any.

      You lost me at the best weed, hopefully it doesn't smell like weed everywhere you go

      @HarrisGroupMT  Před 2 lety +1

      Definitely doesn't smell like weed everywhere you go. In fact I don't think I got a wiff of it the entire time I was there. It's a college town though and probably the best weed friendly part of Montana.

      Missoula Valley used to be a lake. If you look on the Mountain behind the university, you can see the striation marks of the different water levels. You can also fins sea shells if you dig.

    I've lived in Missoula off and on now since the mid 80s, with continuous stretches of residency as long as 10-years, and quite honestly, it's no better or worse than any other place in the intermountain west, but there are a number of things people should know. The sun RARELY shines here, VERY rarely, and winters, are far-far longer than most people are will to recognize or admit. True summer, can only be found here in July and August. That's it! September brings fall, and winter typically lasts from October through May, bounded on both sides by rain and perpetually grey skies. The availability of both housing and jobs is atrocious, and the median priced home is WAY beyond the reach of most wage-earners or even many salaried professionals. Politically speaking, it's a college town, with 85-90% of the communities revenue stream coming directly or indirectly from student loan money, period! So it is populated largely by young, liberal, woke, indoctrinated, unsophisticated, shallow-minded, y- and z-gener neo-Marxists.

    Stay away, lived there over 10 years.....not worth it. High cost of living and no opportunity.
