For 40 years now, they have yet to fail to absolutely knock me over....not for a single moment. They are the band of our dreams....and sadly, because been so long, it's beginning to seem like it.
Six years later and for this Yank not a day goes by that I don’t regret not being a few years older and getting to see them back then - or at all. One of the greatest 3 piece acts ever, across genres.
Saw em twice when I was circa 15/17 , remember the backdrop stage images to this great track of George Best etc.....The Jam were Brilliant. I am 55 now incredibly and Weller is 63 I think next birthday........time passes by so quickly .....but gloriously 👍
Shame we don’t have bands like this anymore power trio The Jam were, Buckler a power horse on drums Foxton blasting out those melodic bass lines and Weller on Vocals and the way he mixed lead and rhythm guitar they had such a full sound.. 18 top 40 singles with 4 number 1’s not many bands can say that! and in 5 years! ‘77 to ‘82.. love going back watching their live sets 💪
Yes, yes, yes and fuck yes... But the camera work is terrible. Man I loved all mod cons/to be someone!! At aged 16 those lyrics exploded in my brain. And still to this day lol... Forever those 3 boys. The great man sings my life.
just testing the zoom...working again. Bought All Mod Cons as a cut out at a mini mall in NW indiana circa 81. No turning back as a fan after that. One of my favorite weller songs and this live version is even better than the studio version.
They were so gloriously loud and powerful for a 3 piece. Happy days down the Rainbow, Finsbury Park ;-)

So true words , I waited up 2 c it on TV in Durham on a black and white TV , they was my life , never felt anything like it since
True words, sad how weller has b cum
Me too, it's 43 yrs now ,if I'd been able to see all the Jam stuff like this back then I would've fallen off my Vespa

Every single Jam song is better than good.
Also every B side.

@@jamieroger3569 lol, you must be young.
Just incredible live ,they’re tearing the place apart
My favorite jam track, should have been a single, it would have been another number 1 for the jam..
Perfect ❤
getting drugged up w/ my trendy fiends, they really dig me man and I dig them - really sums up a great night out. this song never gets old. ever.

love the pogoing guy who invades the stage at 1.13 mins. seems to be in state of ecstasy!
+bobst657 I love the way he keeps pogoing even as he's being dragged off the stage. Quality!
& great shoes
Hilarious Pal!
i hope he was able to return to the crowd and wasn't completely ejected.
Absolutely fucking dynamite
Top shit, been listening since 78, never trade, top top band
So much powerful music from Weller the genius
the kid who gets up on stage became someone.
One of my favourite jam songs.
Mine too - ALL Mod CONS - what an album !!

The best fcukn band in the world
Guy jumps up and does the pogo, still pogoing even as he's hauled off stage, top top effort !!
Weller and his perfect, angry, vicious and unrepentant 2 minute 50 second rock songs...
@@saphyhair5135 Brilliant...
Don't know about "no more Cocaine now, it's only ground chalk ...." seems the camera man had been snorting something :) Great post :)

I thought it was no more pork, now its only ground chuck... oh wow thanks for the correction
@@johnnymfan5065 that's funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Newcastle City Hall. Two great gigs. Oh to see them once more.
Yes, yes, yes and fuck yes... But the camera work is terrible.

TCB1965 I think you'll find that they were the 'effects' at Tyne Tees Studio's during the Eighties :)
I saw the Jam for the 1st time on November 25th 1978 at the Wembley. They opened up with All Mod Cons/To be Someone. Changed my life!
@@mark6809mm think they played coventry that night dont think they played Wembley till 82
TCB1965 as a guitarist I can only imagine the speed they must have been doing to sing and play like this.
I know the camera man, it's Stephen wonder, also a friend of mine
This video just blew me away
the best song live of alltime
Well, that was a bit absolutely fucking superb wasn't it?
Anybody Comments on This Statuesque Work of Musical Genius better be Nice! Young Lad is Talented

Absolutely fucking magic.

October 27 1980 seems like yesterday oh how everyone wanted to be someone like Weller still cool as fuck 39 years later
Love the pogo dancer who was still trying to pogo as he was dragged off the stage.
You've been busy these last few days. Glad to have this (even with the insipid zoom camera man). Thanks as always for posting

Toon City Hall 1980
Wow Different Gear ... Proper
SSSUUUUUUPPPPPEEEERRRRRRBBBBBB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know about y'all but I had a Very Nice Time!
Toon City Hall
Fucking smashed that
Newcastle City Hall
The camerawork is criminal but the great sound is what matters!
That crash zoom..... ouch.
There's a reason the rythym should be left to Foxton & Buckler and not some clown with a new zoom lens.
Wow , when Weller was a god
Kick Ass
bass is a lead instrument too
0:47
Weller in yella
They've let the pinball wizard loose on the camera here
Where did it all go wrong. Up the Toon
Taken from Dig The New Breed
Brilliant song of course. But not sure about that shirt!!
Foxton uses a p bass live in the jam! That's unusual
Not really he used it on the majority of their recordings and live shows
"Getting drugged up with my trendy friends". I think the camera man took that as a direction.
just testing the zoom...working again. Bought All Mod Cons as a cut out at a mini mall in NW indiana circa 81. No turning back as a fan after that. One of my favorite weller songs and this live version is even better than the studio version.
Boois Hoois.
Like the man himself said
"Don't have to explain myself to you,
I don't give a f#ck about your review."
And to be honest, neither do I.
"2 fucks"!!
What the fuck was weller wearing
A shirt and trousers...... ?
what horrendous filming and editing. Shame, it's a good song for sure.
Wow, the Noel Gallagher version is 10x better.
Boois Hoois .. please stop talking outta your ridiculous arsehole! U are 100X tone deaf my friend & have no business pretending to be a fan !!
I agree!
Noel brought a melody to it and made the lyrics more meaningful
Such a dumbass comment you had to write it twice
Noel Gallagher's version is 10x better than this garbage.
Fishing are you
Oh dear
