From one Mom to another, planning a birthday party without hiring help is soooo difficult. You get on Pinterest and find inspiration but when you go to execute it doesn’t always come together as planned and it’s so disappointing when you have high expectations of yourself. You did an EXCELLENT job. Shoutout to Daisha for being such a supportive friend.

When I watched the other vlogs I was super impressed because it all looked so cool, it’s only when you pointed everything out that I noticed it looked a bit more “hand made” all in all though that was a pretty cool theme and the way everything got thrown together in such a short amount of time... i know i’m a day late and a dollar short but just watched this and i’m shook.
i totally feel raven. i over plan things all the time and complicate them unnecessarily and expect to get it all done just the way i wanted. i can relate this video on a whole other level.
I loved seeing this. Ziya is so blessed to have you guys in her life. When I saw the cake in Ziya’s party vlog I thought it was professionally decorated! It came out so cute. Just a tip for the future. Use gel food coloring. I learned this when I tried making cupcakes and the same thing happened with the icing melting. Liquid food coloring makes the icing watery and it doesn’t come out as bright as gel food coloring. You get brighter colors and have better control for the shade of the icing you want.

Great vlog. Next time, add a bit of shortening to the butter and powder sugar and it'll keep it from melting. Also use gel coloring versus liquid and the Colors will be vibrant. #Baker #CakeSupplyStoreOwner

1 cup shortening
2TB hot water- milk is an enzyme and will break the buttercream down
1-1½ tsp flavoring - I use creme bouquet so you'll get the "buttercream" flavor.
