    I have a couple of scx24s and to add flex my fave thing to do is get multiple sets high clearance REAR links and Used those as front links for a longer wheelbase especially on the deadbolt currently running a C 10 rear link in the front and a deadbolt in the rear for maximum flex and Turns the deadbolt into an LCG crawler to where it almost never flips super cool build btw

    I would like to get a Deadbolt to build, they have a lot of potential. But then again you can pretty much modify any of the scx24's to whatever you want. Nice build on yours, looks very capable! Thanks for another great video Adam, take care!!!

      @CapeCrawlers  Před 2 lety +3

      Thank you! That’s one of the best things about the scx24: interchangeable parts. Swapping links, driveshafts, chassis, etc you can do exactly as you say and Frankenstein any type of build you want 👍🏻

    Have a box full of parts for my next build. It'll be based on the Deadbolt as well, and many of the parts you listed are in that box of stuff. Same MOFO axles, weights, wheels, etc. Although, I also have overdrive gears for the front, and a Furitek Micro/Lizard Pro combo. Have the same motor setup in my C10 and the torque/slooooowww crawl, and smoothness is vastly superior to the stock electronics. On that build I ditched the stock ESC/Receiver and am using a receiver for my Flysky GT5, with receiver and Lizard mounted on custom built boat sides, and battery moved up front. Been debating on ordering the C10 link set just to get the fronts for the Deadbolt. Now that I've seen yours, think I'll go ahead and place that order. Looking forward to this build, but I have a backlog of other RC projects that I've promised myself that I'd complete before starting new one... Probably shouldn't have clicked on this video then, huh? Haha!

    Another interesting video. Thanks for the deep dive into the Deadbolt. I just bought a new Deadbolt off Amazon for $99 to build a Warthog. I don’t have all the options on mine. Injora stamped steel wheels & the Mofo 050 Torque Beast motor. I have Jeep HC links on both ends. No shocks & limit straps in the front, stock shocks without springs in the rear. It’s crawling good but I think I’m going to add some unstrung weight & see what happens.

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  Před 2 lety +1

      What was the difference going to the Jeep links in the rear? I’ve got the JLU rear links lying around and have contemplated trying them, but it works so good right now I don’t want to mess with it

      I took the $99 Deadbolt & put it in a 3d printed Warthog chassis which was actually designed for the Jeep JLU. I didn’t like it with the Deadbolt links so I started playing around with different links. I’m designed & 3d printed them so the expense was minimal. I liked it best with with rear JLU links all the way around.

    Adam, it is Adam here. Can you give your your opinion on LGRP Super 8’s vs the RCAWD portals or any other manufacturer of portals. • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  Před rokem +2

      In full transparency, the only portals I have hands on experience with are the RCAWD units. The Super 8's are a straight axle design and I have not tried the LGRP portals. I love the RCAWD units, but the big C-hubs in the front do obstruct clearance. With options like Treal and LGRP out there now, you have more options than I did several months ago. With that said, I am not a fan of 3D printed housings like the LGRP, so my objective opinion is that the Treal portals are the best on the market right now. However, I prefer the RCAWD's from an aesthetic appearance point of view and I would probably still purchase them if I were to start over.
