- It's new car day and this one will be an interesting one! Years after selling my Focus RS MK2 its time to get back into one from a different perspective! Its wrecked! Restoration time...

That's a Milltek exhaust, Airtec intercooler, K sport brakes and looks lowered and has an Autospecialists plenum. Decent tyres, clean MOT history so I reckon it's been enthusiast owned until the accident. I reckon about 400bhp. RS had a lot of bespoke parts compared to the rest of the Focus range (suspension, wings, bumpers, brakes) so anything not basic Focus is gonna be £££. Hope you can restore it to its former glory.

That belonged to my neighbour 3 doors down ,and yes he did love it ,the accident was not his fault ,head on with someone on the wrong side of the road

He has said that will be a very long term project because if how expensive it will be to complete.
The TVR is not a simple fix to do it properly, he has to rebuilt all he car starting with the frame
I know the original comment doesn’t indicate this, but seeing people getting pissy over easier cheaper projects being prioritised over a project that needs a full frame rebuild that the dude doesn’t even have in his garage because he’s sent the frame away to be rebuilt is hilarious. If you’re dying to see a TVR rebuilt look for a completed project or do it yourself
To be honest, I think he’s regretting buying it touching it and it’s taking up mass amounts of garage. Space
Dean, you can make an RS arch liner with 2 ST liners, they are about £35 each 👍 Plenty info online mate.

Think it's cut and shut of 2 liners together to make the extra width
@@SavingSalvage Christiano is right Dean you just plastic weld them together using a temp controlled soldiering iron you can get a cheap one off Am(zon) and use it at the lowest heat at (170) degrees and start welding aka gluing them together from the back and them blend the weld at the face of the liner that you see in the wheel arch i do similar for welding my 3d printed parts together for a seamless join

It's shocking i paid over 500pounds just for the front lower grill in black from Ford dealer about 4 years ago mine was starting to rust. Still have the rs in green not a cheap car but loads of fun. Good luck with the build 👌

The green uprated plenum chamber that is plastic as as standard and breaks if running too much boost so its been uprated and the give away is the airtec intercooler so it's probably running 400bhp
Lee the inner wheel arch liners are two ST liners one is cut down to make the liner 60 quid from ford
I have a Mk3 RS but the Mk2 is just iconic. Beautiful car, great colour. Can’t wait to see it fully repaired 👌👍
Dean love the car and that colour. Just a heads up the loud ticking is a stuck heater blend door actuator which luckily in your case is a dash out job
I feel stage 2 it has KSport brakes with floating discs and just those alone are around £1500 Stage 2 intercooler and the inlet is Airtec aftermarket. . The exhaust is aftermarket as well so its pointing to a stage 2 upwards

Probably a good sign that it was once supplied by RS Direct at some point in its life. Noticed the rear number plate.
Nice change from the usual expensive VAG stuff you usually do, although I think that you may have too many cars unfinished at the moment. My guess is that the RS is at a stage 2 state of tune, will be interesting to find out and of course see the whole thing rebuilt and test driven within an inch of it's life!
I suspect this car has:-
Jamsport 400 remap,
Milltek exhaust (with 200 cell sport cat),
H&R lowering springs,
Airtec stage 1 intercooler,
650cc injectors, Auto Specialist intake plenum,
K SPort 356mm discs with Pagid pads.
Good to see one of these being repaired.

I own a white 2009 focus rs I absolutely love it. Looking forward to the build on this one.
I have a white one with the all important upgraded black Dynamica seats. The standard seats in this one spoil it. The exhaust is a Miltek the quieter option I took mine off and replaced it with a Mongoose cat back

Looks like a section 59 exhaust and that’s and AS plenum. Id guess it’s a stage 1 tune with an uprated intake and intercooler and exhaust. My grey st is stage 3 running 340 lovely cars good choice

RS wheel arch liners are just ST liners extended. Just buy two ST and connect them together.
I loved my Green RS Focus. Only kept it 9 months from new as I wasn’t using it. Wish I’d kept it now😢
Love Fast Fords the RS you purchased sits up there with the Cossies, however the cost of spares, bloody hell. I do like to see Old Ford’s put back on the road.
Owned one of these for over 10 year's and id say looking at that one its a 6/7 out of 10

The clicking noise is one of the motors for the heater blend flaps. 👍
As plenum is aftermarket also the ksport brake calipers are 8 pots.

My favourite colour Focus RS❤❤ The K Sport brakes could even be 8 pot, the same as on my Audi TT QS. I reckon it's at least stage one tuned. Looking forward to this one.

Mods are Auto specialist inlet plenum and looks like an induction kit I’d say auto specialist/ airtec with updated hoses and airtec intercooler and looks like a mongoose exhaust and of course the ksport brakes personally I’d say at least stage 2 tune maybe stage 3 350-400bhp ish looking forward to seeing this rebuild 🤙🤙

Those front calipers are K Sport forge 8 pot, if I'm not mistaken
Oh I so love these cars. When I had my MK2 RS 2000s, it was the same deal, it was like rs value added tax at the Ford dealer when getting parts. The wings are unique to the rs, and so the inner arch. You have me wanting one even more now. Fab cars.

If you cant find a arch liner from an RS, they are essentially 1 and a half ST ones riveted together. You can make one, Evil GT made his own looks decent enough.
I've got the same exhaust, its a miltek ultimate. Sounds exactly the same

That blue one you looked at, I won it twice at copart. The second time round, they wanted £18k for it. That is ludicrous price. These are worth no more than 10k tops damaged, Dean.

Looking forward to seeing this get repaired. Always loved this colour and the orange this came in too. Great little 5 cylinder monster & slightly more attainable (for most) than some other cars you’ve done, best of all it’s a proper manual with a 3rd pedal. Crack on!
Orange? Just the ST in Orange mate this is the RS. Only available in white/blue/green and the RS500 in black.

im with you tbh, oldschool RS fanboy, had few RSs back in the day, escort cossie or rs500 was the dream,then it all went to shit with the focus although i do quite like the mk1 focus RS, the rest are an abomination

be running stage 2 if they have fitted induction and intercooler.depends if it has a sports cat.if it hasnt then ide say stage 1.they also come from factory with pilot 4s mine did.get it on a rolling orad once finished url soon find out .kms thunderstorm sounds awsome on them cat back

The mk 2 RS is the equivalent of an BMW E46 M3, the best shape and timeless design IMO.
You have yourself a new subscriber and loving the focus plus I'm a Ford guy as these were the ones who started the cars that were cool to own even owning one of the old fords are still super cool to this day so I can't wait to see the finished focus and good luck my friend
Alot of ST parts can sort this car out.Dash, airbag,aircon dryer & pipes,front panel and headlight with washer jet,windscreen.Just bumper,wing & liner will be RS specific

The green plenum is an upgrade to the standard plastic unit, just check the T pipe off to the resonator so that the diaphragm isn't split losing boost if it already hasn't been capped off or replaced with a dump valve.

Your gonna have to paint the bumper wing bonnet door plus a pillar to get that colour to match the parts are pricey cuz it’s an RS there selling £20k upwards
i had a 2009 Focus Zetec S 1.8 TDCI briefly. loved it but it had many issues. i bought a bit of a lemon. i wish I'd had the money to go through everything and make it 100% but i was moving from my first car to 2nd needing it to just work. did a few things like split boost pipe and other little things but then found bigger things like a brake issue (possibly vacuum pump) and i had to scrap it and move on. I do like Fords when they are good but i think they are costing too much in general, the RS has been on my dream car list for a while...
My all time favourite car in terms of exterior looks, the nicest colour on a vehicle. Black alloys I prefer though👌

Hi have you ever been in a Focus ST 2.5 it's exactly the same the seat belts actuators the modulators for all the same ford do not make specific things for one vehicle certain things wings bumpers but electricals they're all the same so look to buy a cheap St with a blown engine you will have the dash and everything you need

Ive been a VW/Audi guy for years. But I do love a fast Ford. Shame they dont make them any more, Id probably buy one now.
Cool minty colour. Ford is taking the piss with parts pricing. You should build a template and start manufacturing fibreglass wings as a side gig.
