Nexus guy: Let me teach you how this works in a calm and educational manner. Dr Mix: Let me play! Let me play!
Pearl Paisley without that enthusiasm this would just be a boring demo video.
@@bobafruti Agreed! 😊
Hahaha!
Dr. mix was staring the nexus guy with excitement like he was going to do the disco in any instant 😅
He’s responsible for a lot of hits records past the last Ten years and more to come
@Invictus_trax Depends on what producer, Nick Mira is more Omni/ElectraX focused but Metro Boomin and Ronny J are both big Nexus fans.
And that's why is it so expensive.
i wonder how much do these lazy ass mediocre new hip hop/trap so called producers pay for the official product.they basically rip this guy off
@@Hades-ot9tl lol no way. Rap is mainly omnisphere and sampling
he is responsible for polluted every nightclub.
Massive respect for Michael Hartmann! As a software developer myself, I can see how proud and passionate Michael is about the small (but very important) features like a wild card search! What a great man!
Small features are always important for any profession based on creativeness. Sound engineer, musician, software developer, painter and even a logistics engineer creating a kpi dashboard to facilitate analysing. I have huge respect for software developers, you guys make our dream come true in digital age.
Kudos for doing the trips and my hat's off to Manuel & Michael, v3 new features look great!
Really looking forward to hearing new music from you! 🔥
Holy shit . The legend !
Did you make Sandstorm with this VST??? Cause if you did ill buy it right here, right now
Holy shit the real Darude???
@@xFlyingFlip sandstorm was made way before the nexus existed.
Hey it's Darude, what's the name of that song you made again?
32:13 when the commodore 64 drops and u and the nexus programmer just have this insane superjam! This was fire 🔥
c++ and he is the only developer.. not even a team... wow.
Yep, very impressive thing. Freaking talented guy.
C and cpp is not hard to handle/code in if done correctly from the start. Anyway it's freaking awesome for just one guy to code the whole thing without a team. You also have to take into consideration that he worked on the 'Nexus' project for many years.
@@GaussianWonder It's not about what programming language is used, it is about indepth audio engineering skills he has, that is impressive.
@@georgilis8128 true. There is always some smartass to say that that its like easy. Like he said in video " people dont really whats the most difficult thing to create in new nexus". And that was presets , bookmarks etc.
@@GaussianWonder stfu please
Manuel Schleis. Legend. Very interesting to see and hear the man behind Nexus.
Also behind Cascada and Spencer & Hill (one of my favorite electrohouse duos).
True, first time I ever saw Manuel speak on camera, in English. And Mike, first time I ever saw him period! In 20 years of knowing them.
DrGrooveBeat yeah, sorry about that. We don’t like the limelight. But this was a fun experience 😀
maurize83
And Avenger 😉
@@michaelhartmann4088 something I've always wondered was there somewhat of collaboration between Manuel Schleis and Manuel Reuter with the designing of the sounds? Obviously Schleis is very talented at sound design but when certain presets showed up in Nexus I always wondered if they collaborated in some way to make them? Same goes for a lot of the Hands-Up presets and Vengeance sample packs.
32:24 - why you are the best Dr Mix.... not only getting to make a living doing this stuff.. but ENJOYING what you do... thx for putting a smile on my face this afternoon!
This synth has better asset management than Windblows 10. Kudos to Mike.
I love this guy's energy! He's like a big kid lol
Its called drugs
@@lokruth9769 This cocaine-saturated attitude when visiting the legend Manuel is really ugly. Sorry for Manuel. Seems sober in Canada, though.
@@MFASonic frankly, your are pathetic. You imagination does not suffice to the point, that one can just be motivated and powerful only by his attitude and charakter. For you everyone like this has to take drugs.
And he is real, he doesn't fake. he has a lot of energy and happiness, it's weird he is not a big CZcams star.
After 3 years of computer science study i wanted to say: Michael is a legend. Holy code 😍
I wonder how long it took for him to get to where he is now. As a developer, I have nothing but respect for this guy.
@@Nick..M Same here man
Why study computer science when you can simply benefit from the fruits of their labor and be a producer/ composer? Study music theory.. buy the science. Dr. Mix looks a lot happier than michael
@@robZzdaboss cause it's hard to earn money with musicproduction. We have so mamy producers out there.
As a programmer and a musician! I must say, Micheal’s session was just awesome!! Thank you!
Needs a whole hour just on its own!
Your reactions when playing the sounds are priceless.
Молодец, наши рядом. Не прекращай, прошу. Пётр
Thatt ls it, ats like
14:45 so they built this office with all cracked Nexus? Niiiiiice
33:28, that jam sounds so good and oldschool i can't even describe how much good. It was really fun 35 min video. Thanks and chapeau bas
for the effort you put into making all this trip and the whole video footage, to you Doctor Mix , and of course big hats off to the creators of Nexus, WOW! Definitely a HUGE thumb up and Subscribe.
ReFx is a model for all of the companies! This is how an update should look like!
The is the right additive of a company who appreciates the clients, giving more sounds every year and releases a new version that is perfectly backwards comparable
Doctor mix really having a blast, when he can actually play.
That makes me happy as well.
He is maybe not the best synth youtuber, but he is happiest.
Who is the best?
This is sincerely one of my favourite things to watch. The joy you both have for making music tickles me.
I wonder how hard it is to focus when Claudio starts slowly panning a camera around your face - 3:17
Not at all, it’s a point and shoot camera, I just have to hold it
@@Doctormix I think he meant for HIM to concentrate...lmao #djrtnyc
you are right, hahaha
you watch gis videos very deeply like you love dr. mix
Alter falter! Macht bitte einfach weiter. Wünsche euch nur das beste! :)
Maaaan the programmer of Nexus is a genius! Very hard work!
Doctror Mix, what a smiling and energy and Your effort to meet so important people @reFx❤️ this is my first movie watched from you but certainly not the last! congratulations! Good Job Man!💪
I love every single moments and words in this video, thank you
I'm really happy to see these amazing and talented people that were behind this project for all this time.. I would like to see if Spencer & Hill aka Manuel Reuter (as far I know) share with us an interview talking about using this synthetizer on their projects
man that's just TOO MANY possibilities. i found that this always constricts me because i just cannot decide anymore.
Wow - been watching this channel for 6 hours now, I wish I always felt how you look, Doctor! Lots of positivity and excitement is translated so well through your vids!
I get so excited when you geek out, Dr! Amazing synth, and that preset browser... Man, I need that for everything in my studio.
this showed me how nexus was actually meant to be used and it just changed how ill use Nexus forever
Haha that was so much fun to watch , I really like nexus!
Just so easy to use , but indeed a good search engine inside a vst is one of the main things that makes a vst a lot more user friendly.
Ive got a couple vst instruments that sound great but are horrible to find some presets in and that ends up using them a lot less.
Thnx for the video
Dr. Mix's enegry always inspires me. You are not only a great musican, but also a man inspiring with your energy
i have so much fun watching Doctor Mix having fun. always amazing
that was brilliant at the end, man i was smiling when they were playing , very funny but also cool
Dude your channel is so cool. You just have this like never ending enthusiasm. :)
21:00 That coding was absolutely phenomenal. I am in such awe of these two developers. Been using Nexus & Vengeance since 2012...
Vanguard since 2005
When i saw this video in my timeline i was like 😮 I immediately go to my account and bought Nexus 3. I was so happy to see an upgrade price! Thanks for this!
Great video from Dr Mix as usual. Nice to see the behind the scenes stuff.
I really hope the next upgrade will include support for multiple outputs!
Seeing just a small bit of Michael Klep's programming style and his workstation makes me wanna be a better programmer. Thay guy's a legend. He's already got a ton of excellent VSTis under his belt (The Bassline and QuadraSID to name just a couple).
I am 110% with him in his answer to the 'final final' question: we need to strive for quality, not quantity - the sad reality is that the IT industry has been polluted with 'agile methodologies' which preach the exact opposite and for mundane programmers (myself included) it's becoming an ever-increasing stream of demands to be delivered in ever-decreasing time-frames (namely, 'sprints') and with less and less regards to quality. Bottomline, being a programmer these days is a frustrating exercise, a real nightmare making a living like this.
Michael is a rare find, he can work alone and dictate his own pace, prioritize his workload as he sees fit and strive to deliver based on his own 'definition of done', not someone else's.
That is why as a programmer, I envy Michael. I wish one day I can get out of the 'agile' rat race and make my life work like that for me.
As a software developer myself, I'm very impressed by Michael Hartmann's work. Incredible amount of talent and knowledge is required for designing and implementing an app like Nexus, and on top of that he's alone. Maybe that's the key to his success? Absolutely amazing.
I thought Nexus is basicaloly just a glorified rompler. What's so innovative about that? Any soft synth that relies so heavily on samples isn't all that special imho.
@@Music-tg5is it does realtime synthesis ;-)
Alone?
As a musician and developer I found this video interesting in so many different ways. Thanks for the deep insight!!
Man, much much respect for the coder as well! I'm a coder myself (web design), but even this is above my head to be honest! I'm enjoying Nexus 3 and i will enjoy it much more after i see all this hard work putting into it!
probably this is the best video I've watched on CZcams this year, better than the ones created by Behringer or Sonicstate. Finally we get in touch with the men behind our (virtual) musical instruments. I hope to see more interviews like this. Also Synapse or Keilwert Audio programmers deserve an interview and I hope you will meet with Kevin Schroeder , the god of synth programming,
the face of Claudio at the jamming moments, must be a meme !
I need to give this video more likes!!! Great content, as always. Thanks a lot Claudio and congrats to Manuel and Michael for a great product!
Greatest vlog! Wonderful trip! Amazing job for Nexus' people. Thanks a lot!!
We see the guys who actually did the instrument. Awesome video.
My dream came true - I saw the real developer who is creating VSTi plugins in C++ =)
why?
@@BFHPET Most are done with one or more SDK's
@@bikesnbeerz i dont have a clue what it is?
Is there any plugin you miss in your productions? Some specific effect, modulation, synthesis you long for to have? I'm a professional developer since 20 years and going to dive into VST development now using JUCE (the same framework thats behind Nexus). But I'm lacking ideas... it should be something cool and it will be free
Does indeed seem to be using JUCE, though.
Thanks so much for taking your time and showing us some dope behind the scenes of a really dope plugin💯❤️
i have the exact same reaction as you to seeing and hearing all the new features!! lol freaking out right now and your excitement is so hype love the content keep it up and much love from Canada
Dude you a legend, to show how an app is done is rarely shown on youtube, very interesting
I have so much respect for everyone in the video. Even the couch is killing it just sitting there.
How i enjoyed this video, the max! I believe Dr. Mix and this mentors from Frankfurt and Vancouver makes many people happy. Keep up the good work, it inspires!
From one programmer to another, C++ is the way, no other way around it when you need real time processing! cool video!
9:20 "Here, let me just hit as many keys as possible and still get a badass drum section."
Thanks for all your work Claudio I love it you always put a smile on my face Thanks You!
Soooo much love to Claudio`s passion) I`m always inspired by his energy!)
Manuel Schleis you are legend
Kantik Bro ❤️
I loved when you played "At the Beach" preset at 11:55
Great video! So nice to see the team behind Nexus. Your SID tune in the end was awesome 🤗
Spoken like a real programmer! Also those are some of the best questions you could ask. Thank You!
What a great program, thanks my brother. greetings from the south of the world chile
If you know VANGUARD then you’re part of this from the beginning! 👌🏼
I still go back every now and then.
Just buy Lethal from lethal audio it’s a cheaper buy and sounds just as good
tubesurfer Still have Vanguard
Great to see the meetings with Manuel and Michael. Great and Informative Video and also love to see all the Star Wars Collectables. Yesterday I upgraded my Nexus 2 to Nexus 3 because of this video. I've had some broken files in the library (because an old HD with issues) and they were all repaired with the upgrade via the App, The Cloud App works great! Still have to discover all the goodies. Enjoying your videos BTW, keep up the good work!
I am so glad I saw this original review because people are giving some reviews and dont even scratch the surface. I am so glad of the advancements.
Very interesting to see and hear the man behind Nexus.
Sound aus Frankfurt :) Nexus und produzieren gehören unweigerlich zusammen. Fetten Respekt 🤙
So ein geiler Typ! :)
First...Happy Holidays from St. Louis! Love the content. Love the energy. Love what you do! Second...This looks great. I really like Nexus and this looks like an incredible update. Already bought and downloading the updated media. Thanks again!
This is is the coolest updated nexus ever! Producers will use this for every channel instrument !! Welldone guys :D
Génial !!’ Doctor mix ❤️💪
Cant wait to make a hit with just one note!
Fantastic video documentary!! I love the fact that you give music products we use everyday a more personal face. That’s a hell of an upgrade to v2. Axel Hartmann is a guru C++ programmer and sophisticated software engineer, I have a lot of respect for him. The insights shared are really interesting. Completely changed the way how I look at the Nexus product. Also fun for me to see Visual Studio Code and Azure(?) in a musical context.
Doctor Mix nice to see you having so much fun! 😁👍
Whatever with these comments against the look of the GUI. Just bought it. Pretty impressed... have learned a bit about sound design from the works of Manuel over the years. Nexus is moving in an awesome direction, and Manuel's plugins are some of the best. Like others have said... skins will eventually come, but this is an awesome upgrade from what Nexus2 was.
I should add, I'm working on a Macbook Pro Retina display and the last nexus versions (N1 and N2) looked terrible. For those using Retina display this is the first version that looks HD, and after navigating through N3 for the past couple hours, I'm loving the GUI. It's straight forward, and really shows you what the sounds are doing. Arpeggiator is awesome. Everyone has their opinions, but regardless, I would say people that have nexus 2 should upgrade. And big thanks to Michael Hartmann as well which I didn't say in my last post. Without people like him and Steve Duda, we wouldn't have these advances in music. Awesome stuff guys, and awesome vids Doctor Mix! Been following your videos since I saw your Daft Punk remakes.
@Stanky Danky honestly not sure. I'm guessing it's the same though. I no longer have nexus 2 to compare it to.
Hi can you tell us does Nexus 3 need AVX supported CPU ?
Igor Beuk no, SSE3 is enough.
Great insight into the interface and coding.
I really ought to watch the whole video before commenting. There is SO much I wanna say. Nexus 3 is immense, the playing is awesome and oh,,, everyone knows the rest.. what a fun product and fun video.. loved every second of it!!
I love this video!!!!!! I remember honestly the first time I really realized Nexus was a super weapon was through Avicii, no doubt about it!!! This seems really exciting, again, thank goodness!!! We have some really nice VST's out there to pick and choose from and its all thanks to guys like this!!!!! Thank You for all of your hard work my friends!!!
The 145 guys who disliked this video have no soul!
Basically a mellotron for the 21:st century, cool stuff! ❤️
One of the best videos on CZcams for 2019.
Omg first i'm interrest by Nexus, i love you when you play you're like children that's so cool to see a passionate man like you ;)
This is the Cardinal Sin of EDM (according to Deamau5)
Deadmau5 is trash.
I thought it was interesting that his primary monitors are simple Mackies from the old days! And that no-no egg crate style foam that everyone says does nothing and kills high end on the walls. On the other erecting choice of master keyboard with the Yamaha arranger! (Maybe there is s secret circuit in there that generates all Vengeance sounds? Haha!)
Very very nice doctor mix! Always enjoy your knowledge and immense enthusiasm.
Man! I really love your videos! Such a great player, nice person and really enthusiastic!
This is what a VST needs, easy navigating. I bought Nexus 2 and i barely used it because of the user interface. The presets were inspiring so I kept going back to it. but I will get uninspired because of the user interface. This is the best user interface in the market. Every synth company should change their browser interface and just call it the N3 browser 🤪🤪🤪
nah the old nexus 2 look much better this new nexus 3 is pure garbage
@@BFHPET
Nexus 2 is cleaner.
@Invictus_trax nah thats not true
Ok.
First thing: I love you Doctor Mix, cause you're the CZcamsr plugin community needs. I knew Manuel Schleiss and guys from reFX existed, they're really a bit of a legends in terms of plugin history. I love to see you show people like this in your videos.
Second thing: That bunch of Star Wars collectibles made me relate to both of the guys. That's so awesome! :)
But still ... I don't like Nexus. I don't think it's bad when people do like it and I'm happy for anyone who will be happy with N3 ... but I just don't like the idea of buying sounds. Eventhough they are superb. I like to learn how to make them. Some of the Nexus 2 patches (especially pianos and leads) got so over-used even non-producers started to identify them. That happens less if you attempt to create your own sounds. Just a personal prerence. But amazing video either way, thank you! :)
Aww thanks so much for the extensive snd heartfelt comment! Love you back ❤️
303, 909, 808, 707, 727, 606, 626. All used more than the average coin or road. I still like acid lines with 303/606/909 after all those tracks made! :-)
So much work in this synth! The interface looks nice, very simple and smart at the same time. I like how you can manipulate the layers and fx very quickly and visually. And of course, the sound is Amazing. 👍🏼
That was absolutely amazing. Thank you for that a lot!
This would change the game! 🔥
the passion is real!!
Awesome video. I love your enthusiasm for music tech. Definitely deserving of a like and subscription!!
This was one great video, love to see the team behind a great product….
I wanna hear a demo... standard procedure: download a trial version or skype the developer... scratch that.
Claudio's style: let's jump on a plane and meat the real people behind that in person! I like that!
'meating' the real people is bad, mmkay
@@wrmusic8736 Not if you sell those chops & burgers at a fair price ;)
Meat 🤣
There are so many things I wanna say...... oh man..... but I'm gonna make the story short...
Claudio, you're doing God's work! And this is not because of just this video.
You could just be another very good keyboard player and producer.... but no, you couldn't rest and you're doing so much more.
I'm not young anymore (not feeling old either) but you just refreshed my soul.
Thank you thank you thank you!🎹🙏❤💯🤘
@D & G Sound Love your heartfelt comment...more should do so...thx!
Awww that’s so sweet man! I love you back ❤️🤟💥🕺🙏 look, I am 47 and I know how it feels to become older... But you know what? Who cares !!!💥 Let’s make some music, let’s dance, let’s make love, let’s party and let’s celebrate life while we’re around 🙌❤️
