Dad is quite the character the paper map with holes was amazing in a showing your age way LOL. He's a good bloke though, and it looks like he's good energy and inspiration for you Amy. Those bad thoughts only hold power if you give them power. All thoughts pass; you are the sky never changing behind any clouds/thoughts. They will always pass; all storms in life always come and go. Our minds are tricky buggers sometimes. Always looking for ways to cause chaos in some way if its fels it can. Its best trick is to pull you into the past that doesn't exist anymore or a totally unpredictable future which doesn't exit either. They are just thoughts nothing more. Love yourself and each and every moment of life as it comes. Our struggles sometimes are preparation for us to be more empathetic and helpful to others around us struggling in silence with no hope. So your honesty is helpful; don't be embarrassed to be your true authentic self ever.

I'm a paper map man. Just back from Sweden, first thing I did over there was to buy 2 maps, 50,000, series just like OS in the UK, to cover the area around Uppsala where I wanted to explore. Worked like a dream, no issues, was able to explore a network of minor and farm roads, without any reliance on electronics etc. Super area for the bike with a climate to match, temps in the 24/28C every day.

Nice to see you out with your Dad, I think he’s had his monies worth out of that paper map, I love going for a ride with my Dad, he’s 85 now, got him an electric bike last year he loves it. Many wise words spoken at the end of the video, you have lots of respectful riders follow you on your videos, keep them coming, & have fun.

Your Dad probably has a few of the old half inch to the mile Bartholomew cycling maps that were coloured . Also they did cloth backed ones for heavy usage .. yeah back then GPS was all about having a spring loaded front stem Map holder :)

It’s the Solar 1040 ☺️ (I was gifted it 🤯) but it’s great for long rides & lasts a good few days without needing charging 🙌
Love your Dad's independence his ability his crack on this is where you get that from can i ask how old your Dad is , never give up on the beans on toast they saved me so many times as a kid i would say i want beans on toast a mile high ,thanks for sharing your Dad to day paper map and all loved the video thanks.

Paper maps have their place. First lesson in map reading: learn how to properly refold an OS map on the top of the moors when it's blowing a hooley. 🙂
