Made for the purpose of keeping the transition between Superfast Jellyfish and Empire Ants as it is on Plastic Beach. Superfast Jellyfish and Empire Ants are by Gorillaz, I don't own shit.
jellyfish is so silly yet has a feeling of deflation towards the end, which is the perfect transition into the introspective and beautiful drunken wallowing helplessness that is empire ants.
I binged the entire Plastic Beach album in one sitting and when I heard this transition and the eventual beat drop from Empire Ants for the first time time I almsot burst into tears.
For me, these 2 songs feel like one long song about consumerism and corporate greed. Superfast Jellyfish describe the marketing manipulation that companies use to sell their subpar products to consumers and the effect the constant consumption has on someone's lifestyle. While Empire Ants describes the feeling of being a factory worker making said products. Feeling like you are just cog part of a bigger machine that can be replaced. Especially in Asia where workers are taken advantage of since they don't have much choice. Just what I think of whenever I listen to this song.
@@dekugh64 I hope you know that their marketing team is completely different from the band. The fans complaining would be like people complaining to the McDonald's twitter about the slaughtered animals. They're completely different.
This album has few great transitions between songs. Funny that this is only getting noticed now. Demon Days does this a few times as well. Just goes to show how much thought is not only put into the songs, but the album as a whole.
It's what separates a good album from a great album; something I think Damon and co haven't quite captured on the works since Plastic Beach imo. Song Machine Vol. 1 has some great songs on it, but as an album, it doesn't have those conceptual and aesthetic threads tying it all together. Humanz and The Now Now before that just don't have the same quality of songs
@C PD I think the main problem with humanz is just that there were too many extra tracks on it. Its not that the songs were bad, but since the album had like 20+ listings on it (some of them being atmospheric filler), it just became too hard to keep track of. Sorta like having too much of a good thing. It mightve also been a bit too collab heavy, but I also appreciate the fact that other artists get to contribute and leave their mark.
My favorite transition is between the last three songs of the album. To binge is a couple arguing and close to breaking up at the beach as the song travels through towards the ocean to the cloud of unknowing. Past this cloud is a little dinky boat with pirate jet
I just introduced supper fast jellyfish to one of my friends, and now I think it's one of their favorite song she also loved the transition she had never heard of super fast jellyfish or the BEST TRANSITION EVER🔥😩👌
This transition feels like my feelings or personality like how I am funny and crazy one minute and then clam and vibing Edit: just realized I put clam instead of calm... LOL
1:21 makes me wonder if this album is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth and/or in a future ravaged by consumerism. I've always kind of gotten that vibe from "Plastic Beach" , but this really helped solidify that hypothesis.
According to the lore it's written by Murdoc, who's a pretty twisted man. And the name plastic beach is because it mostly takes place on a trash island. But god this is a cool theory
Thought it read "Super fast jellyfish plus Empire ants minus Gorillaz". And I was really confused how you were gonna subtract the gorillaz from that equation and not get "=0"
There are two songs called "Superfast Jellyfish" and "Empire Ants" from Gorillaz on the Album called "Plastic Beach", the most curious thing of these two is that between they it's a transition to pass for the next song
Superfast Jellyfish: 😎
Empire ants: 😭
That is the complete and true reaction of someone who hear this video or the full album.

the night version of the album art is superior ✨✨

@@MrGanjie omg that would be everything

I dunno, the one of it at dawn is used as the album cover for a reason
I love how my two favorite songs from plastic beach are RIGHT next eachother
True that
And they transition into each other
The transition into empire ants makes the whole song 💗 love the contrast in feelings between the two
The transition gives the feeling of some sort of tripping sequence high into a hangover as the hit of some drug dies down and leaves you empty.
I’ve aids
“They were fake, don’t worry man, we ain’t like them”
I think that’s what gorillaz aims to do. Make it seem we took drugs but it’s just our own feelings and chemicals flowing with the music
Basically, the friday 13th music video
