My New Wave Toys Replicade Arcade Collection continues to grow! How about yours? Let me know what you think of the Atari Food Fight Arcade below!
Imagine how happy we would all be if A1up even did things half as well as New Wave Toys?
My unit arrives Monday. I loved playing Food Fight in the arcade in the 80's and New wave toys has done this underrated game proud.
Charley Chuck approves.
There would be so much less drama for sure
You absolutely won't be disappointed, Monday can't come soon enough for you 👍👍.
While I agree many of Arcade 1ups problems today are brought on by their own lack of quality control, the original complaints on them were truly nitpicks from a nearly impossible to please retro community. Honestly I don’t even know why companies get in to this area of business with how toxic the fan base is. 2nd only to Star Wars fans.
The chewed gum stickers are hilarious. NWT never misses. This might be their best one yet.
So gross and funny at the same time!
The kid in me snort laughed at the description of the joystick: “ya really gotta bend it to extreme angles to get it to respond…”. Ah, banana erotica…ugh, I’m immature lol.
Great review Dubs. Got mine yesterday and have to agree that it could be there besting looking one yet. Amazing how a company with passion for a product gets it right…a lesson for a certain “profit first” company.
Got 6 of these and counting!
Yeah man it was awkward recording that voice over lol
Every time PDubs gets a replicade from New Wave Toys I feel like I'm watching a Home Shopping Network infomercial. "We need you to talk about this paperclip for 22 minutes." -Management 🤣🤣🤣
I'll take that as a compliment 😉
@@PDubsArcadeLoft As well you should. HSN and QVC may be hiring if you need a backup gig! I was on New Wave Toys site yesterday at exactly 6:00 PM (Eastern time) to snag one of the Dragon's Lair Overhaul Edition replicades. Which was preceded earlier in the week by your review of the same. I swear I need a budget line item for New Wave Toys now.
Their best release so far. I actually like the CRT effect on this cab, it's way more convincing than the filter used on Missile Command 👍👍.
Appreciate the comment Rob!
Don't know about the game play, but this has to be one of the best looking cabs i've ever seen. I don't recall ever playing this game in the arcade.
She's a looker! It's a cheesy arcade game
Got mine just now. Love the screen filter (also see Missile Command). Really looks like a tiny CRT is in there. Outstanding. Played this in Massachusetts in 1991 in a summer job break room. I asked Replicade to make Marble Madness but had no idea they had Food Fight in process. Blew my mind they made this.
Marble madness could be fun
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I love their track balls which is why I asked for Marble Madness. *Fingers crossed*
Mine came today as well. I’m actually excited about the coke machines and Zoltar! These guys do it right.
Yay! New arcade toys 🤩 Love the deep dive here 🙏🏽
Thank you 🤗
Looks great. Arcade1up needs to do a food fight cab
Great review. Thank you. Got my Dragon's Lair and Food Fight this week.
One correction (2:37) and disappointment. The charging port is micro USB and not USB-C. This was a disappointing surprise since the Dragon's Lair that arrived earlier in the week had a USB-C charging port.
My chairs shipped today and will arrive next week.
Love your channel.
I bet Restalgia will go bananas for this cab.
Great video but holy cow. I'm still laughing from Restalgia in the background
Glad you enjoyed it, and I'm happy he took time out of his schedule to help me out
Got mine yesterday, one of the faster turnarounds for any of these cabs so far.
Yes sir! Less wait time!
The banana joystick was hard to play with. I also noticed a delay in pressing the throw button to when it happened on screen that I don't get when I play the stand up version. Still, it's a nice little unit! Now make a Robotron already!!!
Great review, as always. Bummer the Bananna wasn't more functional. It's larger than I thought. Had it been metal or made of hard material. smaller and screwable I think it would have worked just fine.
Nice review! 👍 I missed the pre-order on Food Fight are they going to have more like you said in your review?😬
They did but I believe they sold out. Might want to check ebay to get one at this point.
Hopefully they've finally figured out how to make a robust joystick. I've broken just about all of them, some within the first 30 minutes of use. Even on Q-bert the plastic broke off reveling the metal underneath. Come on guys! At the price of admission you're charging don't skimp on the most important part of the game. If you own these units or are considering them make sure to use an external USB plug in joystick, you can thank me later ;) Besides this the games are awesome and customer service is always top notch.
Stick on faux gum wads are hilarious I wonder if they are available full size xD
Lol ditto
Just got mine today. It has something thinking around inside - probably the battery pack? It plays fine so far. Also I was expecting mine to have the yellow trim along the edges, but mine is black. Anyone else?
Shouldn't have anything banging around inside, I would open a ticket with their customer service. I think there were 2 variants to choose from
I have no nostalgia for this arcade, but it really looks great!
It's adorable
Restalgia in the background, lol 😂
I'm glad he helped me out with a cameo
Was there ever a trackball version of this game? I feel like I played it with a trackball at one point where Chuck would keep moving in the direction you spin.
PDubs,
Yeah, I would've picked this one up if it wasn't so ugly... JUST KIDDING! What a looker! I'm waiting to get mine :)
RESTALGIA NANNERS!
vgv
That kid is bananas 🍌!
Need to stop playing with these little toys and give us the ridge racer mod videos 😝.
Lol working on it
Looks cool, but Micro-usb in 2023? It's ridiculous.
