Instant jealousy, because *you* looked perfectly un-fatigued and cute and *happy* while pregnant. I felt so jealous... I felt like a whale, was sad and angry, and so so so tired. Broke a limb, too. And then a day later I find out you felt just as shite... But social media all makes us feel isolated in our troubles because no one shows the ugly side of life.
Not at all a snark to you. It's just how it is. But it's another reminder (for me. Not preaching here) on how it might not be fake, but certainly not the entire truth what we see....

In 2019 I was dealing with a lot. It was a year of seclusion and growth. I needed to cut people out of my life to make room for better people, higher vibrational people and I am so tired of this year. It has weighed on my mind, body, and spirit. I hope 2020 has better things for people because with all of the despair in the world and negativity there is it will be too much to handle for a lot of people. Some people were predicting a stock market crash and another recession. I hope that doesn't happen. Best wishes to you in 2020, may your year bring you what you need.

I grew up being raised by my single father watching your videos. Your videos taught me how to do my hair for all the events in my life when I didn't have anyone else who could. I am so excited to continue to watch what you have in store and am glad you are feeling back to being in a good place in life!
I’m currently pregnant with my second child. My first pregnancy was like yours. Sick the entire time! With this one I was sick from week 8-12 but have felt great since. There is hope for a happy pregnancy after a rough one!
2019 was a horrible year for me too... Well, not all of it. Me and my husband moved to another country 5 years ago, far away from all of our family and friends. It started like shit as me and my husband that I've been with for the last 14 years almost went through a divorce due to lack of communication (only got married 2 years ago). Because of stress, money and work, we both turned so cold towards one another, there were days where we would look at each other and ask ourselves "How will we ever be together, we have grown together but at the same time we've grown apart, nothing seems right and it feels like we are strangers now" ... We tried so very hard to make it work, everything felt forced... Until we've decided to stop making it work and see where life will take us. And life took us to some beautiful trips together where we talked about our deepest fears and secrets, we were the most sincere we've ever been in over a decade. Months later, we've decided to give it one more shot and actually try for a baby (our first baby). We got pregnant and we've been the happiest we've ever been. I cannot even imagine how I thought I was happy before all this because what we have now is just magical. The beginning of 2019 was the worst year of my life for sure. But now, the end of it is one of the best! We have some of our family members that flew over the Winter Holidays to be with us, we are happy, healthy, wealthy and with a baby on the way!! :) ... Life takes interesting turns.
Don't worry about having another horrible pregnancy. My first pregnancy was like yours. I was so sick all day long even three days AFTER I gave birth! It was horrible. Second pregnancy I had morning sickness in the morning for the first trimester and then I was so much better! My mom's doctor told her pregnancy is like winter. It's always winter each year but it's never the same winter twice. I think you'll do much better your second time around. 💖💖💖
Not necessarily. I had hypermensis gravitarum with both of my pregnancies. Was in hospital twice a week to get fluids because I was so ill. Kate Middleton has the same conditions with all of her pregnancies as well. You are lucky your second pregnancy was better.

Congratulations on getting your life back and having a baby! About the negligency, obstetric violence happens more often than not, and you can sue doctors or anybody involved for this. I know the easiest is just trying to forget, but this type of violence needs to be addressed and actioned upon :(

I’m sorry you went through so much but happy to hear you’re enjoying mommy life. After watching your videos for years, I also became a mom then I stopped doing much for myself like I used to. Now that my kids are a little older, I feel like I’m learning how to manage it all better. I remembered how I used to watch your hair videos and was always inspired by them and so many ppl complimented my hair and even had ppl ask if I’d do their hair for them. Children are such a blessing, have made me a better person and made me stronger. I’m glad I can still look up your videos and learn fun hair techniques.

Beautiful soul. I freakin feel you! I wanted 4 kids but my pregnancy sounds exactly the same. So bad, that I only have the one. I'm just not willing to go thru that again. Not even if the odds are favourable. BUT from the moment he was born my son was exceptional. It was worth the trade. Never crying, no attitude...etc. Now 15 yrs later it's just he and I. He's still exceptional. And got the best attributes of both parents! Blessed. Stay strong. I'm glad you're healthy.

I have gone through depression with "all day sickness"through my pregnancy and at that time, life is a standstill and people around you sometimes do not understand you. Remember to always take care of yourself. Self care is important and Congratulations with your new bundle of joy. i'm so sorry! each of my three pregnancies were awful for different reasons. i could never understand how women enjoyed it. i can also understand your hardship with cancer. my 28 year old son was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma about this time last year. he is in remission, but it did some damage and will take a while to heal. so he can't work and is living with us with no income. so happy to know that your depression was mostly hormonal and that you are feeling so much better. depression is awful.

So proud of you for speaking up about your mental health. I had a very similar experience with my first pregnancy, all the same symptoms, only I had postpartum depression also. It felt like I was a completely different person and I would never be ME again. I decided to take the medication after giving birth, thankfully, I only had to take it for about 6 months. I will tell you that because of my first pregnancy, I NEVER wanted another baby... but God had another plan for me... my second daughter was born in 2004. That pregnancy was the complete opposite in every way. The entire pregnancy and birth were more than I could hope for. I just want you to know, no two pregnancies are the same. I respect your decisions as a mother, I just don’t want you to be afraid. I wish you all the love, light, and blessings in 2020!!

And don't worry, I also had the most rubbish 2019 my mother was extremely ill with toxic metal poisoning for a year, she is still on treatment, I lost my dream job, I got into really bad student debt which is as big as a mountain. I'm still single and alone and waiting for the new year to come. By the way LILITH I think pregnancy made your hair very healthy, I've heard pregnancy makes hair quite thick. Many women have a difficult time. Congratulations and we can't wait to see your lovely baby!! And I'm sure she is the most beautiful girl in the world since her mother is such a beautiful woman!!!

I am so sorry you had a hard pregnancy, so many women don't talk about having a difficult time being pregnant, because they think they are supposed to be so happy, and excited all the time. I decided to take anti depressants during my pregnancy because of the long history I have with depression, and it was the best choice I could have made for me, and my growing family. It is something that won't hurt my baby boy, and I plan on continuing to take this medication after I give birth. You are very strong to even talk to a doctor about what you went through, and it is wonderful that you didn't need to continue seeking treatment. I am so happy that you are better!!

So glad to hear that you are back. I was just thinking the other day why I haven’t seen and recent videos. Now, I know why. Your health and your family are far too important. You needed to be by their side. I however, found out that an uncle of mine has recently found out he has colon cancer. Stage four. He is in the hospital at the moment and I hope and pray to god that he makes it through it. As for you as a new mother, congratulations on your little bundle of joy! When I had my first child my pregnancy was not so great either. I was vomiting all the time and I was not feeling so happy and glowing like had seen women in my family and friends went through. Although, not every pregnancy is same. When I had my second child, it was not as bad as the first time around. So, right now I have a daughter and a son and that is all that I am sticking with since that was my dream of having so. They make me happy lol. As for your daughter you will definitely have fun playing with her hair lol. So glad to see you back and I cannot wait to see more of your upcoming videos.

My heart broke when you told us about the negligent medical mistakes that tainted what is supposed to be an empowering experience in a mother's life. I'm working towards becoming a labour and delivery nurse, and I hope I never let any mother down like your care team has.

On one side I also have dealt with cancer. My brother has been diagnosed with brain cancer and isnt doing very well. I'm just happy hes here today. I'm not sure whats going to happen but I also have been hit with breast vancer. They found two tumors while I was pregnant. Life is precious. Im so glad youre feeling better and going to be uploading some more! I had a baby two weeks ago. I named her ivy louise. She perfect! Being a mother is the greatest experience ever! Congratulations!!! 2020 will be the best year ever!

Hello dear Lillith. I have had antenatal depression too. Two times. It was hell. The kids are worth it, but.. well. I get what a hell it is and how much it sucks and the part about it vanishing after birth... So recognizable. Colors coming back, indeed! Just so you know, with pills it is much more manageable in case you will try another baby.

pregnancy and baby is always kind of lottery. But time flows and bad things vanish from the memory. I also had hard experience with my firstborn but now I have a second child. And it’s completely another experience. Cheer up!

I just saw this video! I used to watch your clips so often but when you were gone I stopped to look you up at some point. Sorry!! I was pregnant too in 2019 and I also experienced difficulties. I developed anxiety and also thought I cannot live like that. Birth was also traumatic and ended in c section 😕 good to hear I am not alone! I am of course much much better now and my baby boy is perfect.

I’m so sorry you had such a rough year- my sister had hyper emesis as well and was in and out of the hospital for it. 4 years later she’s still not sure she ever wants to risk feeling that miserable for another baby. I’m glad in the end your bundle of joy made you see the world beautiful again. :)

Sorry to hear about your relatives. I'm glad to hear your antenatal depression went away. I'm also glad you're talking about it. Turns out birth-related depression is the most common complication and I don't see almost anybody talking about it. I had a very hard time after my baby was born and fortunately I'm feeling fine after taking antidepressants. Congrats on your new baby!
I missed you! I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. I know exactly how that feels to be searching for some small happiness and not feeling anything. I'm glad you found a way out because it honestly does make time drag on. And the worst part is you can be so mean and condescending to yourself for feeling that way and tell yourself you are selfish for wasting time being depressed. The sad part is you tell yourself that's how your mind tries to fit in with others. You know you are isolated and just like how people judge you for it, you judge yourself. Trying to force yourself to be happy is so lonely because you are isolated even in your own mind against yourself. I know exactly how it feels to be searching for any spark of joy to hold onto and finding none. So I truely am glad you found a way out because you're right. It makes no sense to live like that. Good luck and best wishes for your newfound joy.
Don't let this pregnancy dictate your next one. My first was exactly the way yours went. I was not in a good place because of my hormones. I was having sickness every hour of the day and nothing I did helped. I had family members telling me that I was trying to get rid of my baby because I wouldn't snap out of my depression. Like this was all in my head. My first daughter was born and in that moment I knew everything I went through was worth it all. My second baby was where I got to enjoy the pregnancy for a brief moment due to complications. She was born premature but still healthy. My third daughter my pregnancy was amazing she was born healthy and bigger than my other 2 daughters. I had the most beautiful experience. My Doctor told me that some women with their first pregnancy their body just can't handle the over load of hormones. She also said that I would likely have a tough time with baby blues and she was right but I was able to fix that aspect of all 3 of pregnancies. My children are 3 years apart and are now grown and I still call them my anchor because every time I see them I am reminded that they were given to me to show me how blessed I really am.

Thank you for talking about all of this so publicly. Too often it is brushed under the rug or seen as “taboo,” which leads to more women struggling and suffering in silence. Everyone’s experiences of pregnancy and new parenthood will be different. For many people it’s a beautiful, fun time, and for many people it’s hard and just surviving can seem like a huge effort. They’re all normal emotions to have, no one is bad or weird for experiencing it in their individual way.
Congrats on your new little one! I think parenthood gets more and more fun (my daughter is 7 now). People will tell you to “enjoy every moment,” but honestly some of them are NOT enjoyable! There’s lots of tough stuff! So enjoy the good, take the bad as it comes, and look back in triumph on all of it! ♥️
Oh wow, I totally understand, both of my parents had brain tumors it was the worse time for my family and me, They had both passed and gone with the Lord! But now when I hear of people going to hard time and compassionate and understand! Sometimes we go through hard times but they are always teach us and help us understand and help others who go through the same things as we did! I was so happy to see you were back. I am 5 months pregnant now and I can totally understand what you are talking about. I also always wanted to have many kids, not to far apart in age. But now I want to wait until the next one for about 10 years. And thats it, no more than 2. There were times in my pregnancy so far where I really thought that I am going to die.
So happy to see your face again! Congrats on the baby! I also have horrible pregnancies. Sounds like we had the same thing, hypermensis gravitaurum. My second pregnancy was a little better because I knew what to expect and I took a medication called diclegis which helped with the vomiting but I was still nauseous 24/7.

Congratulations! I am so happy to see you again, sis! I know what you are talking about - my both parents were diagnosed with cancer and both are after operation, radiation and + Mum after chemotherapy and she has also sclerosis multiplex as well. Well done for getting through the pregnancy. I had the same thing with both pregnancies (second was twins so was even worse) and you just isolate yourself because no one understands and you can’t eat or drink or talk or socialise. It’s depressing in itself. People tell you how to raise a baby but no one prepares you for the transformation in yourself. Keep going strong mamma x
Postpartum depression is something difficult a number of mothers go through, but not all moms. To talk to family and your own mother and if any friends that have gone through same, it's bets to talk to them. If you believe in God and or Jesus Christ, I HIGHLY suggest you pray every day for help from God on that when that happens with anything really.
Hi Lillith, I became a Mom this year too with my first child also a daughter. You are the first person which I can relate to, no one I know of had also a pregnancy AND birth quite like me. I think the same way, I always wanted several Kids but at the moment I'm too traumatized. Even now 5 months after giving birth I'm still in pain and have flashbacks at night.
