the chat u had about career anxiety is so so relatable, i was like thank gawd i'm not the only one who's been feeling like this 🤧 like 100% our livelihoods/wellbeing being so tied to our business is really daunting sometimes BUT ALSO LUV MY JOB AND THE LIFE IT ALLOWS ME TO HAVE which!!! i guess makes it something anxiety-inducing to think about losing too.
Packing pots is hell! Plastic stuff works but you're totally right, it's easy to get carried away. I should really make an updated version of my packaging video as I've now moved over to entirely paper/card packing materials and so far so good... although I miss the foam, that stuff protects the edges of pots like nothing else! I would LOVE to see that video! I’ve learned so much from your videos and that would be super helpful!! I had a friend who ships pots from overseas say plastic is essential for her since a lot of her paper based packaging just melts when the packages get rained on. So I’d love to see one of your videos since I know you ship internationally a lot!! And yes, that foam was so tempting! I've been shipping delicate items (including a large antique music box to Japan) for a couple of decades. I wrap a couple of times in bubble wrap (more bubble wrap depending on the value of the item I'm shipping) and if there is still room for the item to shift or bump in the box I used to use crumpled newspaper, now I use tissue paper or more bubble wrap since we rarely get newspapers anymore. NEVER FOAM PEANUTS. I HATE foam peanuts-so hard to dispose of and they cling to everything. Also, unless they are exposed to the elements, biodegradable peanuts will just end up in the trash where they will sit for a hundred years in the garbage piles. And people living in cities don't really have a place to leave their biodegradable garbage to allow it to degrade. It is suggested when planning the box to use, to use a box that has allows at least 2 inches of space around the object, BEFORE wrapping the object. And then just make sure the object you are shipping isn't able to bounce and bump around inside the box.

Aaah i totally recognise the part about your mood changing whenever your period is coming up. I have the exact same, I get the worst anxiety whenever I have my period and get angry over everything haha. Luckily I have the best partner ever who always helps me through and is sooo patient! :)

pretty late to the comment train, but you might not need to get bubble wrap first-hand! where i'm from (singapore) there's a ground-up organisation that collects and distributes packaging materials to small businesses (polymailers, bubble wrap, boxes), not sure if something similar exists in your state. the fact that you want to reduce plastic is great! but in the cases where it's unavoidable, reusing or sourcing for second-hand materials might be an option. wishing you all the best, and great video as always! 💗

I make pottery for a living and I use the corrugated roll and its amazing, anytime anything has broken its been USPS's fault for sure.....and instead of paying for those peanut things, you can use a shredder (12 sheets or more) to shred cardboard boxes (we don't have recycling in my area, and also reusing>recycling) and fill the box space with that. Its tighter than the peanuts too so I think it protects a little bettet!

Not to mention once you buy the shredder, its free, and you can shred literally any excess paper stuff that accumulates in your life

Love how your fur babies come running for meal time so do my Shepherd's. Right now I have 5 German Shepherds and 1 Pitbull. Soon we will be adopting 2 Shep puppies. I will need to train them like the others. For meal time they all go sit and wait in their areas.
This might be the weirdest topic to jump into but i experience variating symptoms with menstruation :') It's like a little lotto every few months. This year i added backpains to the list! I used to get REALLY angry like super frustrated/irritable on one day around my period (i was lucky to work alone bc i would've torn people to SHREDS lmao), now i usually have heightened anxiety etc

My woodworker dad ships out his items surrounded by balled up newspaper. Just get a subscription to a few and save up and you WILL have enough! Plus you're supporting the journalists who desperately need it haha. Plus free wrapping paper
Oh I should have mentioned that most of his stuff has a lot of glass too. He's never had an issue with this method, even internationally
