ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

Imagine how crazy a human being you would have to be.”
If Lena Headey didn’t get an Emmy for her Cersei Lannister role, then no one deserves an Emmy.
People overrate that episode too much. I love The Good Place. Janet is awesome. But that episode was more cringe-worthy than good it really is not a big deal she did not get nominated.
She's one of the best actresses currently working, honestly - but also, ask yourself how much the Emmys actually determine what we love and watch, or what lasts in the public memory. Most shows and performances and bits of writing that last don't necessarily get awards at the time, and that's not why most of us do it at the end of the day, we do it because we love it. If that episode gets D'Arcy more work in more things (and it should), that's reward enough.
I was more upset about William Jackson Harper. He REALLY shined this season, and Peeps in the Chili Pot was the greatest scene of the series thus far.

One of my questions is how was Doug Forcett still able to gain points even after he figured out the point system? Because he wasn’t doing good things out of the goodness of his heart but because he wanted to get into the good place.

YES
He hasn't figured it out completely even though he is very close. He also just thinks he knows, he has no idea it actually works almost exactly as he described. So he acts good because he thinks he should, it's still his own choice without actual confirmed knowledge of the Good Place.
He gained points but he won't gain enough to get to the Good Place because he is already too old. Unfortunately, because he is actively acting good for selfish reasons instead of altruism, it is impeding his point growth and is partly why he won't make it, the other part being the unknown negative consequences his attempted positive actions have on the world. It's just more examples presented as to why it's virtually impossible to get into the Good Place now.
He didn't know it for certain like our four did, right?
I think that's also part of the purpose of the show - to illustrate that a points-based system to quantify good and evil would be perverse and counter productive.

They talked about it in a special episode of the TGP podcast with Melissa, Dan Goor, and one other executive producer and they said that just from a plot perspective it's near impossible for them to work out a crossover
if they wanted it to happen they would have done so season 3
