Join me and Ashby as as we travel from Napton on the Hill to the Narrowboat capital of Braunston. We will be cruising on two canals in this episode: The Oxford and the Grand Union. From which we will see some of the most stunning countryside scenery on the cut! And I have filmed it in such a way so as you can feel that you are standing on the boat enjoying it with me! Beautiful scenery on this one Dad… I remember seeing Grampas Lady when we were travelling back down south haha… Braunston is one of my favourite places on the canal too that I’ve come across. It’s the best decision we both made getting a boat.. Couldn’t be happier & we couldn’t have done it without you! Once we’ve given her outside a good old clean, I’ll send you a video of her to share 😀Xxxx

Actually Vince, the stretch of canal between Napton Junction and Braunston Junction is part of the Oxford Canal, although some maps may show it as combined with the Grand Union. The Oxford Canal is older and commercial traffic would have travelled between The Midlands and London via Oxford and The Thames before the Grand Junction, latterly Grand Union, was constructed.

Hello Jeff. Won’t be down there for a few years yet mate. If I remember rightly, it doesn’t take much for the Stort to go into flood. Clare is around there. They was in Roydon marina for a while, they love it.All the best Vince
Had a similar issue with the fuel tank. Only way to deal with it properly is to cut the top out of the tank and clean it out properly. Certainly cleaning the fuel as a lot do is just a rip off as it doesn't clean out all the rubbish at the bottom of the tank, also you may find that the fuel pick up is too low and may need raising a little from the floor of the tank to help keep the fuel free flowing. We had ours done by Starline Boats Nuneaton and you couldn't see where they had been after the job was completed.. Very good crew did a fantastic job. So forget the fuel cleaners do it once and do it right.

Beautiful cruise Vince. I done this area on my very first narrowboat hire from Rugby. We cruised through Hillmorton locks and into Braunston. Then made our way to Napton on the hill. Loved it 👍 I’m very envious of you mate, I know it’s not always an easy life though and it wouldn’t suit my wife. Good luck to Claire and her fella on the Stort. Is she continuously cruising or have they got themselves into a marina?
That's a nice little area to cruise Paul for a holiday break! How did you get on with things to do off of the boat? As after Braunston going south, you start going into the wilderness.
