- The media has a long history of underrating Africa and portraying the continent in a negative light, affecting the diverse people and cultures that call Africa home.
Hello, welcome back to the Channel.
In this video I want to show you a business district in Africa known for its bustling streets, and high-rise buildings, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Abidjan Plateau is home to several side streets and alleyways that are worth exploring. These streets are lined with vendors selling a wide variety of goods, including fresh produce, handmade crafts, and souvenirs.
But you don't see these scenes on TV.
While it is true that the continent faces its fair share of challenges, Africa is also home to incredible beauty, rich history, and vibrant modern lifestyle that is often overlooked.
Abidjan Plateau, is a vibrant business district located in the heart of Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire. One of the main attractions of Abidjan Plateau is its business streets, which are lined with various shops, restaurants, and offices. There are thousands more streets like this and more across the African continent. Wait till you see the other streets I am going to show you.
One of the main issues with Western media coverage of Africa is that it tends to focus on the negative aspects of the continent while ignoring its positive aspects. For example, media coverage of Africa often highlights poverty, famine, and disease, while neglecting to mention the progress being made in areas such as economic development, education, and healthcare. This creates a one-sided and inaccurate picture of the continent that perpetuates negative stereotypes and does a disservice to the people of Africa.
Abidjan, Abuja, Dakar, Accra are my favorite places in West Africa.
Hi there. As a DRC 🇨🇩 national who's very interested in knowing Africa as a whole, ABIDJAN (Côte d'Ivoire 🇨🇮) has always been my best West african city since the time of President Félix Houphouët BOIGNY and I know the majority of people from English-speaking countries talk more about Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Accra in Ghana 🇬🇭 but for me ABIDJAN comes on top. Especially these past 10 years ABIDJAN has insanely developed. Cocody, Plateau, Marcory, Treshville, ... Bravoooo, Côte d'Ivoire 🇨🇮👏👏👏, mes respects au Président ADO et à toute son équipe. 🔥🔥💖💖💖💖🙏🇨🇩🤝🇨🇮
I am a Young ivorian Man telling you that i really apreciate the way you talking about this country thanks so much and God bless .
@@inzadosso-rz3xb as a Nigerian🇳🇬 your country is fantastic that i can compare Abidjan to lagos, Nigeria
This DRC brother knows the truth then Dakar Senegal next the English speaking countries are hyped up Lagos is dirty and Accra has barely skyscrapers lol start respecting Francophones countries we do start speaking English now
@@guyhabone yh fr like anyways english is a global language
@guyhabone it is about quality of life. Rome doesnt have sky scrapper but it is more developed than abidjan, so what is ur point again. Just cause accra doesn't have sky scrappers doesnt mean it is ugly. The architecture in accra is more modern than the ivory coast
In my opinion Nigeria🇳🇬, ghana🇬🇭, and ivory coast🇨🇮 are the top best countries in west Africa
Add Senegal
I am hooked on these African documentaries. From what I've seen South Africa, Namibia, Rwanda, Morocco, Tunisia and Ivory Coast has the best infrastructures on the continent
Senegal
@@mjjaguar8854you forgot South Africa and Tanzania?
@@seydoutraore2867Too expensive.
The Ivory Coast is the best kept secret of Africa. I went there and was totally surprised of how nice this place is. I am surprised that more people do not go there or know about this country. If you are set on going to Ghana as a lot of people are, then I suggest that you also take the 25 min plane ride and check out the Ivory Coast.
Thank you
Thank❤
Natural beauty alongside modernity in abundance! Côte d'Ivoire is splendid 👌🏾
Hello from Massachusetts, I've seen lots of programming about the natural beauty of Africa in regards to eco tourism, but you're absolutely right that the media really doesn't spotlight the more developed areas. Your channel has been a real eye opener, we're going to be thinking about taking a trip there! 👍👍
West Africa countries are insanely beautiful
Thanks for showing my country to anglophone people✌✌
Hello from the ivorian community living in France!Thank you for this video

It is the policy of the west to underate Africa, so we remain imporvrished. But they will not succeed.
Nice city of Abidjan. Good job Mr Matthew. Plateau is on a high level.
Thank you Bro
watching from pakistn nice vedio.
My dad was born in this city ,Abidjan was always like that since the 60's but since it's a French speaking city nobody really knows about it's level of infrastructures development
That IS true. Abidjan has been Always as this since the sixties.
Which is why I say give cities like Accra or Abuja 10 years with their rapid development and see where they'll be at
@@nt3264Go check Dakar and Abidjan development rate now
@soumi1984 Currently, Ghana just cut sod for a smart city project in the Volta region and will begin shortly. Perfect way to decentralize away from our capital, which is what Ivory Coast has trouble doing

Thanks for showing this awesome and beautiful city of Côte d’Ivoire. Yep! Please say « Côte d’Ivoire » instead of « Ivory coast ». That’s what Our first president Felix Houphouet Bobigny wanted. Thanks for your documentary. Big up!
Thank you. Yes I will be saying Cote D'Ivoire on the French channel
It's Boigny 😂
👍
Would love to visit. How do they treat white Americans there?
Normal treatment. There are many Whites across the city and country. You are most likely to find a travel partner right from the airport.
In Africa we see human being. They about 200 000 white who live in this city, som have been there for almost centuries.
@@timcamer4702 thanks. Would love to visit someday. Looks like a beautiful continent!
😂😂😂😂😂😂 ne me faite pas rire 😂 venez et vous verrez. N'ayez pas peur
@Valentin Camara I guess Ghana and Ivory Coast are the same people, the same culture. Akwaaba to Ghana, akwaba en Côte D'Ivoire. Akans
How are you going to get loans and aid if they show beautiful areas? If you’re asking for help, you wanna look humble.
Abidjan only plateau is beautiful others sides are not beautiful
Do you go at marcory ? Cocody? Treichville? Koumassy?
@@Dave05J it is just jealous
Lol Macory > plateau. Abidjan: Macory, Plateau, Cocody, Koumassi, Treichville, Bingerville > your country
Which part is not beautiful?
