  • After a year of being closed to the public, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is partially open again. During the pandemic, East West Bank secured a PPP loan for the museum to help keep operations going. The Elguea family takes part in the SuperProject, which is part of the museum’s Community Science Program, in which families investigate nature all around L.A., in backyards, schools, and in neighborhoods and share them with scientists, and visits the museum for the first time since the pandemic.
On April 30 - May 3, 2021, everyone in Los Angeles can join in the City Nature Challenge, collecting photos of nature specimens and wildlife in their cities, uploading them, and competing with over 100 other cities globally. This year, the City Nature Challenge will focus on embracing the healing power of nature and celebrating tens of thousands of people all around the world, searching for and documenting their local biodiversity, together in this event.
