Blaine - Hides the location of his gym in a way that makes it impossible to find unless you get lucky and disguises himself so no one can find him. Also has the match over a pit of freaking lava!! The hell, Blaine!?

You can't pass here until I have my coffee/give the package back to prof. Oak/you can't use the public tunnel system until you get to the one town that has mall with a vending machine to give me a soda...which I will give to all the other guards somehow 🤔

Or the one where he had Pikachu somehow take down a Donphan and two other Pokémon with a single Thunderbolt (never mind the fact that ground types are supposed to be IMMUNE to electric type moves)...
Unlike Pokemon, Digimon can transform quickly to other forms much like Super Saiyans so Agumon can just go Wargreymon and Pikachu can't do anything.

@@matustakac6961 I was just responding to QTcollect who said that Pikachu "can't do anything". There are also Z moves that Pikachu can use that are hilariously OP. 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt for example? Last I checked, such large jolts of electricity cannot be good for lifeforms based around electronics (like Wargreymon).
Gigantamax, imposter, mega evolution, zen mode, primal reversion, power construct, relic song, forecast, cherrim's overcast and sunshine forms, battle bond, stance change, schooling, shields down, disguised form, and busted form.
@@psychotheunsane7285I don’t think the guy arguing for digimon was doing the best with it, but… digivolution is usually running on Ben ten transformation logic: the only time a digimon has had its digivolution interrupted halfway through was when they were being actively slowed down by email spam.
Digivolutions are presumably a lot faster than both Gmax and Zmoves.
You also have to factor in human reaction time to some degree for Ash. Agumon mostly fights on his own, while Pikachu both relies on his own intuition and Ash’s input. I’m willing to bet Wargreymon would actually take this if it wasn’t pretty much just a popularity vote, especially since Ash is not soloing Agumon after the fact.
Mind you, that might be because I don’t give the cosmoem feat any credence, as if it was the case, that means that Lily- and by extension her bag- have managed to hold up all that weight regularly. Cosmoem can float, I fully believe it’s intentionally dropping it’s weight a fair bit if ash is carrying it around passively. Aura ain’t filling that blank for me, even though it does almost every other time.
@@morallygary9098 pokedex information is basically BS, otherwise Dorkly pokedex cartoons are also canon, or we assume everyone on the pokemon world is like this freaky super human where gravity is x10 as harsh, and to get burnt all the fires are like 20000c because we see people hugging slugmas.

Don’t forget about Ash’s other strength feats too, like tossing a log through the air and jumping onto a hot air balloon while it was in the air. And it’s not like Ash would be unwilling to get his hands dirty, considering he attempted to punch Mewtwo itself!
And keep in mind that Ash is only using 1% of his full power when doing so. He took lessons from Shaggy. ;)
@@knightofarkronia8652 He straight up THREW Mewtwo about 20 feet into the air in "Mewtwo Returns". Mewtwo weighs 269 pounds, probably about twice what Ash weighs. This is following basically carrying Mewtwo up a staircase that had to be around half a mile in length (if not longer). Ash is a total chad.

Ben kept hyping up Pikachu's power pulling sources and making it a relatively well made case even though he 100% didn't believe Ash had even a sliver of a chance while Agumon's defender hyped how cool they were. Which is based but not really what he should have been focusing on.

I'm gonna be that guy. Ash's Pikachu could go up against greymon and maybe metal greymon if it dynamaxes. War greymon is something else entirely though. Also Tai has been killed and willed himself back into existence and basically said he'll keep coming back. So the argument for me is does ash have a way to permanently bring tai down. Another feat is his defeat of machinedramon. Machine dramon body is made of chromedigizoid which is the strongest metal in the digital world arguably stronger than diamonds depending on the version and wargreymon moved so fast and struck so hard that he in his own words "sliced him like an onion" clean through. And I'm not even getting into the bollocks levels of Final Evolution.

Ash has done the same. Similar to Tai and Agumon, Ash’s presence empowers Pikachu. As long as their bond exist they can make the impossible possible, so they would need their existence and being to be completely wiped out as if it never existed to begin with to be taken down for good.

I still prefer Digimon over Pokemon because it changing the cast every Season or 2 allows for better growth & development of the characters, & having the Digimon talk allows them to be more the just pets to the Digidestined.

@@yam_kesem6340 Not really, the only people who abuse their pokemon are dudes like team rocket and some of the gym leaders and elite 4 members in the manga, most regular Pokémon with their trainers basically chose to live in the poke ball and do battles, and they dont really fight to the death.
I think there's an important difference. When Tai and the Digidestined save the world, their Digimon are the ones fighting.
When Ash and the others are involved in saving the world, it's mostly the new Legendary of that generation doing all the fighting against the other legendary. Pikachu doesn't take a meaningful part in those fights.
Wargreymon could destroy Pikachu. Greymon could.

Ash's Pikachu's has taken down legendaries. A lotta vanilla Champion/Adultmons would kneel before Ashchu. MetalGreymon stomps with mid-difficulty despite me saying that.

Because that's the only time I can recall where Pikachu actually meaningfully helped unlike much if not all of the other times Ash and Pikachu got involved with Legendaries

I can't believe there are still some people in favor of Pokemon winning a fight over digimon. Just look up Jesmon GX and tell me Arceus wins. Look up Omegamon and tell me that Zygard would stomp. The list goes on, but clearly a lot of people never saw Red and Charizard vs Tai and Agumon.

A lot of it is misinformation, and lack of information. I've seen people look at the old DB and ask why Red and Charizard went up against the strongest digimon. I've seen people say that Digimon are limited to servers and thus beating them is just a matter of destroying the servers.
Plenty saw the death battle but skipped the info stuff. I've seen a few times people argue why Red and Charizard should have beat Ty and digimon. People so uninterested in what's on Digimon's side that they couldn't even be bothered to type out their names.

As an avid fan of both, I think Pokemon and Digimon(based on all media), are equivalent to each other until ultimate-mega level digimon. Then from there only pokemon capable of surpassing their species limits or have hax are capable of competing. But yes the highest tier digimon absolutely obliterate the highest tier of pokemon, but that’s ignoring all the lower tiers
You guys missed the opportunity to use the Manga versions of both characters, because they are VERY similar. Tai in a cape training his Blue Greymon to win in a tournament, versus the guy who fought off a naturally dynamaxed Haunter.

@RippahRooJizah It is not, my good sir. Tai in the Manga had a badass cape and a blue Greymon that he was training to become the best Digimon in a digital world spanning tournament. Meanwhile, Ash in his manga, and very early at that, fought against a Haunter that, by today's standards, was dynamax sized and won. Both manga go ridiculous fast.

While I haven't followed Pokemon's anime in many years I knew Ash's Pikachu was a special case from what I've heard.
I still didn't think Pikachu could beat any form over MetalGreymon, though. At best, Pikachu may get an edge over MetalGreymon in some circumstances, but that's about as far as he's going.
Also, Gundramon isn't one of my favorites, but I do kinda like him because I wonder if he was designed to take the piss out of people who say Digimon are just animals with guns strapped onto them.

In the case of adventure and 2020, agumon is the base digimon, the form they stay in to save energy.
I agree, using Zeromaru would be completely overpowered, as it's implied that his ancient data gives him power a level above what he should have, like the strength of an ultimate at the level of a champion.
But you also have to consider, having V-Tamer wouldn't entirely work for this scenario, as not only are they parallel realities, but they fundamentally work differently.

With the evolutions being more random in 2020, what do you mean?
If you're looking at ponchomon, that evolution was brought to the sound waves from etemon and volcamon disrupting the data in the surroundings, and being contracted by marakas, or if you're looking at blitzgreymon itself, that evolution was brought by a highly electrical environment, allowing the evolution to be hinged towards said environment. Or, for CresGarurumon, it's the idea of fighting in a different method that inspired that evolution, trading the high-tech ranged capabilities for more physical-focused speed and strength.

About why it would make sense to leave V-Tamer out, the entire evolution system, while similar, has points of differentiation and change, with that incarnation of Tai not even really being a digi-destined, while 2020 is just a true parallel retelling of the original adventure.
@@balmung7599 I agree that the random armour evolutions was a strange occurrence, but Alter-S was simple a slide evolution on behalf of its components, WarGreymon to BlitzGreymon and MetalGarurumon to CresGarurumon.
And I didn't intend to say UlforceVeedramon was a lower tier royal knight, I believe even without Future Mode he is among the higher echelon, I was just saying that WarGreymon was already comparable in raw power to Leopardmon and Crusadermon.
I will also quickly point out, Future Mode wasn't innately from Zeromaru or Taichi themselves, it was a temporary mode change incited by the digimental, so if we're not allowing any outside influence, Future Mode wouldn't be considered.

Same outcome. Pikachu is more intelligent than an average Pokémon (something the hosts ignored when they pitted him against Blanka*), but Wargreymon would obliterate him. With that done, Ash would stand no chance against either of them.
* Pikachu has displayed human-level intellect and the ability to think for himself in battle, though he is willing to defer to Ash, usually. He communicates using rhymes and charades, took charge when the Pokémon and humans got separated (even figuring out how to operate a Poké Ball), used his tail as a platform to avoid Raichu's strongest attack, etc. That DB episode *really* did him dirty.

Ash's Pikachu is a special case.
You forget that tie and the others survived and fought something that can completely erase you from existence and still came back by cheer willpower. And unlike pokemon digemon can die Pokemon, just faint it takes a lot to kill a digimon.

I loved the video by the way keep up the great work but, the way that Tai and Agumon were repped in this just saddens me. The only argument that the dude made was that Digimon is a great show. We do know a few feats about them because of the death battle they already did with them, but that was ages ago and not only have they gotten stronger but you guys have a team to help put more research and calcs into the feats. I'm probably just ranting at this point but I'm just kind of sad with how easily Ash won because of it. Keep up the good work though anyway, It has been a year and I'm loving your videos still!

Endangering Tai doesn’t disrupt the connection with Agumon, it just speeds it up. While they were still learning the basics of Digivolution they realized their Digimon would instantly Digivolve whenever they were in danger (ex. Agumon Digivolving to Greymon to protect baby Tai and Kari from a collapsing bridge even though they didn’t have a Digivice). And the logic of if they’re data then they’re not real doesn’t work because the Porygon line are digital Pokémon. Digimon though unlike Porygon need air and bleed (in one of the Last Evolution Kizuna shorts Gomamon got hit by a vehicle and was severely bleeding so Joe had to operate on him quickly). A lot of iterations of Digimon have things from the Real World turn into data when they enter the Digital World and vice versa (the Tamers needed to become data in order to combine with their Digimon, humans could get their fractal code taken and potentially turn into Digi-Eggs in Frontier, food and supplies that were transported to the Digital World got deleted in Savers, etc.).
There isn’t multiple Digital Worlds per computer. More computers activated caused the Digital World to expand and even when the first two computers were permanently shut down the Digital World still exists. Each universe only has one Digital World when it comes to the anime (as seen in Xros Wars). General Digimon lore does have different Digital Worlds, but it works differently because there are no actual computers, just gods that act as host computers for the Digital Worlds (ex. Yggdrasil for the main Digital World, old Digital World, and NEW Digital World or Homeros for Digital World: Iliad).
This should be a Death Battle episode!

Our journey with ash is almost done next year it is ending the ash saga which holy cow I am surprised after 25 years that they are ending if you told me they were going to end ash’s story and move on to different protagonist I would have denied it but it’s actually happening and I give them applause for doing so it takes alot of guts to do so dragon ball never did that they tried durning the buu saga to not be about goku. I always sorta saw it as being implied and we never actually got to see the end result of that fight. Probably safe to say Pikachu’s definitely come back from worse since then as well.
In a “feral” or emotional state Pikachu was able to discharge enough electricity to eclipse a mountain and essentially nuke all the wild Pokémon on it that were fighting to kill.

Another option could be that they are both aware of each others powers, and Delsin purposely keeps his distance, and goes into battle with his concrete powers so that the electricity can’t harm him, this could give Delsin the edge.

Also I feel lioe overall Digimon is a lesser known franchise. I remember as a kid the great Pokemon vs Digimon debates in the schoolyard and I'd say around 2005 was when that stopped and Digimon lost a lot of popularity.
