Leaf blower works great. Gets where you cannot get your tool or a broom. Stiff bristle broom for stubborn stuff. Wear a mask and use a big fan in the doorway if dust is an issue.
dust!! Not blowing up and stiring up dust all over the place in the shop my brotha...that's the deal...even the broom is horrible with dust...this is the solution
It does kick up a serious mess of dust, but if you place a big shop fan in the door pointing out and open a side or back door the draft pulls it out. Plus you can blow off vertical surfaces, walls other elements a sweeper can’t . Plus it does a he11 of a job quickly. I’ll never push a sweeper again if I can avoid it.
Agree, leaf blower is way better. Clean the floor, blow off the walls, equipment, etc....
I have a large machine shed with a concrete floor. Tried the old leaf blower technique with the barn fan blowing it out the door. Instant regret! Thick coating of dust all over all the machinery plus’s breathing in all that crap. You’re on the right track with the push sweeper.
best no nonsense review
I think an awesome addition would be to add a magnetic strip to the back of it to pick up your misc screws and nails.
You could put a magnet on the front of it that a lot of vacuum cleaners have. That would pick up the screws and washers!
I have one for my shop and what a great tool. I added a magnet to the back of it for picking up nuts and bolts
Your floor already looks spotless, lol!
Mount a magnet on the front handle between the round brushes to capture the bolts. nuts and washers.
Reminds me of those little "Popper" toys we pushed around as kids.
lol...I had one and I loved it!! My dad may still have it lol
I just ordered one
awesome! I'm still using mine every day!! FYI...it doesn't like large nuts, bolts or gravel
You always have a good videos can’t name a bad video out there
Thanks for sharing looks like it did a pretty good job
Yay I love when you post. Good energy!!
Wouldn't mind having one those it done pretty good I would say a good strong magnet in between those bristles would be awesome for picking up screws
Love the variety of content on the channel. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
We have one and love it. Use it for sweeping up sawdust and dirt brought in by vehicles. We Use a cheap magnetic sweeper from Harbor Freight when grinding bolts off or cutting hardware cloth. Amazed by how much metal slivers it picks up. Don’t want our dogs walking on that.
Back pack leaf blower works 👍 I haven’t swept my garage for years, does the job in a fraction of the time
dust buddy!! I don't want to waft up dust in every corner of the shop and all over everywhere
Exactly that’s the lazy way
I have one and it's fantastic. Way better than the Ryobi one that I returned.
ryobi hasn't performed well for me in the past
Attach some magnets to it Worth a try 👍
Hey Josh! That floor sweeper is a step in the right direction! Certainly a time saver that does a good job! Now some bright bulb needs to take this concept and combine it with an electric battery powered, self-propelled, ""roomba", so you don't have to be the "self" behind... propelling it! But until that happens, I wonder if you could attach a heavy duty magnet to pick up any nails, screws, washers, etc.?!
it's been done and it cost over $1000
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Story of my life! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Maybe at some point in the future you can latch on to one!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer buy one of them magnetic bar with wheel and take the handle off and put it on the back of the sweeper.
Just went and googled it Ace Hardware has one with out wheels that bolts on for about $27.00
@@dancrafton89 Yeah, I have a super magnet that I’d attach to the bottom or front.
Janitorial work to the next level
Nothing better then Kaercher when it’s come to cleaning
Good luck to find an equal American product.
We got one of these for our demo company. You could imagine all the stuff we might come across and sweep up day after day. One huge upgrade we made to it was we attached a shop vac motor to the top. 5hp ridgid motor and a bigger filter to let the air out. Thing is a monster and saves us hours on jobs. Made the company a lot more efficient.
Attach a bar magnet(s) to the sweeper's rear. The magnet should be strong enough for picking up minor iron items.
Bought the $300 dollar model and it is amazing especially for our larger shop. Doesn't like corners but on the straight sections its amazing. Doesn't stir up a lot of dust either.
An industrial type of Rumba would be fun !
Be nice if it had a magnetic pick up on the front of it for bolts screws and other metallic objects.
Awesome sweeper
Add magnet strip
I bought one of those, around $300 in Australia, works well for the price.
Thats cool, maybe attach a small magnet to the back to grab small screws and washers. That would save time
Didn’t realize they made such a thing. HF tool holder magnet attached towards bottom will solve the screws and washers problem.
Morning josh the brush hairs are to soft if they where stiffer they would pick up neally everything but still a good tool to use i would say its worth the money.
Attach a magnet to the sweeper to pick up the screws and washers!
Great video Josh 🇺🇲 WOOOOOO 🇺🇲 another great tool Tuesday
It's kind of hilarious how many feels the need to create yet another thread about adding a magnet strip to pick up screws nails and whatever magnetic materials. A couple I can understand but by the twentieth I have to wonder if they even looked if someone else had posted just that.
Then there the "Just use a leaf blower dude. Much faster!" crowd. I have a vivid memory of it being said early on in the video that one of the goals were to be able to clean the shop without kicking up clouds of dust, something the leaf blower is pretty good at. Kicking up dust that is, which was exactly what was not desirable. And again there's not one, not two but more like twenty to thirty threads started about this.
Heck if dust wasn't an issue there's better solutions than a leaf blower. But as it IS an issue then so are almost all mechanized solutions that are somewhat affordable.
Having said all of this I have to say I'm surprised that a Kärcher turns out to be the cheapest flor sweeper on Amazon. Usually Kärcher doesn't really touch the cheap ass market.
Josh, go ahead & get that big work table made so you can get off the hood of that truck!
I've used one of those a while ago. I thought that it kicked up more dust than that. I don't think it had a seal on it though. That one looks a lot better.
You won't go far wrong with a Kärcher product. My only gripe with them is that the wheels are a little bit too plasticky for my liking. I am very pleasantly surprised at how well it picked up dust etc at very slow speeds! That is a good purchase for sure.
yep...it's a "entry level" floor sweeper for sure...but man what a time saver!
That's a rad shop
thanks buddy
I remember shop class, where they had vacuum tubes all over the place, and you would sweep all the dust into the tubes! It was awesome.... but this looks just as cool, in a different way. I hate push brooms!! LOL Nice video Josh! -- J.Andre.
I love my Roomba. 😅
A magnet strip on the front and it'll pick up the screws & washers & what not.
Mod that bugger with a magnet bar on the back. That will pick up those screws and bolts. :)
They make a broom version based on the I robot totally independent
yep....over $500 bucks...not ready for that yet lol
You a smart man , see if you can incorporate a nail magnet on that dude for those pesky screw that don't want to play fair lol .
Kärcher is a pretty good manufacturer Haga makes really good ones as well. Need to go faster to pick up heavier items
That looked like it worked pretty good! For my little two car garage I use a cordless leaf blower and magnet broom. The magnet picks up nails and screws which I worry about more than dirt. Now what I was thinking if I got that floor sweeper attach the magnet to the sweeper and kill two birds with one stone. Just an idea.
Very cool tool Josh! Ordering one for my mini compaired to yours shop! Wooooo!
Just saw they went on sale!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Woops, might have ordered to quickly! Lol. Thanks again for sharing Josh!
A bar magnet AFTER the back wheels would probably be better - debris may hold scrap down, but would be cleared off after the brushes. Looks good!
Actually seems to work better than I expected and there’s not really a wide head vacuum available either. That really needs a line of magnets screwed underneath though, that’s the whole point of a shop vac, getting rid of nails before they end up in a tyre. I’ll stick with my vac and wet mop though as I like a super clean space. Should work out great for your size of building though
We had a large commercial one that was push and it would pick up basically anything it ran over but was really expensive
We use an old roomba
Hi Josh, Looks like i would have use for one of those in my basement where I have the wood burning stove...moving the wood in the basement you can generate a lot of dust using a broom. Suggestion, add a magnetic tool holder strip on the back from Harbor Freight to pick up the screws and washers you miss...God Bless...Chief..{NYS/ADK}
Just Mcgroober an 11 inch bar magnet you can get at harbor freight for about $6. On the rear of the sweeper
Great tool for a least favorite task...thanks for sharing! Would be good to see a report on how easy new brushes are to obtain and install...! Inevitable on replacing the wear items because if that sweeper works as well as shown, it will get used a ton for sure.
Hey it would help if Karcher put a magnet toward the back of the machine.
Hi..... Josh nice to see you love watching your videos, thank you for showing your video homestead chickens duck farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐣🐥🐕🐈🐐🐄🐖🐝🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
Add a floor magnet to the front of that thing. Done.
Only thing that would make it better would be attaching a floor magnet to the back to pick up screws.
Is there any way you could mount a magnet on that apparatus so it would pick up the metal bits while you sweet
sure could
Maybe you can get Robot Roomba to send you a Demo to see how it works in a large garage.
Hey Josh thank you for the video that floor sweeper is nice but for me if I ever needed to do what you did there I think that's I would just use the leave blower and when the dust gets in the air will you know what I would pick it up point it towards the air and blow it all away from me and then back on the floor but don't get me wrong that thing does a good job though I can see from the video
Would be interesting to attach a magnet to it for the screws and washers.
Haaga is a German company that makes very nice sweepers and they 31” version just over $700 on Amazon right now. I’m sure it is a better built machine but depending on how well your S4 is holding up, I’m not sure it is $500 better.
For the screw solution you could attach one of the magnet bars that are meant for picking up screws either in front or behind the broom and then it would get the screws and nails as well. Probably wouldn’t take much to make a little bracket for to mount the magnet bar or even just a couple of zip ties
You won't buy another broom again mate especially when you see how quick they are. Shed looks great too
10:00 pretty sure those are one of those invasive beetles that WILL bite and they hurt a lot.
I have one exactly like that one that I also purchased from Amazon. Worked good until the belts dry rotted and broke. Now I can't find replacement belts.
👍
To me it looks like if that thing was a foot wider with larger stiffer brushes on the front it might be worth something. The way is is it reminds me of a 18" wide lawn mower or something.
well...if it were much wider it might be combersome to push down isles and hallways my friend
Come on Josh, working with the sawmill can't be that hard. Check out "Lumber Capital Log Yard". 🤣🤣🤣JK. I'm sure you're not going to let these young ladies out work you on the sawmills (they've got several). Just pulling your chain today. Have a great day 😊.
Leaf blower
What if you put a magnet underneath for the screws and bolts
WooooooooooHeeeeeeeeeHeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!Alright!!!!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Hello Josh,
Is there a way to put a magnet inside or on the front of the sweeper?
Did you write and sign your own music on your channel
a billy goat vac
They're at $168 now. Says its a sale price. No way!
push broom that's quality cost $40....this will save you countless hours of labor...so it's well worth it...believe me!
Hi Josh
I have a question about the concrete ?
Did you use a concrete sealer on the surface ? Or could you recommend a sealer product ? Thank You Mike !
Not yet but I will seal it once doors are up
pretty dusty on unfinished concrete you will learn in time. I had the next one up.
A big exhaust fan will pay off in time, when the doors are closed especially for dust and fumes. You may want to use a mask
Better price then makita robot vacuum
yeah...that thing is like a grand!
How come you didn't put a sealer on the concrete floor? It helps with the concrete sweating in humid weather.
Vapor barrier under the concrete does that… however we are far from done my friend
I had a job a short time sweeping like a cave man. 80.000 sq ft
I'm more of a pressure washer fan-looks like an okay tool... But $150 eeek 😮
So it’s an outdoor vacuum.
it's a sweeper
That tool looks like a great idea with a price-point driven implementation. I think I'd sooner pay $250 for a more robust tool than $150 for a very plastic-y looking one. Some parts make sense to be made out of light weight plastic, like the dust collection bin - but the basic framework of the tool really should be made of metal. It is hard to tell without putting hands on it, but it looks like it might give up the ghost too soon and then $150 would be wasted.
don't matter what it looks like buddy...it gets the job done and it's affordable...it doesn't look at all like it's going to break....it did a great job...please stop looking for the bad in everything...it's a horrible way to live your life brotha
You probably have to go faster get enough force to kick the screw up into the bin.
Why you don,t use wind blower.much faster then this one.
Why don’t you clean your house with a leaf blower? Same concept here buddy
Idk the specific name...... But if you don't know that bug..... Learn it quick lol. We call those wood chippers up here in Maine..... They ssoposedly live in rotten old trees but they tend to think human flesh is compatible!!!!! Garunteed 1/8 in bite mark about compatible to a German shepherd bite force!!!. Not friendly bugs!!
I thought it was automatic:((
Doesnt seem fit to The job, I saw it in other channel vs broom and just win for very few seconds.
If you jeep it attach a speaker magnet under it to pick UP screws, and small metal stuff
Works great it sure how ya see anything else
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer saw it directly from karcher publicity 😅
🙄
Yes me too I hate people who do these stupid unboxing video's , thanks for not doing one
Time for some redneck ingenuity. Mount the magnet on the back. Kills two birds with one stone. And the sweeper clean the debris out the way of the magnet. Genius!!
