    Hi Marty:
Regarding an ALL-O-MATIC SL100 (looks identical to the one on your video here):
Operator and gate were professionally installed and working previously for months, if not years. I had to work on the gate (mechanical repairs only, weld broken pickets, replace guide rollers, etc.) While I was getting ready to do so, the open gate suddenly started on it's own to close, with no input from anyone, no one anywhere near the controller, driveway path, or gate path. I didn't want to risk injury while working, so I shut off the power switch on the main board, and unplugged the controller/programming module from the 120 volt socket. After disconnecting the chain adjusters from the fully opened position gate at both ends, I was able to freely slide the gate along the entire length of the V-track with ease. After completing my work, I remounted the chain adjusters as previously. At no time was the chain and sprocket/idler pulleys or limit switches disturbed from their original position. After re--attaching and adjusting to the original positions (marked with paint before removal) now the gate does not respond to any control/programming module input as before. I downloaded the factory installation manual, but it provides o info regarding troubleshooting, LED codes, identifying, clearing, resetting, etc., and a call to the factory reveals that this is intentional... they do not want anyone working on their openers except their trained service personnel.
I can build computers and race engines... do you know of any way to obtain the necessary information to enable repairs?
    Thanks.

I have one of the older SL 100 gate openers. It has been working fine for many years. In the last week for the first time, the gate stopped opening. If I manually pull the gate open, the CLOSING operation works perfectly, meaning the remote, the board, the motor, etc.
Of course, I have taken off the cover and looked everything over, cleaned everything, etc. The remote operations, the open and close limit switches and the board all seem to be working just fine.
But for the OPEN GATE function, the motor just doesn't seem to be getting any power any more. It doesn't even try to open. So the board just keeps flashing open until I manually open it to the point that the CLOSE limit switch thinks the gate motor opened the gate correctly. From there, I can use the remote again and presto, the gate CLOSES perfectly and the electronics all work as usual.
So I know the motor is working to close the gate. I know basically that everything is functioning normally except that the motor does not engage to OPEN or even act like it is getting the power to open. Have you run across this before and is there a relay or something that might have burned out?
I looked over a diagram and it looks like there is a solenoid involved for the "OPEN" function which I don't see for the "CLOSE" function. So is it possible that might be related somehow?
Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello there how is it possible to program a genie remote to this particular gate opener if there is no learn button on the machine or motor of the gate opener or motherboard

Is there a manual for troubleshooting this thing? Our gate just stopped working and its basically stuck open. When we power it on, some of the circuit board lights come on, but when I press the "close" button, I can hear it make a sound for a second and then it stops and doesn't do anything. Then, after about 20 seconds the alarm goes off and it is loud! I have to turn it off or press the "reset" button to stop it. also, the keypad is beeping and has the yellow light on instead of green, so I'm not sure if the issue is the motor, the circuit board or the keypad and I can't find any troubleshooting manual anywhere online. Any help would be appreciated.

I just hit the button to open the slide gate by accident instead of the garage door. I quickly hit the button again and it paused the gate about 2 feet open. When I pressed the button to close it again, it didn't respond. The eye light is green and nothing is obstructing the gate but it's not responding when I try to close it. Any suggestions? The best I can think is there is a timer that doesn't allow it to shut again so quickly?

Hello how do I connect the gate opener to my universal remote? Is there a learn button on the allomatic?

No, you'll need to install a radio receiver compatible with your remotes.

Is the All-O-Matic SL-90 better than the Viking L-3? Thank you!

They're both great operators, it's hard to say which is better. The Viking might be alittle easier to install / program.

I had eagle-1000 FSC 1/2 hp slide gate operator- in the morning open half ways and buzz sounds come on and after that, no action respond.
    1. turn off power reset system board still the same,
    2. dis attach gate chain from the operator still buzzing. (no load)
call eagle tech support they said don't know and recommend to buy a new gate operator

Unfortunately, Eagle Tech Support is probably right, your circuit board is done. I've retrofitted lots of Eagles with their Diamond board, which I don't think you can get anymore. You can also retrofit it with an old style All-O-Matic board, be sure to get the mounting plate and wiring strip, you'll have to completely rewire all the connections to the new All-O-Matic board.
