gunpower shot exactly where his heart was. thats precise asf
@@jimmyreece5781 *precise
Precise is a synonym of accurate. Learn before you correct.
@@brandan5708 I mean, technically speaking, they are slightly different, but in everyday use it doesn’t matter.
Ironically, this makes it look like Homelander did it.
@@user-rl2rw3tp6s but to the general public he is the only one known to have them, so far. Therefore the implication that Zack makes is correct.
@@andytay5507 Have you forgot the compound V roided baby that Butcher used
@@TheTurkishLegends Yes and no. I only watch clips so I hadn't seen that.
“It don’t change what you are”
This line gives us a glimpse of a comic-accurate Butcher and his hatred towards supes.
@@PortableUruguay i think so, he hates supes in general. thats why he and starlight have a back and forth relationship, even had her in his crosshairs at one point but decided not to pull the trigger bc of hughie
Butcher with Homelanders powers is WAY more scary.
@@thestain2698 scarier is a superlative whilst more can be used as well, nothing incorrect about it
Giving an average person Compound V makes them incredibly strong. So I love how this scene shows that when someone like Butcher gets it, he pretty much becomes another Homelander. Although he’s probably still weaker than him since this is Temporary V.
Love that if you rank ordered every human on the planet that the supes wouldn't want to have powers, Butcher would be at the very top. He ends up getting powers that allow him to easily overpower other powerful, well trained supes like Gunpowder. Ha
I don’t think gunpowder is well trained, remember the flashback scene?
When you realise Billy butcher is ex sas and with compound v giving him superpowers is like well trained home lander
@@gimzod76His dad said that Butcher escaped from home to join SAS.
@@DvornyashkaDiaries yes he did in episode 7 it shows him leaving his brother
In the comics he’s an ex-member of the Royal Marines. In the series he’s ex-SAS.
The scene when he leaves to join the SAS does not makes a lot of sense though. People don’t just join the SAS - they have to apply for it after already joining the military, passing their training and serving in their chosen regiment/unit up to a certain amount of time.
@@sadaasdafa8635 maybe he went to the army first, then passed the SAS trials later.
Its very possible that his Dad simply wasn't being precise when he said Billy went off to join the SAS
All of the supes in this series have advanced strength, generally around the same level, all are bulletproof and whatever, pop claw was squatting like 9 plates for reps and they said this season the max bench is 5 tons I think? So there’s a lot of variance but butcher is obviously on the high end for strength, gunpowder wasn’t even close.
In season 2 there was a lot of talk in the episodes with the hospital. Lamplighter said they were turning compound V to give solid powers every time and that the people there were just test subjects. The point of this version of compound V is to give reliable solid powers.
It helps that butcher as combat experience that allows him to have a upper hand against reckless superhero’s.
Yeah in the comics and the show supes vary wildly in strength, a person like Homelander being far above almost any other supe, whereas some are just humans with powers like Mesmer
In the comics Butcher also takes V he doesn’t get powers but he does get Super strength and durability like here, it’s stated that he’s on the higher end of Supes, still would get destroyed by homelander and most of the 7 but able to outfight almost any other supe with exceptions like Stormfront
So did Butcher pretest his superpowers before facing Gunpowder? Because it would be very awkward if bulletproof wasn't one of them.
We saw his cut on his cheek was already healed, even if he didn't know he had bulletproof skin he probably assumed he had similar powers to Kimiko
I kinda like the idea that whatever power V gives you is the kind of power you want deep down. For Hughie, it's having the ability to get people he cares about to safety. For Butcher, it's having Homelander's powers.
@@user-oy1cg3mr2x yup. In gen v Andre got the same powers that his dad did. Also Ryan, obviously.
I love how in the show both butcher and homelander make it look like using the laser eyes isn’t effortless. It takes effort and is even a little bit painful. It’s a cool detail that gives the show a realistic take on superheros
I think at first it takes quite a bit of effort and it's quite painful having all that heat and energy coming out of your eyes but after using it a few times you get used to it and it starts to be quite easy to use.
I mean, Superman in recent DC movies also has impact behind his heat vision. Even more so, even

Butcher Vs Homelander is gonna be f**kin DIABOLICAL
Homelander loses miserably Because Butcher have the brawler style meanwhile Homelander is laser pointer spammer
@@joenaomeke2700 IIRC Butcher was an ex-SAS soldier. They are known for being bonafide badasses.
I still love this series, but find it ironic Billy seems to have gotten the exact same powers as Homelander
Don't know if ironic is the word for it....
Maybe it has something to do with personality, Homelander and Butcher are polar opposites but very similar at the same time.
1:03 "standing here I realize"
I have the power to break you chain because of my NANOMACHINES SON
(they harden in response to physical trauma, you can't hurt me Jack)
I could break your quotes in two, with my bare hands !
Butcher having Homelander's powers is a great way of showing that when you obsess over someone you hate so much, eventually you become like them.
Very much reminded me of Zod getting his powers once he landed on Earth for the first time against Kal El in MOS.
Butcher vs. A member of the Boondock Saints so awesome. His powers starting to manifest as he fought Gunpowder so crazy. What I loved about Butcher was the scene at his apartment watching the lego video Ryan made paying tribute to his mom. In that moment you can tell Butcher really that spark of light, that moment of normalcy. That was a beautiful gift Becca's son gave to Billy Butcher.
That's where I recognise him from! Funny how that Reedus is a household name and no-one knows this guy.
Butcher without the V was scary enough.
Rewatching this after episode 7, that line "I didn't see it happen" makes so much more sense now.
Care to elaborate? I cant remember what the relevance is. Did he mean he wasnt there for the betrayal but still knew it was happening?
@@ysammo214 I'm pretty sure Noir said to Stan that everyone but gunpowder went along with the betrayal in the cartoon version of Noir's flashback
The guy who plays Gunpowder could play a perfect Frank Woods.
@@quantommy bruh I thought I was the only one, glad to see others think that too
The way he just ragdolls when getting shot is just too funny to me
Now he's a real super villain with powers
The moment every Boys fan has been waiting for since the first season. Hopefully, they will continue this story in Season 4!
It looks like they really sliced that car in half for the shot at the end. Love when they do practical effects like that.
His left eye is called "Des" and his right eye is called "Troy". - Skurge the Butcher
The true victim here was that poor Challenger
I liked the explanation somebody gave that compound V gives the power based on the person itself and is not a random power up nor is it interchangeable, is like an stats based power up (which is true now that they have shown them use it twice and get the same ability), So Butcher getting similar powers to Homelander shows that the only thing he seeks is revenge and needs to be equal to him to beat him while somebody like M.M could possibly get something similar but also a medicinal related power because of his background and nature, Hughie makes sense having teletransportation powers since through all the series hes done the most infiltration while also tryng to run away from everything
i’m very upset that neither of them claimed that they were the law
I feel so bad for gunpowder 😭
Butcher has some 'Cyclops lost his ruby goggles' issues with his eye beams
What's Gunpowder's superpower anyway? 100% precision with those guns?
yeah essentially thats his draw (no pun) but its safe to say he does have a modest level of durability given how much of a beat down he took off of a suped up butcher plus his precision aim might be a power, something in his brain that allows for fast and very accurate calculations
"Why are you protecting Soulja boy"
The captions don't lie
I hope Sean Patrick Flanery will one day make Boondock Saints III. I'm glad that he was able to draw attention to himself again with a small role in The Boys.
I’m very curious to find out how far they’ve actually gotten with the experimental serum. Like, was what Butcher took supposed to give those specific powers, or was it random?
It was a strain that maeve gave to him (i think it was maeve if i remember)
Maeve gave him 3 vials of the Temp V and Hughie used one to get teleportation as his power so it seems to be unique effects for each person
Butcher is so badass with his powers
Is really poetic Butcher developed Homelander's signature go to power, kinda representing that both of them are actually the same
Where’s Omni Man when you need him
Omniman is back in his own universe after feeding Homelander his own heart ----
bro the subtitles in the beginning say “why are you protecting soulja boy” 💀
1:03
“standing here, i realize that your just like me trying to make history”
Btw, if you think about it, the actor probably looked super funny with his eyes open without lads CGi
When you become the thing you hated the most
That's diabolical
Go Super Butcher Go!
I like that his eye laser is orange
I have no idea why but Butcher's lazer eyes seem to be kind of hurting him too? Maybe he's just not very used to them that's why I feel like that.
You gotta remember this is a different version of compound V with a different success rate and different lasting effects
This scene was badass lol temp V was such a great addition to the show
the thing about temp v is that it doesnt change who you are, but infects your brain regardless, temp v gives powers to people based on their personality, butchers so filled up with revenge against homelander that the v gave him the abilities of him, hughie got the ability to teleport, most of the time he feels trapped and just wants to leave.
Imagine the poor man who found his car cut in half
I like that sound of beating
His power comes from trauma. Just like Homelander. Homelander looked up to solider boy. Similarly Butcher looks up to Homelander. Not the same way. But the same way. V formula amplifies these trauma/emotion/need. The need to be powerful.
Funny how similar Butch and Homelanders powers are when compound V is in them.
0:47 that man is strong too, to keep deagle in his hands and let it break xd
I love the shade of orange his lasers are
Butcher : "Why are you protecting Soldier Boy?"
The subtitles : "Why are you protecting Soulja Boy?"
This is the moment butcher became heisenlander
Idk why, but I like the way laser beams in this universe doesn't instantly cauterize the injury
He's becoming general sod with the orange lasers and all
it's interesting how everyone gets a different power according to their nature. people like homelander, soldier boy, butcher get superior ones while hughie gets a power to just get away from situations just like he always wants to get away from his problems.
What
He never wants to get away from his problems
There are like 6 scenes in the first season just about how much his father wants him to let the past in the past and do nothing, but Hughie didn't like that idea
@@anshumansharma4566 Shut up dude, you can't comment something and not expect someone to comment back

Yeah buddy. As if he'd give you a second chance when you shot him 3 times in the chest.
How did the alarm not go off on that challenger?
I love how Gunpowder is based on Judge Dredd and he’s getting beat up by the real Dredd
What a coincidence he got the same powers as homelander
Butcher wasn't a whole lot stronger, and didn't use his laser vision until after he won... But he had the experience from fighting people as strong as him, knew where to get hit and hit in return.
1:06 Karl's face
Rip cameraman for that last laser scene 😢
Butcher's heat vision is so badass
just like General Zod's from man of steel
The one who hates the sup so much finally becomes one
I hope in season 4 Butcher uses Compound V (blue) and get permanent powers instead
I haven't gotten to season 3 yet. But from what I've seen, it seems that when Butcher takes the temporary V he gets only two of the powers that Homelander has.
Resistance to any damage (supposedly)
And laser eyes.
But he can't fly, he can't see through walls and he doesn't have enhanced hearing.
[Add the power to fly, and you unlock Homebutcher skin in the game!]
In this scene, Butcher became similar as the two men he hates the most : Homelander and his father.
1:04 that could have being a strong meme potential of “standing here I realise” if it punch him longer
"Mr. Powder" 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely diabolical.
I loved how painful they made heat vision for someone using it for the first time
How unpredictable and very high recoil? For lack of a better word
Like its a high strain if you're not used to it
I have a feeling this William fella might have a bit of an anger issue, I sure do hope he manages to work through it with the help of friends and family, maybe a wife or brother!
Buther looks so badass,I love him
Sign me up if compound V ever becomes a thing xD
The CC spells it Soulja boy and not soldier boy 🤣🤣🤣
Supes really should train with each other more often. They can't take a punch at all.
Another wasted character first was Lamplighter and now Gunpowder.
Bullets didn’t work. But maybe my hands will!
Butcher is absolutely terrifying with Homelander's powers.
What superpower would you love to have?
I guess the basics. You know, super strength, endurance, and being bulletproof.
Butcher's he is the real og
i would have the basics like trase said but then additionally i would choose invisibility or teleport
The basics for me, super strength, super speed, the ability to fly, being bulletproof, heat vision, super hearing, etc. But I would also add the ability to read / control minds, read body language, the ability to control / stop time and also travel through time by singing and dancing to different genres of songs and music, wall through wall, super sonic scream, the ability to shapeshift myself and other people by using our reflections in the mirror (or maybe just switch bodies, to make things easier for the both of us) and the ability to juggling. That’s it, that’s all I want to try and do as a superhero, supervillain or antihero! ☕️
The power that when you flip someone off it creates a huge shockwave
