Girl you basically rescued me! I've been experiencing dip flu for the past 9 months, I thought it was the dip powder, but I just figured out a month ago it may be the liquids. I pushed all my dip powder to the back of my closet because I didn't want to go through that anymore. I would be stuffy and congested for a whole week! Girl I will be trying this method this weekend! @@TheBeautyVault hi doll, I hope you're well. I have a question. So you don't have to use the activator if you use the Gel base so the powder can stick? Isn't the activator what hardens the power? Hmm I think I just answered my own question, lmao. Because once curing the gel it hardens the powder, right? 🤔 lmao I'd love to know if I'm right because as you said, the process of taking the dip powder off is a B*TCH. I started dipping at the beginning of COVID and every time I dipped my nails, I had the worsttttt chest cough for like a week… it would get slightly better then I’d do my nails again and it would come back. Reaalllyyy bad time to have a cough around people lol. Was legit scared I’d caught the COVID but after 2 negative tests and a doctors visit… I started to notice the pattern and realized I had the dreaded dip flu! The crazy looking Walter white mask helped 100% for me but was so annoying to wear! I also switched to the gel method.

The base and activator products are just offensive to the senses tbh. Even if you're not allergic to them or get any kind of "dip flu" reaction, they have a very strong, unpleasant smell and are sticky and messy, and something I don't like using, so I have been using this method for years because of that. So even if you don't have an allergic reaction but just don't care for using those products, this method is good for that

I just found your channel, and I’m so glad. I had no idea why, after a dip manicure at home, I had really itchy tops of my fingers and was coughing and sneezing up a storm for a few days. I just thought my seasonal allergies were kicking up, but my neighbors weren’t experiencing the same thing. I had no idea there was something called “dip flu”. Thanks so much for the PSA! I’ve used this gel/dip method a few times now with no reactions!!!!! I’m so relieved. Your voice is great to listen to, the content is helpful, and I take some sort of satisfaction in all the nail cleanup you do before the product application! Haha. Satisfying almost in a Dr Pimple Popper way (getting rid of the gunk 😂)). Subscribed!

I have never experienced dip flu but I am very sensitive to the dust. I am very familiar with this method and even though I know it I watched the whole video bc your voice was so soothing. I absolutely loved that dip powder you chose 😍😍

Thank you so much!!! I’m not allergic to the dip stuff but i like doing this with the gel base much better!!! All the dip bottles get glued shut.

Omg this is such a lifesaver!! My thumb nails have become so flat from me picking off my nails. I know, a horrible act! But I just did a acrylic nail on both thumbs and it's been way too long since I used monomer and chile that smell!!!! Never again. It got me thinking about the fumes of the dip collection as well so while I didn't use the Kiara Sky gel, I wanted to see if the Beetles version would also work with this method and it's way faster than this videos method although I'm sure yours lasted and looks better than mine! But I will say, this method is amazing because it also cut down the filing and shaping. I literally only have to buff the top to a smooth feel and top it! I literally can't wait for my other nails to lift so I can do this on all my fingers. It will probably be my beats mani ever!! You are the Nail Queen!!!!

I started my nail journey because of your videos so thank you!!! Now i have a new method to try. I hate hate polygel so I stick with gel nails and tips but now with this dip gel hybrid method, I’m fucking excited. FYI any Dallas ladies here Sam’s nail supply in Richardson has kiara sky powders, gel and nail polish along with other brands of powders and polishes!

  • @missbonimeduridesidns1793

I love it and I feel like even the acrylic liquid makes me have a cough and it's weird because I haven't used acrylic in like a week and I'm not coughing as much so maybe that is what it is. So I'm going to try this thank you for the info it really makes sense. I just subscribed to you and I love to see how you work. And you have a very soothing voice which is a plus. And I enjoyed your video very much. Thank you!

That’s my drill and I’ve had it for over a year now. I have had no issues with it at all. Love it! Great for those of us DIY nail people!💕
I’ve been using base gel and foil gel to dip my normal acrylic powder when I don’t feel like doing full hard gel or acrylic. Works great, too!

Thank you so much…I became sick soon after filing my dip powder sets…I thought it was the brand..so I change the brand and quality of mask..I still became sick. I’m so excited to see if this will be a better outcome. I miss doing my nails with my dip powders it’s so much easier for me than doing acrylic sets on myself.

So I’ve never really messed with my dip or acrylic powder as I was trying to learn polygel and gel first. I did end up getting allergic reactions from certain base coats. I’ve found madam glam doesn’t bother me. I’m just starting with my dip and acrylic so I’m happy to learn this. Thank you

Yasss girl. After 2 months of getting sick I finally figured out the problem and did research and started using the gel method over a year ago and honestly it is less work, easier and stronger than all the steps of regular dip powder system which is crazy to me. Glad more people are talking about this be because I thought I was crazy at first.

Dip flu took me out too! I thought I had my regular seasonal sinus infection until I ended up at the E.R. getting a breathing treatment and an inhaler. My chest felt like concrete and I even wore thick masks made for fiberglass work but those liquids are truly the devil!! I tried the gel method with a mini nail lamp and it didn’t cure so I’m gonna go for a full size lamp and hope it works. Thank you for all the info it’s how I realized what was happening to me!

that's so scary! I'm thinking those dip liquids must be really bad for us if people are getting such strong reactions.
