  • In this in-the-field episode of #TalkingTimepieces we watch the Rathaus #Glockenspiel #Clock in #Munich in action! The has a colorful animated display depicting the story of the marriage of Duke Wilhelm V to Renata of Lorraine in 1568, and the Schäfflerstanz, also known as the Cooper’s dance.
(Editor's note: I didn't know the exact history of this clock until I did my research for this writeup, so I apologize for my errors in the video.)

You put the wrong Thumbnail! Why is the Prauge Orloj on the Thumbnail if the Video is about Munich and It's clock?

I don't see the wrong thumbnail. Take a screenshot of what you see and send it to smartalix @ yahoo . com

    Really cool to see! 👌❤️
Would you have a rough idea as to when it was made?
From the figures it looks like 1700-1800?

Not really, The clock was added during the completion of the Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall) in 1908. (From Wikipedia)

@@TalkingTimepiecesYep, but the first play was a bit later. There are also multiple melodies that rotate monthly. And at 21:00 there is a different (much shorter) variant.
